The question should be

"what measures will be taken to ensure the matchmaking works upon release unlike MCC"


If the game is not finished I hope Phil learns to push things back, people will buy it, doesn't matter if it gets pushed back, just make sure it works

Running 3 games from the same console and same engine (if not small variations) rather than 8 or however many Halo had across 4 different platforms will probably suffice.
 
The question is who's going to work on it. I doubt Epic is involved anymore, and Black Tusk should be focusing on Gears 4.

My guess is that there won't be a unified match making. In MCC you select between campaign and matchmaking before choosing the game.

If they do a Gears collection, the first choice you make would probably be which Gears do you want to play.

I'm still not sold on the fact that they are doing a Gears Collection. I think it will just be a Gears 1 port.

It makes no sense to just port the first one but not the others.

They should use the PC version of Gears 1 because of the extra level in single player but either way I doubt it will make much difference. I just want Horde.

Every studio in MS arsenal is being recruited to work on this. This will cause about 5 new games to be cancelled, but this is the remasters generation anyway.

Good point.

But yeah, a GOW collection would cause a big splash if it got announced this year -- Would be a great collection to have a year or so before Gears of War 4 releases.
 
If I had an XBONE I would buy it no questions asked, I'm not massive on remasters really, but I had so much fun from GoW1-3 that it would be rude not to. Definitely up there with my most played games last-gen and I didn't even bother with a 360 until around 2011.
 
As much as I love the Halo games and am still playing the hell out of the MCC, a Gears collection would be way more up my alley. I can see it being the three (with maybe Judgment as 2016 DLC?), maybe in September before the big Halo 5 push.
 
a collection of campaigns would be OK for people that never played them. I do however have some serious reservations on their ability to put together a MP suite. Epic themselves had limited success in that area with Gears1 and 3 being good while Gears2 and Judgment completely missing the mark. now your asking an outside studio to throw all those games together and play nice with each other?
 
Multiplayer wise, they could just release Gears 3 with all the maps from 1-3. Really no need to make 3 separate versions of MP like Halo. Have all the modes from all 3 games, and just have playlists that use the specific maps/gun combos.

If it is this year, how do all of you think MS will order their releases and market them if Halo 5 and a Gears Collection are in the same season? I'm thinking Quantum Break won't make it until first half of 2016 at this point.
 
I would buy an Xbox One for this. I don't care about resolution, just want sold 60fps Gears.

Hopefully the devs will upgrade each version so it's running on the newest Unreal Engine. It'll just look weird especially going from Gears 1 to 3.
 
60fps Gears is needed. TLOU and GoW are my two favourite TPS's of last gen, one already got the 60fps and played like a dream. Gears needs one now, but not a trainwreck like MCC.
 
Between this, MCC, Tomb Raider, and Sunset Overdrive, the Xbox One may be my first ever Xbox Console (PlayStation guy, but those games, and Sunset in particular, make me want an Xbox for exclusives).
