Thank you everyone at PlatinumGames for your hard work, and for making my game of the year for 2014. Here's to 2015 and beyond!

Hi everyone, Happy New Year from PlatinumGames.

In 2014, we were able to see the sequel to Bayonetta, our flagship title, released to the world, as well as the release of The Legend of Korra, a game available only outside of Japan.

I’d like to express my thanks to all of our fans who supported us by purchasing and playing these titles, and to the staff who worked so hard to make these games’ releases possible.

As a video game developer, a new year doesn’t actually mark an achievement in the history of our company. Our milestones are made when we finish a game and can release it to our fans. Each of those successive milestones has brought PlatinumGames to where it is today.

One way we gauge the success of a game is if our users finish it and think, “I want more.” We strongly believe that Bayonetta 2 would not have been possible without the critical reception of the first. Both of these games represent important milestones for our company, and we are deeply proud of them.

Our other release of 2014, “The Legend of Korra,” involved the game adaptation of a highly popular TV show in the west that has never been released in Japan. The fact that we, a Japanese company, were entrusted with this property, reaffirmed our faith that PlatinumGames is respected across the world. This too, may have been a major turning point for us.

Looking back on last year, PlatinumGames may have advanced from where we were before 2014. Something tells me that, at least. To use videogame parlance, , I feel we’ve come to our second playthrough.

In video games, there’s a term called “New Game +”. This is a term for starting the second run of a game with all the experience from your first playthrough carried over.

In a New Game +, you’re powerful enough that you can mostly button mash your way through the repeated areas of the game with little trouble at all, but that’s not what we mean when we say we’re on our second playthrough. We intend to challenge ourselves and explore possibilities we may not have been able to realize until now. This is the attitude we try to maintain everyday as we come to work.

The video game industry is one that is ever-changing. New technology and approaches to game development are introduced daily, constantly giving our staff volumes of new study material. We can’t rely on our past experience to get us through everything. We intend to press forward strongly in 2015, experimenting with new ideas for how to give our fans across the world a thrilling user experience that could only come from Platinum. Thank you as always for all your support.

So what they're saying is it's their Revengeance / Climax playthrough?

After that survey and more pictures of Kojmia at Platnium, id say chances of Rising 2 are good. I enjoyed Korra and look forward to Scalebound.

Bayonetta 2 was far better than I could have ever imagined. Amazing work P+!

Can't wait to see what you guys bring in 2015

Nintendo exclusive. Microsoft exclusive. Time for a Sony exclusive. All about keeping the world in balance etc.

Also looking forward to what they do with Scalebound. I'm not expecting it until 2016 since Microsoft already has a pretty stacked late 2015, but I imagine we'll see something more substantial this year. I hope it's something I like.

At first I was surprised that Kamiya used his greeting to talk about his waifus. Then I remembered it was Kamiya

Minami's new haircut is pretty badass, I think I didn't see him since he was in Capcom.

True. MGR2 is the first idea that comes to the mind, but I'd let it multiplatform and to make a new IP instead, maybe with the help of some talented friends they may have in Sony.

Is secretly hoping they're working with miyamoto on the new star fox.
If. Not. bring on rising two. ReReVengence
Miyamoto said Starfox is being developed in house. I wouldnt expect a MGR2 announcement anytime soon either, Konami will be pushing Phantom Pain all year

Platinum Games is something special. They seemingly do the games they want to do. If only they had the rights to Okami~

I have no idea how they keep on making the game they wants (and a lot of new IPs) while here in the west you can sell like 2 million copies of a game and be shutdown.

I hope we get a full-blown Legend of Korra game. It was fun for what it was, but if Platinum's A Team made it, it would be so much better.

Time for Platinum to revive Sony's Skyblazer!

It was God of War and DMC before either game. And was also made by ex Capcom guys. So as a bunch of ex Capcom guys themselves it makes perfect sense for them to do a new game of a sony ip made by ex Capcom guys.

Platinum is the best Japanese company. I love them and their games so much it hurts. Forgive me for not buying Infinite Space, but I've bought everything else :P

I laughed at JP with the Kamiya-Blocked stamp.

Happy New Year from the Spaniard near the end :)

(looking quite awkward in the video, woops! They put the camera way too close to my face hahah)
Awesome!

If they make a game harder to play than W101, I will simply vomit
WITH JOY

But seriously, they're all that's good with games these days. More color, more customization, longer fights, etc, etc, so on and so forth. Hails all around!

I feel it's time for a unique story starring Gay Fox. They need to expand their horizons. I'm tired of the same old people. Raiden's time is up, Batista's time is now.
