Winnie the Pooh Lied to Me About Honey (Pics Included)

I remember back in the day watching Winnie the Pooh and saw Pooh eating honey. And I was all like "damn that looks fucking good!" Little did I know, that honey, the IRL version, was nothing like the cartoon. Instead of the meaty/buttery/chalk-full-of-protein liquid thick substance I imagined my tongue instead graced a very sugary and syrupy texture that was honey. My childhood was partially ruined that day, I was seven.

When I was little I used to imagine he was eating boiled egg yolk. So I guess me and OP are kind of on the same track.

But honey is delicious, especially with clotted cream.

no, real raw honey looks like this :

It's thicker. I've got a friend who made his own. I don't like industrial honey but his is just beyond amazing. I even get a couple of bee legs or wings sometimes in it but hey, it doesn't spoil the amazing taste

uh dude he straight up says "time for something sweet" in one of his many honey fantasy songs. Did you want like...Crisco-gravy?

I love honey. Needs to be used right but it's good, real good.

That's not what real honey looks like... this is what honey looks like when retrieved from the comb without processing.

It's more wax than syrup.

We bought a couple of combs from a local guy, the taste is just amazing.

There are 2 or more types of honey... but I'm not sure if the white/thicker honey is completely natural.

Well if done correctly then it is indeed completely natural.

The taste of raw honey also really depends on which kind of nectar the bees ingested.

The honey in Winnie the Pooh resembles melted cheese more than it does honey. At least, that's what I think.

No wonder Winnie the Pooh is round and rumbly tumbly... he's hauling around a bucket of queso wherever he goes. He gets leaves and sticks in that shit and that doesn't stop him. He'll just continue to engorge himself.

Yeah, well, cow and chicken told me cows look like this.
latest

I went to Walmart and apparently, this is what cow actually looks like? What the fuck?

he LIED about the consistency of honey

LIED!!

Yeah you know what? Winnie the Pooh didn't lie, the OP just jumped to conclusions.

At no point in the run of Winnie the Pooh did he ever sit down and mechanically go over, in detail, the consistency, texture, flavor and overall quality of his honey.

That's on you OP.

WTH?!!

My dad has several hives in his backyard and his honey ends up closer to what you call "industrial honey".

Note: the only "processing" he does is scrap off the wax layer and put it into a spinning extractor where the honey drips down thru a cloth filter into a pail.

Again, I'll have to disagree - at least, that is not what we get up here in the Northeast US. Honey right from the hive comes out more as a "syrup" than what you have pictured there.

Does he heat it in the process?

How...how are you disagreeing with a photo? "Here is a photo of honey that looks different." "Welp, I disagree."

Honey is still good and a healthy food to consume.

Honey on toast? Delish~
Honey on icecream? Mmmmm-mmm~
Honey on Chappati bread? *licks lips*

Also Honey+Lemon can help sour throats and colds.

It's really good. I've had raw honey that's like some sort of really thick off-white thing. I couldn't even tell you what the consistency is - I'm not sure what to compare it to. It's definitely honey - just a little different. Tastes great on toast!

Mmmm. I'm gonna have some of that tonight. Some honey on some cinnamon toast.
