Gears of War Marcus Fenix Collection coming to Xbox One? Phil Spencer retweets

As I have played countless hours more of Gears 2 and 3 they are the games that feel right to me.

To make such a blanket statement as there is something wrong if someone likes Gears 2 is laughable as it was and is still a great game. I have played countless ours on 2 and 3 and enjoyed both equally. So are you going to tell me I haven't played Gears? Some of the map designs on 2 I vastly preferred to 3.

Judgement is the only game that needs to die and be forgotten.

As long as they have split screen mode in (for said hypothetical collection) and the new game, I'm sold.

Mantle kicking needs to be tweaked too. Other than that, yeay, it's basically perfect.

Gears 3 was really bright and colorful. Plus, a lot of objects had a soft roundness to them too. Everything in Gears 1 was sharper and crisper, and not mention, just darker and scarier. They HAVE to go back to that.

Damn, I had forgotten (or blocked out ha) some of the bad shit that was in Gears 2 at the beginning. Gnasher shooting down, 2-piece... How did they screw up so badly after the first game??

One thing that Gears 2 did right- Being able to beg for mercy when downed. Why they took that out in 3 I will never know.

And there should definitely be a Beta for the next game.

I want a PS4 really bad, but Microsoft is making the decision really difficult between this and the MCC.

If only I hadn't played all these games a billion times.

PXG, where did the GOAT map, River come from? River wasn't in 1 or 3.
But yeah Gears 2 other than classic Horde was ass. Campaign? Ass. Multiplayer? Ass.

I'll give Judgment a pass because the new weapons and the campaign were fun.

Basically 3 > 1 > Judgment > Exile > 2 #kappa

While I agree with you, Gears 2 was only broken at a technical level. There was nothing wrong with its level design or mechanics. In fact, it has the best MP maps.

Judgement is just fundamentally flawed.
 
GoW1 is without question a classic, undeniably amazing.
It isn't until now that I've discovered that there are people who hate GoW2. The campaign is spectacular and on the level of the former and latter installments, it's just the multiplayer that was busted to fuck for the first months post launch which is more than reasonable to be mad over, but once it was fixed, I still drilled a couple hundred hours into it.

GoW3 is without a doubt my favorite in the series, the amount of content and the quality of it is spectacular, almost unheard of. The multiplayer is one of the only reasons I'm keeping my 360 around.

Judgement... Well Aftermath was good but the main campaign was... off and the multiplayer...
PCF thought Call of War on four maps with a new control scheme was what fans wanted?

Let's just forget Judgement all together, but still, my point is, GoW2 is an amazing game in it's final state, if only it was polished at launch like it is now.
 
River and Jacinto (Fucking Hammer of Dawn, soooo good). War Machine, Canals, Gridlock and Mansion from Gears 1. Fuck I miss these games. Wish I still had access to a 360 :(. Just give me a gansher that works, a lancer with no stopping power. Original power weapons and symmetrical fucking maps, 60fps. Execution 4v4, I will play until the end of time. Pls Microsoft.

Gears1 art direction, every map ever released, Gears3 gameplay/controls.

slap together a MP only version and ditch the campaign so the game can be developed quicker.
 
Alright guys let's be real, people come back to Gears mainly for the MP.

Gears 2 has a better SP than Gears 3
Gears 2 has the best MP maps
Gears 2 is fun... When the connection is good.

These are the only things going for it. You just can't compare Gears 3 MP to Gears 2 MP, it's not even fair lol. 3 took everything that was wrong with 2, and got rid of it. Everything that was good with 2, they just vastly improved it. Gears of War 3 is best MP experience out of the whole series.

I have so many headshots with the Boltok Pistol on Jacinto. That was one of my favorite maps in the game.
 
what if the help that shinobi is hinting at is epic games? would make sense if part of the purchase price of gears was to help fund epic to work on this
 
I like Judgment. I played a lot of 3 and some of 1 (no 2) but I have enjoyed the SP and MP in Judgment. As an old BF1942 player, I enjoy OverRun as a sorta, kinda GoW equivalent. I suppose I am probably not experienced enough with the GoW games to notice the flaws everyone discusses here.
 
The ONLY redeeming element of Gears 2 was the improved cover system. Is was much easier to move in and out of cover, this wall bouncing became easier along with it. Other than that, Gears 2 brought nothing of value to the table.

Loved Gears 1 and Gears 2 (at least single-play side anyways), but never finished Gears 3 (should do that now I have the 360 setup again for a while). Would happily buy this as giddy as I am for Halo MCC.

Also, sack Phil Spencer, never liked him anyway. Get my man Yusuf Mehdi at the top, he'll see us right.
 
I don't see why they wouldn't bring this exclusive back. Met all my best friends on GOW1. So many great memories! I hope they bring it back remastered!
