Super "NeoGAF Arcade Stick Thread" II TURBO

so I want to get a stick, my first stick to be exact, and i want to make sure it's a stick that will be both good, and last, any suggestions/

Looks great but the diagonals in the middle look kind of distracting and should be replaced by some other shapes/design. Maybe going minimal and removing them?
The logo and top bottom diags placement/distribution is great as the stick and buttons separation as well.
/2 cents

Thanks for the feedback. We are moving forward with the design though. I'll explain the design at a later date.

Purchased a HRAP V4 last week. Whilst the stick itself is great, I found the Kuro buttons to be quite awful; lots of squeaking and the buttons themselves would often get stuck.

Was contemplating on changing the buttons but they're super expensive here in Australia. Looked into the TE2 and I absolutely loved what I saw. Ended up selling V4 and went ahead and purchased a USF4 TE2 from Nippon-Yasan. Hopefully it should arrive soon.

Thanks for your support. If you have any questions about the product (TE2), let me know.

I also think Kuro buttons are poop.

The beauty of the HRAP V4 is... You can mod it with Sanwa buttons if you want lol.

I was very close to biting the bullet and purchasing Sanwa buttons to replace the Kuros but once I opened the V4....I saw how much of a mess it is for future mods and thought against it.

I think I'll win every single week heh.

well...HARP V4 will be my first stick I hope this will not affect my experience

I wouldnt worry too much about it, whether people like them seems to have as much to do with personal preference as the quality of the buttons. Ive had two sticks with Kuros and zero issues with them. Some positive review of the buttons here - http://shoryuken.com/2014/02/24/srklabs-review-hori-hayabusa-and-kuro/ and a review thread with generally favourable impressions of Kuros http://forums.shoryuken.com/discussion/188878/hori-kuro-unboxing-no-mods and some more commentary on the buttons here - http://www.levelup-series.com/hori-innovates-once-again/#prettyPhoto. Perhaps there are bad batches of them? But by and large theyre fine mechanically though understandably some people might not like the feel. I think I prefer Semitsu buttons, and will probably mod both sticks I have with them instead, but I do prefer the Kuros to Sanwas.

If you're a classic Seimitsu lover then I would say the Kuro is a better fit vs that of the Sanwa OBSF/OBSC buttons. Just my two cents.

I used to be pro Seimitsu but eventually conformed to Sanwa.

Thanks everyone for the ansvers. After visiting stores I'm afraid that I'm in danger now, already wanna buy diffefrent parts to understand how they affects experience.

That's actually the best (although potentially pricey) thing you can do. Not everyone has the same experience with each product/set of parts. So find what works best for you.

Took the spring out of an LS 32 and popped it into a Hayabusa to see how I liked it.

is seimitsu still using c-clips instead of e-clips? this is an old 32. I hope they've gotten rid of them because they are just terrible.

So, my Hayabusa makes a weird sound sometimes, seems to be the spring, how can I remove the spring from a LS 32 I have unused?
remove the c clip from the bottom of the shaft (opposite the balltop) and you should be able to slide the shaft out of the base revealing the spring and the actuator.

Finally!!! I got it

After some P4A testing it feels so unusual, no more accidental jumps, but it will take time to get used to how to jump properly after D-pads, same with right hand position, but at the end Im HAPPY!!

Congrats! You're down the rabbit hole now. ;-)

I've had my qanba q4 for a year and a bit now and I still haven't modified it in any way. Would anyone be able to recommend a good site for artwork or parts I could add to it? Preferably one that ships to Australia

Nice; I've got a pair coming as well. Going to be for PC but wanted to have flexibility in case I ever pick up a PS3 or 4.

Nice. Anymore impressions?

Well, as I sad it's very unusual, especially for right hand, it will took time to find the grip that will be comfortable for me, maybe I need bigger ball or switch it to bat. Also because stick have some dead zone its hard to time my movements perfectly, as example in P4A i press down+A+B, but because of this dead zone game receive A+B first and down afterwards, same with jumping. The buttons itself are great, but my square button have some squeak sound when I press it, but it seems it depends where I press the button, will test it more. Also the wire door is better than I expected, because I've read than it not closing at all for some users

My parents were extremely generous this Christmas.(Well...They're fantastic, besides gifts, to us kids all year long) Yesterday they dropped off another gift that didn't arrive in time for Christmas. With my new Silent Hori RAP 4, I'm covered for PS4 arcade sticks.

Thanks for that. I'm on the fence myself, so many decisions!

As an aside, I Iove that Dragon's Lair picture.

And if you could ask you parents if they would like to adopt a 45 year old Englishman, that would be great.

I wish people would release a stick without the turbo panels on the top lol.

I want my stick to literally only jave the stick 6-8 buttons and a start

Just played BlazBlue:CP with stick, shit, it feels SO GOOD, no more accidental jumps when I doing Inferno Divider of any other moves, but still need practice alot before I go for competitive games.

I do not want to see this at all. I don't want a controller with intentionally crippled functionality, especially for the premium price being charged.

It alienates a lot of people who don't go to tournaments and want functionality. It should have all of the same functions of the stock controller at the very least. That's my main disappointment with the new Mad Catz PS3/4 TE2s.

All of the gamepad's buttons should be there in some form, IMO on the main controller line being offered. Now if they want to make an alternate stripped-down version, that's fine, but it should be an alternate option.

Yes.

Maybe an anniversary PS3/PS4 stick by Hori, influenced by the old Hori Namco stick. Only 6 action buttons, and no turbo shit and yellow Kuro buttons and Hayabasa stick.

TE2 doesn't have a turbo panel.

Pretty sure licensed sticks are required to at least have all 8 buttons on the controller, start/options, and home.

Yeah, those are probably mandated. Sony should probably mandate the touchpad click too, since it's essentially the new select button. I'd rather that than the share button.
