The Sunset Overdrive discussion shows how much the guys are a group of old boring men.
Here is how you deal with Brad liking something/Jeff not liking something:

Take note, rest of Giant Bomb.

If you're subscribed to Giant Bomb then watching Vinny play the game is a pretty good insight into why.Can someone convince me why Mordor is so great? I felt the arguments for it were kind of shallow. Everything I've seen from it looks exactly like Assassin's Creed traversal and a (weaker) Batman fighting system.

That game was made by a group of equally boring old men like Ted Price. They just had different senses of humor.
Yeah, that day 5 video has convinced me to play the game. I don't care if that character or the mechanics of that game is broken. That looked insanely fun to play.

Cutting smash BEFORE threes and desert golf.
Fucking insane.
It's worth checking out. Probably the ultimate "feel like a badass" game.
Just realize that the combat mechanics are just shit if you care about anything like challenge or, well, using your brain. It's truly the anti-Bayonetta in that respect. "Press A for Awesome: The Game." That's totally fine, but just make sure you know what you're getting into or you'll be pretty disappointed like I was. It's particularly problematic because it keeps the Nemesis system from really even coming into play until you get the mind-control ability (which is far too late in the game).
But Smash is boring.
"I'm ok with..."
Shut up Alex
Desert Golf is boring the game.
People are only impressed by that game because of how slow the pacing is.
Sorry to quote myself, but did they come out and say they've changed their own rule re: counting games from when they start charging?I'm not crazy in thinking GB have a rule where once you start charging you're effectively released right? If so re: Best Debut, despite not understanding Jeff's argument, isn't Hearthstone disqualified as they were accepting actual money in Closed Beta last year?
I was talking about the speed of the gameplay, not the humour. The humour mostly sucks.

The only thing surprising about Destiny is that Brad settled for 10th. The real shocker is that Dan got Mario Kart on there, despite Alex trying to "3D World" it. Also, Jeff waiting until everyone else ran out of steam to move all his games up the list was god damn masterful.
I never really found myself enjoying the combat in the game that much, but I was never a fan of the Batman combat either. I prefer combat like Dragon's Dogma, I feel more in control with it.

I'm pleased the game is represented, I've watched so much of it via streams this year it's crazy, but I'm not including it on my list because the GB rule let it count last year.

The combat also seems very easy to break: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6AV9W2ZdmjU&list=FLwOozlYrBim7OmQ9jzi_jgQ&index=7
I know the guy in the video is probably high level and that he's being a little obnoxious, but he makes some very valid points. It turned me off of buying the game. I'm desperately hoping someone will convince me it's actually good though.
I was being sarcastic and just quoting Brad. I'm with you.
It doesn't just seem to be easy to break, it is easy to break.
And it only gets easier from there, people tell me that the nemesis system produces unique and interesting stories / rivalries, but outside of a couple of orcs managing to escape from me and me running away from orc commanders later on from sheer boredom I didn't get to interact much with the nemesis system because I was god damned immortal. I didn't use the brand much because it was less effective than killing everything (and it puts talion into a comprised position where he can actually take damage instead of being a mashing immortal god). The game's combat mechanics being so simple and being such a cakewalk make it so the nemesis system doesn't really even come into play, at least it didn't for me.
It's pretty easy to mash out the combat on keyboard, but it's even easier on pad. If someone told me they facerolled through the game, I'd be inclined to take it literally.
Remember guys, this is supposed to be representative of the Giant Bomb staff, not some overall appraisal of the quality of the games that came out this year.
Brad was completely infatuated with Destiny for a good long time. Jeff kept coming back to it, too, despite having huge issues with the game. It makes sense that it makes it in the top 10 even if it's also one of the most disappointing games of the year.
Dan knowing where the good internet be.

Question is is that this thread or the community one.
Well considering that I'm a huge Kingdom Hearts fan....It's worth checking out. Probably the ultimate "feel like a badass" game.

Ahh ok.
I don't even owned the new Smash but from what I've played of it it has an insane amount of content.
He posts there regularly. The video was recorded weeks before this thread so its most likely the community one.
