There was a racist comment by John Layfield saying that they found these guys on a raft in the gulf of Mexico insinuating they are illegal since they are Mexican. I would like to know if there is something that can be done about this or if there is a place where racism against Hispanics can be reported? I feel like he should be fired or atleast suspended for this comment.

-edit- This is only one piece of a very real problem in the wrestling industry. If you would like to support a cause to end racism in wrestling please use the hashtag #wrestlecism on twitter.

Lol Bobo, while it is inexcusable, think about the Demo and all the other questionable shit that goes on (and has gone on) in WWE.

The whole We The People act was disgusting.

maybe they came from a boat that crashed and they had a raft and the WWE saved them and trained them to be wrestlers

or something

I'm sorry to tell you this friend, but this isn't new.

The WWE has always done this. Always. I'm not familiar with WCW, But I'd wager they did it too, as has every wrestling organization ever, as has every other entertainment medium.

Announcers, wrestler gimmicks, ect. It's offensive, but it's old news, and they'll never actually get in trouble for it.

Maybe JBL's stuff in 2004 where he "defended the border" from immigrants was actually not in character...

I've heard that JBL is basically Vince's voice now, so not suprising that racist things were said. They got in hot water earlier this year for the incidents around Del Rio's firing.

The guy was doing color commentary. What's the problem? He's supposed to be offensive. It's part of being a heel. I'm hispanic, cuban parents, not a big deal to me.

Plus he also got banned from doing his financial segments on the actual news because he was caught mocking germans by heiling and goose stepping in their country. Guy goes a little too far on trying to anger various countries.

Not that I think it would make it much better, if at all, but isn't JBL's character basically a stereotypical out-of-touch Super Conservative? That seems like something he'd say, even if the man himself doesn't believe it.

I mean, by the time I got out of watching WWE, JBL was helping the border guards keep illegal immigrants out.

As one wise man once said: wrestling is fake but it's race problem isn't.

Also, I don't know where you can report it but I agree that something should be done about this.

This is nothing new really. That whole Real Americans shit with Zeb Colter was even more racist and disgusting. Pandering to dat xenophobic audience.

The news, I suppose there's some hispanic civil rights groups? I'm not sure what else you're looking for in particular if you mean like a government entity since airing racist stuff is not illegal.

The WWE has done this with racial and national stereotypes all the time.

They are so freeform with their commentary you'll certainly catch unfavourable sexist of homophobic innuendo. It's just a classless medium.

But yeah, take it to Twitter. They'll probably use the "it's just a character" out, though.

So is there not something like the NAACP for hispanics where I could send a complaint? WWE made Big Show apologize over an offensive promo to Russians. We need JBL to apologize or be suspended.

WWE is racist..?

Zeb's character and angle was one of my favorite things from the WWE in a very long time. I'm far from a xenophobe.

Dude, he was in character. It's like getting mad at a movie character for being racist. The guy is being a heel, and said something you didn't like on the spot. It's all part of the act. Doesn't mean the actual guy is racist.

It was not the promo it was Big Show tearing down that Big Russian flag that got him to apologize.

JBL literally had a segment where he went to border and threw out illegal immigrants trying to cross.

that was pretty tame for him

Eddie Guerrero's tagline was Lie, Cheat, Steal.

The WWE is just a cartoon of stereotypes and exaggerations, not to be taken seriously.

Loved the racist patriot angle. And sad it became the good guy patriot angle.

People saying it's okay because he was a heel are right if the faces had shut him down or if they had pointed that out.

But they were all bitching at the same time so it didn't come off as that at all.

So if it was 2 african american wrestlers it would have been ok for him to say that Ascension found them shucking and jiving across a cotton field? He has a history of being racist in real life as posted above.
