Not sure how I feel about the song choice yet. Will have to wait for the full OP.
I feel that Tales doesn't really need TP too. CC is a much better resource for the kind of game Tales is.
Especially because most of the time there is little management. Healers and magicians have a "use X gel" when TP is lower than Y%. And with the others characters you equip mid game enough skills to recover / keep TP high enough (like 1% for each 9 hits, 10% after defeating an enemy...). TP is a hassle, the game is not suited for TP management.
CC + damage penalty for Artes if you spam the same one over and over again looks like a better solution. Paying attention to elemental weaknesses like Xillia 2 did would be cool, especially because Tengoku fusions are element based. An the aura system from Graces (no skills, make it a Base mechanic. In Xillia 2 the system didn't worked as well because it was tied to a skill).
Switching party members on battle was cool in Xillia, but it's not on my top requests. My dream Tales is a mix of Graces and Xillia 2 mechanics.

Jade Curtiss from Tales of the Abyss will appear in Zestiria.

One of the shots has him using Vengeant Fangs. Also one of the sources says that there are EX dungeons around the world and that cameo characters can accompany Sorey...not sure if that's true yet.

Wants to destroy the world. So evilll.

Side note, anyone making an Import OT? Or business as usual here?
Finally got around to pre-ordering a copy of this last night, lol
Field Exploration
By pressing R1 you will be able to see these things displayed on the screen :
- Your current objective, you can see a star symbol above the characters/NPC that you need to talk to in order to trigger the main story (gold star) or subevent (purple star).
- The effect of your food (there will also be a number which represents the remaining usage of the food).
- The effect of your snack (this is one-time use so the effect will be valid only for the next battle).
Other than that you can also see the available map actions and the notification to press select button in order to trigger chat/skit.
Other things that you can find/do on the field :
- Discovery and stone monument, by finding stone monument your AP that's needed for Battle Act will increase and you will also get battle advice that you can view anytime from the system book.
- Treasure chests and herbs.
- Norumin, by finding these little guys your current equipment will be granted with specific skills and you can also set these guys which will be explained later.
- Talk to your companion who follows you to get various hints for your adventure and to know their feelings.
World Map
- You can buy maps from turtlez which will allow you to visit new areas.
- By borrowing the power of the Seraphs you can execute map actions (square +d-pads) which will really help you on your adventure (you can use map actions to hide your presence from the enemy, destroy obstacles, jump over cliffs, etc)
Town
a. Inn and food/cooking
- By resting at the inn you can recover your HP and SC
- You can only eat/use food during your stay at the inn.
- Depending on the amount of times you have used a food, the food that you can choose/use will increase.
- You can trigger a chat/skit and learn a new Support Talent by staying at the inn or by eating food.
b. Shop
- To increase the shop rank you can either buy or sell things.
- Same equipments can have different skills attached.
- Shop will only sell 1 of each equipments but don't worry enemy will also drop equipments.
- You can fuse same equipments to make them stronger.
c. Lord of the Land (The Divine Protection of the Seraphs), so by giving the Divine Protection of the Seraphs to the designated NPC you can turn them into Lord of the Land
- After a certain event in the story you'll be able to warp between save points by paying Gald. The cost of the warp between areas that already has Lord of the Land can be lowered.
- You can increase the level of your Divine Protection by using GRADE that you've acquired in that particular area.
- Setting up Blessings, so through Lord of the Land you can set up blessings which will grant you various bonuses (reduce warp cost, make treasure chests respawn, etc) in that area. The amount of Blessings that you can set will increase along with your Divine Protection level.
- Setting up Norumin that you have found on your travel will make it easier for the enemy to drop equipments with a specific skill attached to it and will also increase the enemy's level. Just like the Blessings, the number of Norumin that you can set will increase along with your Divine Protection level.
- Item Offering, you can offer your items to Lord of the Land and change it into GRADE which you can use to increase your Divine Protection level but because the amount of GRADE received isn't that much, it's still fundamentally better to earn most of your GRADE from battle.
Support Talent
- Each character can only equip 1 talent but you're free to change it anytime.
- There's a proficiency level, higher level will yield various results depending on the talent.
- By triggering chat/skit at the inn, a new support skill may be learned.
- Talents that can be learned differ between characters.
Some examples of Support Talent :
- Making Snack : The type of the snacks will change depending on the proficiency level and the character's taste.
- Sense of Treasure : You will be told if there are treasure chest or herb nearby. By increasing the proficiency level and the number of people using this talent, the perception range will extend.
- Sense of Design : You will be told if there are Discovery or stone monument nearby. By increasing the proficiency level and the number of people using this talent, the perception range will extend.
- Synthesizing Medicine : Support Talent that can produce apple gel, life bottle, etc. High proficiency level will make the process much faster.
- Managing and Maintaining Peace : Regenerate HP gradually while moving on the field and dungeon. You will also be told when a character is low in HP.
- Fusion : Support Talent that will allow you to gather up points while moving which then can be used to do fusion anywhere. The points needed vary depending on the item.
Battle Act
- All party members will receive the effect of the Battle Acts that have been set.
- You can learn new Battle Act at the end of battle by finishing certain requirements that you can see on the Battle Act menu.
- The AP needed to set Battle Acts are gotten from finding Discovery and stone monument.
Some examples of Battle Act :
- A Guard : Your character will be able to guard automatically when possible during enemy's attack.
- Free & Free : Enable Free Run
- Reviver : When you're getting killed while in Armatization Mode, the transformation will be cancelled and the Seraph will sacrifice him/herself in order to save the human character once.
Spirit Chain
-There are benefits and drawbacks to having higher and lower amounts of SC, similar to RG in Rebirth or EG in Hearts. Having high SC gives you a faster recovery rate, a reduction in damage received, and a higher activation rate of bonus effects. Having low SC gives you a slower recovery rate, and a increase in damage given.
Blast Gauge
-BG fills over time, by taking damage, and by doing certain actions.
-It's consumed by various things, like fusing and Battle Acts.
-If your BG stock is low, actions will fill the gauge more.
Tokugi, Ougi, and Tenkyoujutsu
-It does confirm that a target using an Ougi attack won't get staggered by a Tokugi attack.
-As you link a number of the various attack types, you can get special effects. Linking Tokugi attacks will give you reduced SC consumption, linking Ougi attacks will give you increased damage, linking Tenkyoujutsu will increase stagger time, and casting time is reduced as you link any attacks.
Steps
-There's the side step, front step, and back step. It confirms that these actions use SC. There's also the other stuff I mentioned before about recovering SC and lowering the enemy's attack frequency if you successfully time a dodge.
Weaknesses
-There are five elements: Void/None, Fire, Water, Wind, and Earth. In addition to that, there are 11 enemy categories: Beast, Shell, Amorphous, Legless, Winged, Beastman, Armored, Undead, Fiend, Dragon, and Human (don't remember what all of these categories were in Graces if they were in that).
-Hitting an enemy's weakpoint deals additional damage and gives you back 30% of consumed SC.
-Hitting a resistance will lower damage given and decrease your SC recovery rate.
Source: Link- Jade is lost in the world of Zestiria. He cannot see Hyouma, so its tough for him to fight.
- Nothing is said about whether or not Jade is a coliseum character or a boss of the last dungeon.
- Also no comment on whether or not he joins your party
-Mikleos fringe hides it, but he is usually equipped with a circlet.
- You can warp from the save points you touch, but you have to pay a fee.
- Some treasure chests require a key to open. Some are refilled after time passes.
- Food can only be eaten in inns. The cost of staying the inn changes with the food you order. Skits will activate depending on the type of food you eat and the frequency.
- Shops are upgraded in rank as you buy things, and increase in grade as well
- Mikleo is good at making sweets/candy
- Costumes and attachments are available from the main story and subevents.
- In battle, there can only be two humans and two tenzoku for a total of four members. In cases where your party has one human and three tenzoku, only two members will participate in battle.
- Tenzoku who dont participate in battle will gradually recover their HP.
- There are 5 elements: Fire, Water, Earth, Wind, Void
- Pressing R2 while merged with a tenzoku will activate a special healing arte. Cast time is 1 second and heals all members.
- Majinken/Demon Fang goes to Alisha.
- Mikleo is the main healer
- TOZ has a very fantasy-style finish
- Both humans and Tenzoku, if they faint in battle, are instantly revived if you activate kamui mode with them.
- If you link Sorey with a fainted Tenzoku, they will gradually recover hp
- Food can only be eaten in inns. The cost of staying the inn changes with the food you order. Skits will activate depending on the type of food you eat and the frequency.
Oh, come the fuck on. Again?- Shops are upgraded in rank as you buy things, and increase in grade as well
Main healer is a male? FOR WHAT PURPOSE?- Mikleo is the main healer
Main healer is a male? FOR WHAT PURPOSE?
Somebody should make an Import OT, yes.

