Windows 10: The Next Chapter - Media Briefing Details (Phil Spencer speaking)

I believe Xbox One games will be ported to PC. So console gamers will just buy the console and PC gamers are playing these games on PC, Windows 10 only of course, thanks to DX12 with low level support! This is gonna be amazing... Not that I care about the current Xbox lineup, but... I'm sure there's more to come!

Pipe dream. At most I could see streaming games on your Xbone to your WPC.
It would be amazing if it did happen though =(

I'm expecting every single idea MS had for X1 to be transitioned to Windows 10. Digital storefront. Check ins. The whole nine yards plus some sort of cross buy with X1 allowing console games on PC.

Meh. What PC games ?
I still don't see how it's possible to integrate Xbox into PC without porting games that are the centerpiece of the Xbox ecosystem. Or they're only talking about features.

i think pc will get one or two games (probably not one of their big console exclusives) from them to showcase dx12 but nothing more than that.

Do we expect like a Steam competitor that also pulls your XBL profile, friends and stuff? Is that what GfWL was? I dunno.

I don't think we will see a Steam competitor per se, but I do believe the Xbox app will be used for the social aspects of Xbox Live, maybe even for games sold on the Windows Store.

In what way if Win 7 better then Win 8.1?

If? Or *is?

I loathe Metro on my Surface 3. I absolutely hate the idea of Metro on my PC. The speed increases are neglible, to me, but the forcing of MS $torefront straight down my gullet, is a no buy. I'd go full on Linux, first.

In a perfect world for me:

Forza Horizon 2 port
Halo: MCC port
XB1 controller wireless adapter (pretty please?)
DX12 demo

I've been using the Windows 10 preview builds since the day it was released and it's been shaping up to be a great OS. Early on I had some issues with the window management and how it handled snapping, but all those kinks have mostly been ironed out now.

If they try to do so again? Their store is there in Win8.1 and will be in Win10.

Not really the point I was making. Any attempt to control distribution of software, whether it's by pushing Metro first with its Windows Store and approved apps, or taking that further and locking out all executables from Windows that aren't approved by Microsoft, should be met with consumer action, much as the market rejected Windows 8 and Metro. That Microsoft backpedaled completely shows such tactics work.

My guess what Phil Spencer will say on stage.

"Xbox live GOLD members will now be able to stream/play XBOX and XBOX 360 games purchased digitally through the XBOX app on W1NDXWS 10 and the Xbox One!"

"We will also bring games to Windows 10 phones in the future. One purchase, three platforms to play it on.Xbox One, Windows 10 and Windows 10 phones. Gamers have always told us they love choice, and we listened."

"But that's not all, we will even use this for Xbox One games too!"

Then some other stuff about a few games that will take advantage of the service on the windows 10, windows phone. Most likely more stuff about how we will have to wait till E3 to see more Xbox One games that will utilize this during Holiday 2015*.

I'm ready. ..

Mircrosoft announced as the first entity to use Steam's new storefront API; to sell their back catalog and the newly revealed XB1 ports.

If that were to happen, I will straight out buy a GTX 970 just to play it.

Apprehensive train for me. I just can't see them doing anything positive for gaming on PC.

I do like nice surprises however.
