Similar : Resembling without being identical.

Not everything is so literal. The metaphor made sense to me.

Yeah, this is a BS motive, IMO. They're probably claiming it so when MS and/or Sony finally do something to thwart their efforts, they can then thump their chests and claim it was all because of them, and that gamers should appreciate what they did for them.

Just another attempt to get an ego boost when someone finally causes them to fail.

Also, man I never noticed how barebones the XB1 is without an internet connection. All I have on my screen is like the most recent game I played and a couple tiles for games and settings. Lol.

I'm glad it made sense to you. I'm not saying it was worthless, I'm saying there was a better metaphor and shortly after one was presented. To be honest, I don't know why people are getting so worked up about this.
 
These kids are just a bunch of shit heads, putting a bullet in their heads is more than they deserve. A much harsher penalty for them, as far as I'm concerned - if they can ever find out who they are - put a lifetime ban on them every getting any kind of internet access of any kind in any country and blacklist their names for social insurance purposes- they will forever be incapable of getting any kind of credit or loan or even opening a bank account as well as holding a job or going to school - basically anything that uses technology or allows ANY kind of connection to online infrastructure in anyway - they would be forever removed. Essentially forcing them into homelessness , should they decide to off themselves, well that's their choice.

Doing shit like this is like an open rejection of society and the privileges that it affords shit heads like this. Denying them the chance or ability to do anything like that for the rest of their lives unless under some level of heavy supervision is probably the only way they'll really suffer.

This didn't ruin my day personally, just the fact that they get away with it is what's shitty. Punishment should fit the crime , so jail time or death or whatever is absurd but giving them what they clearly want - cutting them off from the online world we live in , that's what I would LOVE to see. Might scare others from repeating those mistakes too.

FFS I just want to play some Warframe. I was playing GTA V SP and I had to do the assassination mission with Lester before I can move on to the money truck heist and BAWSAQ was offline. I just assumed it's not available because this was the first assassination, but it was offline after the mission, too. Appearently you need an internet connection for it to work. That pissed me off. I even held off buying anything for the protagonists because I wanted to make the most money possible.

PS4 does at least function right out of the box, and are bundled with physical games. Xbox One needs the mandatory update, and are only bundled with digital games.

Looks like EA servers are down since I can't play BF4.

I can view my friends list, send messages and access the PSN store, so I'm guessing it's the EA servers being dead that's not letting me play BF4.

Sorry, bro, but I'm online and able to open the ps store. Can't play destiny because it's saying PSN is down and playstation vue won't open either. Netflix is working tho.
