People say this every time someone post something like this. Set your PS4 as your primary console on your console settings. It will stop connecting to PSN in order to see validation for your DD games.

I feel for Mr.Kim dotcom. If I was in Lizard Sqaud, I would had been happy to accept that deal from Kim and stop these attacks on Xbox and PS4. I saw a picture of Kim for the first time on a article earlier today due to the deal with Lizard Squad, and he has that face of honesty. I feel sad for him that he got played! I'm hoping for 25 years MINIMUM for these Lizards idiots!

At first, since I hadn't received my pay yet, I didn't really care. But I got paid today and I really want to take advantage of these ps+ discounts.

I don't even want to play them right away, just dl them before the sale is over. Can't believe this has been going on for three days. Fucking thing sucks. :(

Thank God it doesn't affect Netflix though. Been binge watching American Horror Story the last few days and I'm totally good with just this for now.
 
So we can safely assume finest squad was a ruse by lizard squad or why haven't we heard anything from them let alone why are they still at it when they supposedly got doxed.

Man why the fuck can't I play SINGLE PLAYER Spelunky while PSN is down? The game takes forever to boot and constantly freezes. What's the damn deal?

Server infrastructure is weird. PSN might look like a single entity to us from the outside, but inside it's likely a whole bunch of discreet and disparate systems all working together, or in this case, some working and others not working at the moment. I think PSN on the PS3, PS4 and Vita, don't even share the same login servers, they all handle login verification separately, using mirrored user databases.

PSN is derp and keeps trying to access things it don't need, stalling things. I've seen people in the thread say that if you go to your settings and turn off internet/wireless/wired or something, it'll make most single player games work.

I am pissed off because EA fucked up Ultimate Team Futmas offline cup and every time you won it you got a rare gold pack instead of just getting said pack only the first time.

Until Dec 24th I won over 10 of said rare packs and I was planning to win more this last 2 days but Sony completely screw me over. For the record every rare gold pack is also sold for real money so EA fucking up and giving you free rare gold packs is kinda something you want to take advantage of.

Some people might laugh at this post, but I agree with most of it! I don't see the point of paying to play online when the networks are going to be constantly dossed. I don't have a Xbox One, so I don't know how severe it is over there, but I hope Microsoft and Sony gives a free digital game or a free month of Gold/Plus due to this ordeal, since it WAS ON CHRISTMAS DAY!
 
Seems like Sony is just having issues getting PS4 network back up. Vita and PS3 seem to be doing fine which means the whole system isn't friend anymore.

Eventually it will change something. If it happens often enough to hurt big companies then the networks will change. They will become more locked down, hardened, policed.

Interesting that a lot of the botnet resides in China; whatever happened to the Great Wall? I thought that the Party limited the proles' access to the real world?

If they're no longer under attack, they'll slowly bring the system back up to avoid getting the equivalent of a DDoS again from legitimate traffic.

The problem with that is if these hackers also own one or more of these systems it just gives them a reason to do it more often.

I can't find much to agree with in his post however.

Many people have posted actual data about how difficult it is to stave off a massive coordinated DDoS attack. What magic will happen to make the networks more "hardened"?

The great firewall of China - if I'm not mistaken - only really handles filtering general HTTP stuff, websites, chats, etc. It filters and blocks content - but it's not set up to stop the kind of nebulous outgoing traffic that a DDoS botnet uses, since technically that kind of traffic is useless for seeing how the imperialist ameridogs live and what they watch. But it's great for spamming, en mass, at a target to damage it.

Amazes me how angry people get over this...yes it is an annoyance, but a day or so without PSn or Live is hardly s big deal, all my offline games work.

Don't understand what hackers get out of this, why not attack someone worth while?
