haha funny, we famous y'all

Man I remember the first RP Jan thread, all the NeoGAF hate groups just about had an apoplexy cause we were all so fucking pretty it made their sad little lives so much worse.

Of course, most of those forums are just 5 former members who got banned for racism and/or misogyny building some psycho serial killer shine to how much they hate (but secretly love) NeoGAF.

have you been watching Hey, Arnold! again?

NeoGaf's the girl these emotional infants got rejected by, and now they feel the need to tell everyone who will listen what a bitch she is.

I've actually never seen an episode of Hey Arnold, it came out at the wrong time for me to watch it as a kid or for my kid to watch it.
do you now some of the characters though? there's thsi one girl who is obbessed with the main guy, but publicly, she's a bully to him. she has a shrine in her bedroom closet to him

THIS. Have you guys seen that shit? It's brutal. Still, I'm considering participating. Fuck 'em. Love this place.

EDIT: oh, see someone posted a link lol.

who cares what they say lol. Motherfuckers talk so much shit about me like 24/7, their obsession is hilarious. Laugh all the way to the bank, shit is rich :D

It's like how I always feel a little sad when I see a youtube link from GAF posted but no "Amir0x is gay" comment. It's tradition!

Don't consider, just do it man. Life's too short to worry about internet sociopaths.

So yeah, I'm in the middle of planning a big renovation to my front and back yard areas. Planning on doing a bunch of raised garden beds with cinder blocks to form perimeters. Think I'll put marigolds in the cinderblock holes and grow some vegetables in the centers.

I've never played a Metal Gear. It's too late for me.

it's never too late. I actually just started the first one on an emulator a few weeks back. trying to go through the whole series but I don't know if I will make it. I've always been obsessed with metal gear trailers and music and stuff though.

Never played a single Metal Gear, it just strikes me as incredibly convoluted storyline and I've never been a fan of stealth action games.

Goddamn I'm glad I jumped on the LOST train again, this final season has been superb so far (episode 4.) I miss this show, and lament the fact that no other TV-show has picked up the mantle afterwards.

If you're looking forward to playing MGSV you could always just play the big boss saga

Should I start with Metal Gear or MGS? I'm in a weird place where I know the some of the plotlines, but I have no idea what tone the games have.

I may not happen again either, it was such a fluke that the pilot got made at all.

I have played MGS2 and I still have no idea what sort of tone the game has.

That said, I think MGS is supposedly a fine starting point.

I have all the MGS games the only reason I don't got GZ is because the Ineitable CE will include both games.

Oh yes, probably, but I'll get it when it is discounted, just as a bit of a demo. Want to see good it looks on the PC too.

MGS3 > Portable ops ( lol it's not canon imo ) > PW > GZ > TPP > MG1 > MG2 > MGS > MGS 2 > MGS4

Or release date order, or play them by big boss saga and solid saga however you prefer.

Just start with MGS goat ps1 game.

you totally should! I'm enjoying it immensly so far. gameplay may take some time to get into considering it's ps1 but it's still good and the dialogues and narrative are better executed than in most recent games. I'm really becoming a hardcore kojima fangirl.

Morning Guyz and Galz!

MGS, ahh what a conversation to start off the day. My friend is a hardcore MGS fan, played every single one of them and it took him 2 hours to explain the entire timeline chronologically to me in which I still didn't understand what was going on lol, so at this point... I think I should just play it myself and learn it the hard way.

Now I think there's like two MGS collections. Which one should I start off with?

You aren't missing much. I've played 2-3-4 and wasn't all that impressed.

sorry

the only one I finished was twin snakes and I had enough of it,

it's an interesting premise but with an incredibly annoying cast.

Snake is an emo-mercenary.

think FF7's Cloud but in a military.setting

I think there is only one collection that differs a bit depending on the region, but it is a good one. But it doesn't include MGS1, or 4.

I started with MGS2 and it seemed to go okay.

HD collection, get MGS off psn ( or emulation ) and buy mgs4 which is dirt cheap like 5 bucks or so... If you want the entire collection you could get ground zeroes for like 10 bucks.

The story is pretty straight forward mgs4 is where everything might seem like a mess.

That orange thing, yep thats me!

Skip 1,2,3,4, Peace Walkers and Ground Zeros. Just play MGR.

Even worse advice!

I'mma have to step in here.

At least play 1,2, and 3. These are the best of the series (especially 2&3). If you're still diggin the series play 4, just know it's some goofy shit. Peace Walker can be skipped honestly, but you'll want to read a plot summary if you are planning on playing 5 (which you should do, because based on Ground Zeroes it will be amazing).

You can play Metal Gear 1 and 2 if you're REALLY into the series, but they are not necessary for the storyline, and diving into them first might put you off the series as they are pretty old.

Play 1 on Vita or an emulator, 2, 3, and Peace Walker in their HD collection forms (although 2&3 are good on vita because you can use sleep mode if you can't make it through the lengthy cutscenes in one go).

And only play in release order.

I had the same feelings, which is why I'm so glad Giant Bomb has been doing their Metal Gear Scanlon series. Let's me see what all the hubub is about without having to grasp all the crazy controls.

It has made me excited for 5 though for whatever reason.

I got Sons of the Liberty for Christmas with a PS2. I remember playing the demo for that game at my friends and finally getting the full game at Christmas with a PS2.

My family is pretty awful, but I had some good Christmas memories with them growing up.

Edit: butchered the name lol mixing game names up. More like combining. I haven't played the remaster of Sons. I have a Vita. Should I? Been a long time.

SO whats suposed to do here?

Just post random stuff?

Ok, I have a severe case of gastrithis or stomach ulcers or whatever the name is and Im at work, I need some omeprazols to fix it.

I beat MGS4 so I got that one down, but I definitely need to get the rest. Thanks for the advice. I always thought there was two collections but maybe I was tripping or something. Metal Gear Rising into connected at any point?

Honestly the demo in Zone of the Enders was my favorite MGS experience. Nothing can compete with the hype my friends and I had built up for the game based on that short little thing.

I am almost positive my friend has a copy of MGS for PS1 and if he does I am definitely going to play it.

I can barely afford Gaf, let alone GB Premium. All the avatar change surcharge fees...

There's a legacy collection but that's too expensive.

Nope rising is just a spin-off pretty good action game though.

Yeah that is what I meant. A buddy of mine had this and we played it over and over. Then christmas I got a PS2 and the full game. Was so glorious.

Cool beans! I see GZ is like $6 on PSN so I'm gonna scoop that and grab the collection too. Oh god, I'm actually dreading playing it lol. It's been so many years since the PS1 that I have to bare those block pixels lol
