Looks like I might just be better buying a Wii Motion Plus adapter from Grainger Games for £6.99 as I already have 4 standard remotes anyway. Is there any advantage to the Wii Remote Plus over the standard remote + addon other than form factor? Does it work better in any way?

I had a look on eBay but that looks like a minefield filled with non official products

As far as I'm aware there's no difference between the add on and the built in, but I can't say I've payed a huge amount of attention to such topics.

Once again a cheap place to get the built in ones is Nippon Yassan, where you can get the coloured ones for about £20: https://www.nippon-yasan.com/ninten...118-wii-remote-plus-controller-mario-ver.html

They have been cheaper though. Got the Princess Peach one for about £16 including shipping a few months back. Though that might be down to fluctuating exchange rates.

The advantage of a Wii Remote Plus over a Wii Remote with a Motion Plus adapter is one of comfort. The adapter makes a Wii Remote feel unwieldy and not very comfortable to hold plus there's the added hassle of taking it off and putting it back on again. I bet you'll regret it in the long run if you do this for a few saved pennies.

Is the benefit of the Wii remote plus only for older Wii games?

Do many Wii u games benefit?

Nintendo Land requires WM+ for Zelda Battle Quest and Metroid Blast. Pikmin 3, I believe is enhanced for WM+ (smoother pointer controls) but doesn't require it. Wii Fit U has games that require one or two Wii Remote Pluses (or w/ adapter). Not sure about Wii Party U and the upcoming Mario Party 10.

Why do you need the upgraded Wii remote?

If it's just for multiplayer Mario/Kart/Smash etc then isn't the standard remote just fine?

I don't own a Wii U. It's to play Skyward Sword and nothing else

Again, as it's only for Skyward Sword £6.99 vs £35-40 for a new Remote Plus is a big difference to me. I see the ones above for £20 but I don't really want a pink one and I don't want to wait a while if they're shipping from Asia as I assume they are? Especially since it probably won't get used again. If it was just a few quid is pay the extra but it's considerably more

May throw a post out on Facebook to see if anyone I know owns one and can loan it to me. I'm sure there are tonnes of people with Wii's shoved in their shed/garage/closet!

If you really want a Wii Remote Plus, sometimes the big supermarket stores discount the Wii party packs with Wii Remote Plus's to £10-20. Then there's eBay of course.

Yeah, I checked eBay but it looks like a minefield of 3rd party and unofficial products which put me off a little. The ones that look like official Nintendo products were all auctions and were few and far between. Thanks everyone for all the tips though!

Shouldn't have expected an official Nontendo product to come down in price just because it was old. I still remember being shocked at seeing new copies of Mario 64 DS in Game for £25 last year!

More positive feedback for Nippon-Yassan.

Shipped my black Wii U Pro Controller on 19th Dec, arrived today, 12 days later, lowest shipping option. Perfect.

I'll wait until New Year's sales are over, and if there are still no stock clearances on Wii U pro controllers, I'll have to go with Nippon Yassan.

My housemate just bought a pre owned one at that price from Amazon. Sure, it was a fat 60GB backwards compatible one and sure, maybe it was listed at £119 and it got knocked down because despite it being listed as "like new", it arrived covered in gunk and she complained. But still, £99 PS3 to end 2014.

If any of you is interested in the Bayonetta (1) soundtrack, well there are a few available at amazon.co.jp for 4100 ¥ (22pounds). It's sold out anywhere else and western resellers are asking 60pounds+ for it already.

The soundtrack is 5 discs btw.

Thank you for the Nippon-Yasan tip, not so much for the sarcasm. Some of us haven't been here since the beginning.

Unless you were born earlier this year, that´s a bit of a sorry excuse, man. You don´t need a neoGAF account to read our Valuable Cheap Arse Tips. :D So you could have been following this thread for ages.

Anyway, welcome to GAF. :-) (And no need to take it personally, we were just fooling around.)

The old backwards compatible ones don't go for much these days anymore. Nobody cares. I sold mine for €130ish in December.

How many PS3s do you need :p

Edit: wait, why is PS3 so expensive? Wonder if Sony is avoiding incentivising retailers to make the PS4 seem like better value and get people to buy that?

Because Kutaragi.

$599

GUYZ!! A great 2015 for ya'll!

Now, best deal for SMACK BRO WIIU?
Shipping to EU (no CEX/supermarkets, sob)

edit: fuck it, just bought it for £36 shipped (italian version, so I could trade it in if needed). Hope I didn't overpay much?
Rakyuten's TGC didn't work for me (could only choose UK) and I also couldn't apply the coupon...

So in the end it came as €46 with registered delivery on the 5th, too much?

~

Also, bit OT:
I've got a brand new (with both boxes and shell) Wii remote with M+ attachment (white) which I'd be willing to sell obviously (25€ shipped?) but even trade for games (anything but Vita/PSP, even NDS or GBA are good to me if CiB).

When I ordered something older a few years back, it took them over a month to ship despite it saying in stock, and it was unsealed on arrival.

They may have improved though.

That doesn't inspire confidence!

Looking to buy Wii Sports Club before it becomes impossible to find.

anyone know any good prices on vita cards...seem to be out of stock nearly everywhere and those that are selling them seem to be charging extortionate prices for the already expansive cards...
