RocketBeansTV - the first 24/7 Twitch.tv GamingShow on the Internet

Hello GAF!
This is my first major topic and with it I'm trying to get your attention on a German project by the guys who created the "famous" Show "GameOne".

Official Teaser Trailer
So (German) GAF - don't forget to tune in

starting 15.01.2015 at 19 CET ( for your American fellows follow this link: Timezones )

on

Twitch.tv

Backstory
Seven years ago Daniel Budiman and Simon Krätschmer started with an underdog Tv-show about games.
With a small budget and many puns they defined their format by short 15 minutes episodes which are full of content and puns.
I'm talking about GameOne - maybe some of you already heard of it even outside of Germany.
With a growing team and in astounding 307 episodes the team established themselves an unbelievable supportive community. Events like occasional Livestreams,
Podcasts and so on helped to keep everything fresh outside of the weekly episode.

You can find all of this on GameOne.

Sadly, after seven years, GameOne came to an end in 2014.
But the core of GameOne gathered together and try to create something innovative.
Based on a side project by some of the former GameOne Members, called RocketBeans,
the team tries to create the first 24/7 LiveStream in the format of a gaming show.
RocketBeansTV
RocketBeans is different from other YouTube Channels. No Hardcuts, no sellouts.
The whole team is purely about their obesssion with games and other "important" stuff that happens.
For ~2 years now Daniel, Simon, Eddy and Nils talked. They talked about a lot of stuff.

Their Almost Dailies are legendary amongst fans. The team sits down and talks about a topic.
Can be a game, can be movies, can be sex. Sometimes they invite people to discuss with them.
E.g. Nick Pope went to RocketBeans to talk about his work with UFOs.

Almost Dailies

Furthermore there are some shows just for fun - Baking Bad for example, where two totally untalented guys try to create something delicious like Super Bread.

Baking Bad

Or tune in to Kino+ where Daniel Schröckert and Eddy talk about upcoming movies and trailers.

Kino+

One of the highlights is their Pen & Paper round. They live streamed a custom made PnP Universe called "Tears" which consists of a postapocalyptic world overrun with zombies.

Pen & Paper

The guys are really something special. For me it's one of the best and most fun shows I've ever seen because it's so natural and not scripted.
Their chaotic approach on most of the stuff they do and their different personalities do not fail to entertain.

If you're capable of understanding German, you should really check the channel out.

So what about that livestream I was talking about?
LiveStream
The goal is to create a channel without any pressure from the outside. So there are no deadlines, no dependancies.
Meaning the team has full control over what they do and when they do it.
There will be mixed content with talkrounds, games played and interviews etc. You should just check out the first teaser episode or the website!

The Rocketbeans team depends on your support. So turn off AdBlocker, spend money in their merchandise shop or simply send them money.
But the most important part is: Tell people about this!
Share their vision and be rewarded with an entertaining, crazy channel. That's why I'm creating this topic :)

You can get further info about everything and how to support them at on the official page.

To showcase what they have in mind, their concept was shown off in a first glimpse on the things about to come called BohnJour.

BohnJour

Official Teaser Trailer

The official twitch.tv page is

here.

don't forget Facebook!

and last but not least their Twitter.

The Core Team
Most of the time you will see the following faces:
Daniel Budiman Twitter........................... Nils Bomhoff Twitter

9dEY3U4.png

Etienne Gardé Twitter............................ Simon Krätschmer Twitter

Give it a try, it's really unconventional and cannot be described with words :D

I want to thank you for your time and hope that you will check the channel out.
Maybe you will like and it will get you to learn a bit of German ;P.

I hope you enjoyed this topic. If you have any questions feel free to ask! :)

Thank you GAF :)

I love these guys from back then (Giga Games). I grew up with them and they are the saints in the gaming community imo. Truthful, fun, open minded people work there every day and they concentrate even on the smallest things. I already supported them with a few bucks and will support their Twitch/Youtube Channel.

Fuck IGN & Co.. These guys have to be supported and are needed in the gaming community. Really sad that foreigners who don't speak/understand German are missing their really really good content.

Good old Giga Games was so good... and it had such a good run..wish the could recapture something like that for their twitch. I saw GameOne too, but it wasn't really clicking to me...

I think that this is their goal. They talked in an Almost Daily about the old Giga Times and how they were just far too new with this concept. Nowadays they have the means to get money with that so I guess they will go in this direction and even have fun, because they don't have deadlines or things like this.

Imo they are doing TV of the future. I like this and will watch everyday (in Germany only shit runs, don't watch TV anymore).

GIGA was ahead of its time by several years. They invented lets plays, and twitch like Community interaction.

Sadly it failed.

And now years later the concept comes back - and I am sure that it won't bomb. :-) These days people love this kind of interaction and it's a plus that these guys are back (and many new faces, sadly no Wolf/Chris, but Dennis, Daniel, Annabell and Co are awesome too)

Missing Trant, but we finally know why he is called Trant.

Only thing: it's being german. I dont know if their current audience is big enough to support such a concept.

Nya did you check out the forums on GameOne and Youtube? There are so many people posting... German streamers like RoyalPhunk get about 3000-7000 viewers (him being alone and just streaming games without any man made content). I think donating money, subscribing, advertising (like Activison does with CoD right now) and other gainings will future proof them.

mh, don't like the cast and the people doing this.
to say it polite what I think about them
hoped some new faces would do something. sad thread makes me sad..

