Playstation TV Thread: Vita Who?

Youtube works pretty well through the browser, actually. A dedicated app would be nice, but the functionality is there.

I've never seen a brand new gaming device fall in price so quickly after it's first Christmas. Should be interesting to see sales data at the end of the month.

I am tempted to grab one so I can finish certain games on the big screen. Using the DS4 is a plus as well. Keeping my eyes peeled for a deal.

Thinking of importing this from Amazon.com to the UK, as it works out at £50 for the standard model, much better than the £80 that everyone is charging here.

Couple of questions, it would come with a US plug right? What adapter would I need, and I'm assuming it would work fine in the UK?

Have they released a black vertical stand for this? Like the white one in Japan?

So annoying that I really want that stand, but you have to import it. Kind of sad that they couldn't even release all of the accessories for this over here. :(

Received a PlaystationTV for Christmas and I have to say I'm pretty impressed with it. I wasn't expecting much but games look nice on my TV; bought Freedom Wars and Akiba Strip to give it a little workout and Freedom Wars looks great, fun game too.

Akiba Strip doesn't even launch though, even though it's labelled as EU compatible, which is pretty annoying; that's what I get for trusting Sony and not checking online for compatibility.

Ordered myself a nice big Memory Card so once that arrives I'll load up all my PSP and PS1 games onto, will make a nice portable console :P

How much is the The LEGO® Movie Videogame Game Voucher? $10-15?

edit: Never mind. It's currently $5-10.

It's currently in-stock at ebgames.ca but just the standalone.

really? :O they were both out of stock for me...

just the bundle was for me 30m before I posted that, but while I was thinking if I should buy, I check the standalone just 30m later and it was then out of stock... so i couldn't buy

should of checked again later when you posted.. haha

For some games you have to hit the refresh button in the LiveArea for the PS TV to recognize it's compatible. Perhaps that's the case for Akiba's Trip?

Thanks for the tip, looking around seems to show that that would work if it was an NA copy. Irritating. Luckily I've got a regular vita too but I was hoping to play on the TV. Maybe there's someone I can email to give Sony a nudge.

Finding a bug of sorts in the store when going through the PS TV -- finding compatible games in the "newest games" section that I can't even find when choosing the "all games" option.

Same case here. I think I deserve it... should have bought the PS3 version instead but told myself that it was a way to support the vita/pstv ecosystem. And who was going to think that the store was wrong? Last time I do this with a PSTV game if I can choose the PS3/PS4 version, goddamnit.

I can't believe I'm considering picking this up. The post-Christmas sales have not been as bombastic as I wished, though, so I probably shall just to play and review P4G all over again.

Picked one of these up as a little treat for the back bedroom. Have it wired over ethernet for remote play. Was disappointed with the menu output, loads of aliasing and general blurriness. Got used to it after about 20 minutes though then stuck remote play on.

Didn't have any jitters on DA:I but every now and again there's a definite smear and compression blocks that can still be seen. Not enough to ruin the experience but certainly enough to occasionally annoy those who easily pick up on this stuff.

Question, if you don't have a long nail how do you open the card slot on the side without damaging the system?

If you look on the bottom edge of the slot cover, the middle is more recessed than the rest of the edges. My nails are really short but I can still use the corner of my thumb nail on the spot and it opens up without any resistance. I also just tested it with the corner of a credit card and that works fine as well.

They added some PSP games to the PSTV store. Assassin Creed Bloodlines, Driver 76 and the Prince of Persia games.

Why no Resogun on PSTV? WTF Sony? I though new games would be cool especially Sony published games.

MY VITA TV IS HERE!

Anyone want to honor me with the gif?

Sorry if this has already been asked: I'm going to buy a PS TV, and am trying to decide between the bundle or just a PS TV. I plan to use it mostly for PS4 streaming. But I'll play a few games, such as Uncharted: Golden Abyss. Does the base model come with any storage at all? Would I even be able to download Uncharted and save games without buying a separate memory card?

no. it does come with 1gb on board, but that would only get you maybe a couple smaller indie type games and apps

Uncharted doesn't work on the PS TV, unfortunately.

Well this is interesting...

Burnout Legends works fine on Vita TV
Rock Band Unplugged won't start

Neither are games allowed on Vita but could be downloaded during that weekend.

Other games I have that don't belong on Vita

Prometheus Demo - Works
Rock Band Unplugged Demo - Works
Phantasy Star Portable Trial - Works
Phantasy Star Portable 2 Trial - Works

so strange....

*edit

Delisted Worms Battle Islands (psp game) also does not work on Vita TV

*edit 2
Someone said Resogun doesn't work and... it's working for me lol

I just bought one of these along with a retail copy of Persona. When I owned a regular Vita I remember games installing but I cant remember if they took up a lot of space. Is the 1gb enough to play a retail copy of Persona? Please keep in my mind I have no interest in buying any digital games for a long time so if the 1gb is enough to just play Persona that's fine.

Yeah, saved games take almost no space at all. A few MB at most. Some games require patches which can be large, but Persona is not one of them.

Was the controller number set to something other than 1?

Nope. Everything was as it should be.
I think it's conflicting with X being confirm for the game, but X being cancel on the Vita.
I think I can manage with one game not working.

Hmm... When I'm done backing up my 32gig (planning on giving vita tv it's own 16gb once I find it but it will stay with an 8gb for now) I will try to see if I can start it up with my TV remote thanks to HDMI CEC