Quite a lot of interesting changes away from Tales tropes though. Reloading chests especially is gonna drive my OCD up the wall :| (I guess... it's not too different from sparkly spots)
edit: And yes I know how it sounds like that's my biggest gripe hahahahah
Sorey = a traveling Jesus confirmed =P- Lord of the Land (The Divine Protection of the Seraphs), so by giving the Divine Protection of the Seraphs to the designated NPC you can turn them into Lord of the Land

For now I'll take that as a welcome confirmation that GRADE primarily grades one's battle performance again...- Item Offering, you can offer your items to Lord of the Land and change it into GRADE which you can use to increase your Divine Protection level but because the amount of GRADE received isn't that much, it's still fundamentally better to earn most of your GRADE from battle.
This stuff makes me giddy. I really hope it's as consequential as or even more so than in Rebirth, the implementation in Hearts was so tame to be mostly disappointingly negligible.Spirit Chain

...and it was a surprise to nobody...- In battle, there can only be two humans and two tenzoku for a total of four members. In cases where your party has one human and three tenzoku, only two members will participate in battle.
This made me laugh out loud though. "Can't have a dead character prevent the execution of higher level battle systems, make them instantly revive if necessary!!!" So bleh, this whole aspect. I guess I better forget 4 player multiplayer right away...- Both humans and Tenzoku, if they faint in battle, are instantly revived if you activate kamui mode with them.
Gotta keep changing something to keep the game systems fresh. Even if it's a downgrade. Why do they keep making cooking worse? It's actually kinda funny at this point.
Sorey = a traveling Jesus confirmed =P
It was silly for me to think that this game wouldn't have something to upset me. I guess Tales of Graces will be the closest we ever get to perfect auxiliary systems. Shop ranks, inn-only food, come on.
Lol @ you people. The game will be awesome, no worries.
I didn't know people cared so much for cooking. I barely use it, besides XP boosts, I guess.
I'm pretty sure they don't sit around a big table and say "Hmm... this game doesn't suck enough. Let's make it worse!"
I mean what are they, Ubisoft?
- You can warp from the save points you touch, but you have to pay a fee.
Oh good because making it convenient was really causing a problem

I think it's because they want you to explore, rather than just jumping to the next waypoint marker.
Did Skyrim not charge for fast travel? I don't remember.
I can't think of many games that do charge for fast travel - I imagine it's a consequence of games that charge for fast travel being forgettable.I think it's because they want you to explore, rather than just jumping to the next waypoint marker.
