Nakasendo (new track coming to DRIVECLUB)

If a flying camera was out in the rain, it would be getting wet too, would it not? Besides, as already stated its a balance issue.

Yeah that's what i meant actually, since there is no flying cam in real life which follows car as fast as car goes there is no reason to push the realism and logic in to it.

I guess it's a choice. If i want more immersion i would use cockpit view with rain droplets on window etc. And a clear screen and no distraction on outer cam to see everything better.

Please tell me there is an option to turn off rain drops off on screen at outer camera. That looks so distracting and ugly. Can't see the car and scenery properly.

That's the point. It's the only way to balance different camera views.

EDIT: Beaten like a flying camera.

If they released a second season pass after this one ends id buy it.

(I know the tracks are free)

IIRC they're treating the game as a "service" and it seems possible there will be a second season pass (depending of course on demand and whatever)

Ahhhhh, DriveClub. Or as I like to call it "the smash into alternating sides of the track until I come in last game"

Slow down for turns! The game's actually quite good at warning you about turns. Green = probably good even without letting up gas, Yellow = let off gas, maybe break a teeny bit Red = this is gonna suck

Or you can just turn off the rain completely so it doesn't obscure your view....just a thought...

Cars are followed by drones with cameras and stealth tech equipped. They are basically invisible to the eye, but the lens can get wet ;).

I wonder what the plan is post July. They have been positioning the game as a service after all. I wonder if they plan to continue with monthly content.

That's interesting. I'd love if Driveclub was the base game and they just made a DLC which was basically "Driveclub 2" which is basically an expansion from the first game, just to avoid switching disc stuff etc. I'd pay £30-40 for a set of new locations with a whole new roster of cars.

Oh for Pete's sake people, the rain isn't just a visual effect, it's there for added challenge via road conditions AND visibility. A challenge in heavy rainfall would be pointless if you could just chase cam and not be affected.

I'm still trying to get the feel of everything. My brain wants every racing game to control like Mario Kart and that's just not the case here. I'm not even sure if I'm drifting properly at this point.

Drifting is by far the hardest part to get used to IMO. But no, it's not mario kart and you're totally going to have to slow down or even break for some turns. Drifting will take a lot of getting used to at first, I recommend ignoring it at first or going on an endless single event time trial and practicing (you'll know when you do it right because you get fame)

As-is the chase cam is already an unfair advantage, heavy rain is often very hard to see in behind the windshield and much better in the outside cams. But yes, weather is not just cosmetic by any means. I wanted to see the pretty rain so I started in a new car, new track, heavy rain. Very bad idea, spun out all over the place. Really gotta know the track and take care.

Yeah, it'd be great if we could at least get another year's worth of dlc car packs after July.

This season pass is really worth it and still much content to come :-o

That part looks awesome, driving this in the dark with Initial D Night of Fire

Its going to be beautiful

I'd be up for this. I think it comes down to how profitable it is. The game needs to continue to sell (season pass included) for something like that to be viable. Sales has fallen off a cliff in the US (UK still seems to do ok). Hopefully the PS+ version rejuvenates interest, but we have no idea when that will become feasible.

Full track looks incredible. Great sense of scale, especially when you end up driving under the bridge you crossed earlier in the track, from what it looks like.
