LIZARD SQUAD is Back. Planning XBL Attack. "Biggest attack yet". [UP: XBL/PSN Down]

Something is happening...new error message while trying to sign in. Connection is no longer timing out, its straight up being terminated upon request.

I've been getting that since yesterday though.

XBL has been up and running for me all day, however when LS first hit yesterday it was down for hours. Seems to have been fixed since late last night.

I had this happen last night and early this morning but eventually it went back to the same time out error message

Are you saying the situation is equal right now between the two networks?

Nope, I never said it was equal. I am saying every one will have different experiences. Many people couldn't get on PSN from Xmas eve. But I was still on until 7pm Xmas day. It is obvious MS will be better with stuff like this due to them having far more servers.

Assumptions...I had a 360 from 2006-2009......Other then maintenance, and no party chat, there was no diff between Live or PSn for me. with Ps4 only issue i've had is messages being slow...live has been down as much as PSn this year.
Okay I'm done debating With you. Hope for a speedy recovery on psn. Because a. Homie is trying to play yo!

At least now when I try to sign in or check trophies it fails instantly instead of loading for 5 minutes then failing.

PROGRESS!

Guess I just read it wrong... My b.

I just don't understand why everything is down except PS3 (and apparently Vita). Those work just fine, but I can't even go to the web store? How does that work?

I just want to buy Black Flag before the fucking sale is over.

If they dont fix this before the sale is over, you are fucked. Sony never extends game sales after a DDOS attack.

I remember when PSN went down on 2011 and there was a sale going on during that time. Well when PSN came back, store prices were normal and Sony never made a blog post or anything regarding the botched sale event. I was pissed I missed out on some game sales.

I feel this wont be fixed until Monday the latest. By that point, Im back to work and wont have time to play GTA5O like I wanted to....fuck.

So you've had a PS4 and XB1 this year? Because you said you only had a 360 til '09. Xbox Live has not been down as much as PSN this year. Or any year.

Let me reframe this situation for some of those calling for Sony to reimburse the public significantly.

For UK-ers, certain newspapers charge monthly fees for memberships to read articles online such as Financial Times, The Times, The Sun and a couple others. Now if their websites were DDOS'ed would as many people be calling for Murdoch to give away tonnes of papers to members?

Sony almost certainly will extend PS+ memberships but until the issue is resolved, there's not really much they can do, nor is it really their fault.

Yes it has.....there is a good list that shows this pretty sure, was posted here before. Live has been down a lot this year, several times during titanfall launch, and numerous times throughout the year,

Yeah I can't even sign in anymore (it used to bring me to the login screen but now it won't even do that).
Maybe Sony shut the servers down and they are rebooting them?

Is it a coincidence that most posters here trying to deflect from sony's role are fellow junior members?

Or maybe I'm allowed to have an opinion different than yours? It's not deflecting it's simple common sense and I won't keep repeating what I've been saying because it literally doesn't matter if you're already dead set on thinking anyone with a conflicting opinion than you is a fanboy or a shill am I right?

I think it's the likely-fake doxx by FinestSquad, which is why I really doubt its validity.
It was something 'finest' squad leaked when they supposedly took down Lizard Squad
But like a poorly written movie, they are probably the same group, and they just bought themselves time to execute the most recent attack
It on finests site, they apparently released it.

Got it. I'm not able to keep up with details as fast as they develop, but I certainly would not trust anything that came from them at this juncture.

I think it's a YMMV kind of thing. Last gen I found live way more reliable than Psn.

This gen (so far at least) yeah you're right, they've been equally as reliable.

BTW I wish there was a Terminator like being sent from the future to the past to get rid of these pests on society. Bonus points if it was a Sony Cyborg sent for revenge for all the down time they have caused on PSN lol.

I think I'm going to retire from this thread - it moves very fast, and not a lot has changed since yesterday. I wanna play games, not be on the internets.

If anyone asks why a DDoS is a problem: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=144877975&postcount=4584

Remember: There are many fake LizardSquad accounts all sowing misinformation. Don't trust any of them. FinestSquad is likely fake too, and just trolling people.

Good luck to everyone, hope the storm passes soon. *salute*

What is indeed a shame about all this is that there were plenty of new people ready to have their first online experience with a new console they got from the Holiday season so they could play with friends, family members and so on. It's a shame that those who work hard and need to take care of their relatives while doing so much more, had a little time off from all the obligations only to find they can't play their favourite game online. I just hope all this to be solved as fast as possible, violence-free, hate-free. Nobody wins from being hateful and negative or wishing others harm. I hope they can find the responsible people for this act and I hope they are brought to justice.

Meanwhile, for those who put aside some free time to play with your friends and family members, I feel you, I love this hobby as well and wouldn't mind to be downloading some games from the latest sale or updating some already owned games so I can play with the best updated versions of it.
Nail on the head. Thanks for taking the time to post this.

The Sun readers aren't kids on Christmas Day. Sony couldn't have done much to prevent this but it's still bad pr and they'll probably offer something as compensation.

But you are saying live is the same as when you had it from 2006 to 2009?

The hack was a one time thing......PSn was no different then live for me the years I had both, other then sony's maintenance once every couple months. In fact the worst lag I had was on live with gears of war 2. Yes there was no difference using live or PSn for gaming, both worked fine.

Console wars... console wars everywhere.

In a perfect world everyone would have every console and game and the people fighting the war could put their pom pom's down stop cheering for one side or the other and just play the games and enjoy them for what they are. In the end we are all gamers and that gets lost in the battle of "console warz" unfortunately.
