Yeah, mine says it is coming on the 30th as well. I really hope I get it. That was the number 1 Amiibo I was waiting for. Can't wait to dress up as him in Mario Kart.
 
I wonder if retailer exclusives will continue into waves 4+? There were none in the first 2 waves. I really hope not, as I try to order everything through amazon and the exclusive-BS will probably prevent me from getting Rosalina at all.

I don't see anyone doing this trade, Pit is quite rare and very expensive. In my area Diddy is freaking everywhere.
 
I want to preorder Lucario now at TRU.com proper but I already ordered him on eBay... oy! I really dug myself into a hole. :V

I guess I'll preorder him anyways and try to cancel the eBay order.

Don't cancel wait till you get both then return 1 safe>sorry. On top of which I'm sure some here may miss out and hadn't previously preordered from TRU so you can always be nice and sell it to them at cost.

I've done the same thing. Actually, I now have THREE Lucarios on order. One through the website, one through eBay, and one through the $1 store card reservations. I'd like to cancel the eBay one as well. I noticed that they charged me for it yesterday...
 
well hopefully everyone ordering pit & co. on TRU.com right now is assurance that my own order from last week won't be cancelled, if they are opening up for more orders right now that's a pretty good sign.
 
My Villager that I got on TRU.com the other day is potentially coming on Monday.

Crossing my fingers that it isn't a wrong Amiibo or some Disney Infinity something or other.

Lucario x2

Getting an extra Lucario to trade for a Meta Knight just in case those are hard to find. The Captain and Pit will probably go to GAFfers since I already have them being shipped to me currently.
 
Well I'm happier with TRU than I was for sure. I was able to get a preorder in for Sonic, which was the only wave 3 I hadn't preordered yet, and I got it for cheaper to boot. $23 for two amiibos and free shipping. Not bad at all.

Now the only company on my shitlist for amiibos is Target, for how they have handled Rosalina preorders.

Never thought of a Club Nintendo character going up first. E3 is still 6 months away, so there might be enough time. If not and if Amiibos are still going strong we'll see one at the 2016 event.
 
Am I the only one that thinks this is all a bit ridiculous? I bought my Villager on launch to actually use with Smash. Yet now there are all these shortages, people buying multiple full sets, people selling for ludicrous prices...whatever happened to just using the toys—because, that's what they are, toys—as just that? It takes a lot of the fun out of it (in my view, at least) to go full-on capitalist with these amiibos. I dunno...I guess I just wish I saw more stories of people doing something neat with their amiibo than people chronicling their treks through retail to buy every last figure.

I wonder if the TRU email gives us any insight as to which Wave 3 characters are going to be hard to find.

Bowser - Limit 2
Falcon - Limit 1
Lucario - Limit 2
Mega Man - Limit 2
Pit - Limit 1
Sheik - Limit 2
Sonic - Limit 1
Toon Link - Limit 2
King Dedede - Limit 1 and separate communication
Ike - Limit 1 and separate communication

This tells me that King Dedede and Ike will be tough to find. And Sonic?
I'm surprised they're letting people order two Lucarios. Maybe he won't be in as short supply as we think.

Possibly. If I had to guess which ones would be rarer, those would be it. I'd guess shipments will be smaller, hence the limits in place.
 
How does shipping work with the TRU code? Is it free no matter what? I'm worried when I get Ike and DDD once available I'll have to pay shipping.

This was the exact question I asked when I had my very first amiibo taken out of my hands by a Best Buy employee even though it was on the shelf. They're just friggen toys :/ My favorite character since Melee is Marth and I can't even get him.

I blame our (USA) scalping culture and the need to make everything a collectible. Another one that's gone nuts in the last year is SNES games. I've been collecting SNES and NES games since the SNES was still relevant. Used to have a bunch of fun going to flea markets and the like finding gems or even just a few things. Now you go to flea markets and people have set up reselling shops with things are absurd prices. Every Ebayer putting up a copy of Home Improvement or Goof Troop on the SNES is slapping "RARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" at the back of their titles.
 
I found out that Michael's was having a BOGO on display cases and the best case was a medal display case. No shit, it fit the Amiibo and other figures perfectly.
 
Well they cancelled Lucario on me but I ordered 1 when it came back, 2 in-store, and one from their eBay page. I know I know but it is their fault for making me nervous.

So with the code I took the opportunity to get a backup plan for Pit and through in Sonic for my nephew.

Still not thrilled that this process had to exist but at least they stepped up and tried to make it right. Good on you TRU
 
Welp, even with the "special discount" that's not the original deal offered to me, so fuck them.

Well Im speaking in the perspective as someone who has received the TRU email with the code and link to order him and others. It states 12/31 on their so I think I found it lol.