I can see where he comes from, for example I dont like Budi and Simon...and I dont know why... Etienne on the other hand seems very likeable...

:D Guess I also like them so much because I know Simon and Budi in real life. I also live in Hamburg and saw Budi at University :) They are very nice people and also different from their TV face.

so this is 24/7 now? hm... i loved GameOne but i'm not sure about a live show that runs all the time, how much qualitiy material can you deliver all the time? when should i watch this so i dont miss the funny parts?

i wish they would do their own half our show, like once a week like gameone was

Btw. What about posting in German on GAF?
I know there are plenty of them here, is it allowed?
Yeah, in the german OT.

Somehow thought I missed the start, so it was 15 or january and not december.

Can't stand Buddi since Cebit '0X, damn ass couldn't even bother to give me an autograph. :/ And Simon has the weirdest opinions from what I heard in a couple podcasts.

WHAT ?!?
WHEN ?!?
HOW ?!?

Watch the Almost Daily 100 ;-)

The channel will be live all the time, but they will also send old stuff like Almost Daily or such things. 24/7 real show would be murderous :)

hey are very nice people and also different from their TV face.

was allowed to talk to them once "back in the days". seemed to be quite up in the clouds and arrogant, above the community kind of thing.

of course it could have been that they had a bad day or changed since then.
But first impressions stay pretty hard with me.

Also the shows they make are toooo over the top for me. I would prefer something that is a little more "we just talk about games and history of games, with a little pop-cultural influences from games on movies and society" of course with gaming segments. but without all those useless noises and stuff. Not something like "lets talk about partys and what happened to us" :)

of course I want them to be successful. If they are, more people will create new stuff and I'll probably get what I wish for :D

Good peeps. Best of luck, guys! I'll make sure to tune in every now and then!

Watched a lot of Giga back in the day but could never stand GameOne, no idea why (No Felix?)...
Will check it out though, best of luck to them!

I'm sceptical. Their content from Game One got worse and worse over time. I wish them the best of luck though and hope they will get "giga 2.0" going.

Well that is also ViaComs fault, because these guys were sadly dependend on them... not anymore!

Also Felix is at Gameswelt.de

Schröckert of course stays at Rocketbeans afaik everybody on the team is still their. It's their baby :)

To me it was too much goofing off and not much games, but maybe it will change. It can be funny, but 80% was tryhard notfunny.

I loved GIGA so much as a kid and 15 years later I'm still watching all their stuff on an almost daily basis (heh). Eddy, Simon, Nils & Co. feel like friends to me :D
Didn't like the Game One TV show as much as its website content. Rocketbeans on YouTube was amazing the last 2-3 years. Got so many great hours of entertainment for free from those guys, it'd be ridiculous not to support them now that they need it.
I wish them all the best for the future and will be their on day one for the new channel!

Looking forward to what they come up with on the live stream. Always have been a fan of their work but basically didn't watch any GameOne the past year. Still hope they succeed.

Definitely looking forward to this.
I check their YouTube channel every day to see if there's new content available.
It's funny and honest.

I actually thought about hooking my old computer up to my TV, so I can switch to their twitch channel anytime I want.

By the way, since they have lots and lots of old content, a lot of it is going to be rerun on their channel, so it won't be 100% live.
But I'm absolutely fine with that

My brother and cousins said the same when they met them at Gamescom; well, I can understand that they go there because of work and not to relax.

Still, they create good content on their YT channel.

Met Simon and Budi at the Halo 4 launch event (I was hired for that event in my odst suit), they are really nice guys.

But nothing can top the good old Giga Games days... :(

GameOne was way too short to really show something besides some short gameclips with comments.

Watch the Almost Daily 100 ;-)

I watched AD 100 but can't remember hearing why. Only something with Star Wars and his youth "gang" comes to mind but the miyth is not fully uncovered as far as I know.

Still not certain about the 24/7 though will sometimes tune in. Would love something new from Edmundenzel before Bloodborne hits.

I have been at GamesCom for a small german games-fansite/forum once ... and even i was hammered by the appointments and stuff ... so i can understand, if they were a little bit annoyed.

A friend met them last year during the media-day on wednesday (the one without the bulk of visitors), and they have been pretty cool.
Although you never should ask Eddy why he sometimes really sucks at playing games. ^^

Will tune in tomorrow! I hope the single best thing from GameOne returns ... der Absurditäts-Knopf (absurdity button)!

I wish them all the success in the world, but I simply don't see this being profitable for their pretty big company (at least 10+). They don't even have 200k subscribers on Youtube and I'm pretty sure donating was a one-off for most people.
And honestly, I'll wait before giving them more money, because I was pretty disappointed with their first episode of "Bohnjour".

It wasn't a "first episode"... it was just to test their setup and talk about stuff they try to achieve.

Man I was obsessed with Giga Games as a kid and would watch it till after midnight even if I had school, it was the best thing on tv. So I am really excited about this and hope they can recreate the atmosphere of those old days.

Would be kinda cool if they could win over some of the other guys from the Giga days
