Pretty sure he was talking about rhose countries being negligible for Xbone.
It's a silly argument no matter what he was talking about.

Xbox is the Joe Flacco of gaming. Sleep for 10 months of the year, but he's a beast when he finally gets out of bed.
works double because Xbox only does well in US, just like American football only exists here *shots fired*
Is this post sarcasm?
The Morpheus man. Just you wait.Mmm hmm...
I'm not refering to PS4 as empty, more Sony's hubris surrounding it relative to the fact that they really aren't doing a lot with it besides watching it print money.
But that said, if anyone was going to make a console which feels truly next gen, it was Sony, and I don't believe they achieved that.
That was back in November.
They sold 1.2 mil in Nov in NA....lets add another 600k for rest of world.
Who knows how much they sold in December. Apparently you sell more in December, so 1.5 mil in NA, and 700k in rest of world?
So 4 mill plus that 10 mill shipped, you get 13 mil sold through?
I pulled almost every number out of my arse.

"Ignorance is bliss." But seriously, I was referring to X1 sales worldwide, not PS4.UK PS4 sales: 1 million of September 9
Germany PS4 sales: 1 million as of October 21
"Negligable". Yeah, stay ignorant.

Well it's guestimates just like yours. You don't know how much the X1 sold in December besides estimates like "it should have sold" or it "probably sold". So I don't see your point. It's a silly argument no matter what he was talking about.
There was a thread here at the end of 2012 in which 95% of people thought that it was MS that was most likely going to make the most powerful next gen console...
Actually it wasn't even "most likely". People were sure of it.
when they said "soon." Look at the shipment numbers Aqua posted earlier in this thread. They were almost assuredly talking about their projected shipments by the end of the year. Of those ~10M shipped by Dec. 31st, probably less than 9M will have sold through by now. Maybe quite a bit less, when you consider how slowly it's moving everywhere that's not the US or UK; other countries are likely sitting on a good bit of unsold stock. That was back in November.
Yes.I pulled almost every number out of my arse.
While Xbox One isn't selling poorly, I think they kind of needed to be in Sony's position in sales right about now to silence the voices in that company calling for the Xbox Division to close down.
I really do think this is their last shot at making it substantially profitable, or we don't see another Xbox. They took losses for almost a decade only to have the 360 barely making a profit each year (and that isn't enough when you factor in opportunity cost)

I saw Aqua's list, but thought I'd add the sold-through trend via Sony's public announcements. I feel like I might be missing one, but this is what I could find via a quick search:
1m in first 24 hours
2.1m as of December 1st 2013
4.2m as of December 28th, 2013
5.3m as of February 8th, 2014
7m as of April 6th, 2014
10m as of August 10th, 2014
18.5m as of January 2, 2015
PS3.Price drop for what

They announced 6 million soon after the launch in Japan.

Wait so you are saying the PS4 doesn't have great games?A shame it has nothing to do with great games though.
Nintendo doesn't care about their fanbase?
Since when?
I can't speak for everybody, but i'm a very happy Nintendo customer. I don't see why you have to attack Nintendo in a thread about PS4 sales.
Okay then. I'll call it small compared to the US/UK, which are doing the heavy lifting.Regardless of the exact numbers and whether I'm right or not, the percentage of the ROTW sales is too large to be called "negligible."
Right, but Sony didn't start counting those 4.1M until like 11/23, so only a small fraction of those 1.2M Bones were head-to-head with what Sony was counting. So in the six or so weeks Sony was referring to, it's probably more like 4.1M to maybe 1.5M-2M, so a difference of 2M+.It's always fun seeing people talk about NPD as if it is worldwide sales numbers lol.
Sony just said they sold 4.1 million consoles over the holidays alone. MS sold 1 mil or whatever in the US in November. Even with equal numbers in December that still leaves 2 million consoles to get somewhere else. Unfortunately the X1 is dead everywhere except the UK. So they likely got outsold by 1.5 mill or so during the holiday season.

I think some of that is offset by the success of LIVE. Having that many subscribers to market and sell to, has value and cache. The value proposition of PSN and LIVE is probably worth the pain to many investors / shareholders.
Someone with the skills could make a nice curve out of this.
Very cool.
This shouldn't be a pissing contest between multinationals, rather we should appreciate the amount of people willing to buy gaming hardware and the expansion of the industry.
Too lazy to look up exact numbers now, but the sum total of Microsoft's Xbox venture since 2001 is still several billion USD in the red. Xbone's launch has increased the deficit. Xbox LIVE profits are nowhere near enough to offset the losses incurred during the past 14 years.
Slightly above what I thought it would be but near enough
PS4 is truly doing stellar so far, Sony's next quarterly should be interesting to see shipped
So what's xbox one at now?

We should be so lucky. I doubt they'll ever give up though, especially after the success of the 360.While Xbox One isn't selling poorly, I think they kind of needed to be in Sony's position in sales right about now to silence the voices in that company calling for the Xbox Division to close down.

No one knows, but I'd imagine 9 million at the most.

sdk offers 80% more cpu power.
Fart billions.MS has money to burn. Seriously, they do.
Life is but a game for MS.
