Wow. Shameless lies. They just go for it and write up a completely fake press release from Phil Spencer. In a way you gotta admire how they must absolutely give no fucks.

Just PM Bishop. In reality, its more than likely in progress. I think MS wants to release collections and then the new game a year later similar to Halo. Makes sense when it is a key series in your ecosystem.
 
I got excited when I saw this thread had resurfaced, alas nothing new.

I adore Sunset Overdrive, look forward to Ori and am excited to see how Quantum Break, and Rise of the Tomb Raider turn out. But Gears of War, Gears of War is what I own an XBO for.

Throw me a bone MS?

Don't bother a mod for this. It's nothing more than speculation. Unless your two friends who are at two different companies are at Microsoft and Microsoft, they don't have any more solid information than you do.

The only reason you have to name it something is if you want to leave out Judgement. The Marcus Fenix collection does that since Marcus isn't in Judgment. If you are including all 4 games you just need to call it the Gears of War collection.
 
with all the past troubles Epic had with Gears2 MP, vast changes to mechanics, and inability to simply port over maps to the new games it seems like the only thing we might get is all the campaigns in one package. from what i can see from the thread MCC is proving to be a tough game to get working correctly. I can only imagine Gears being worse, MP wise
 
I would absolutely love this. I bought an Xbone for MCC but Gears is my one true love on Xbox.

Personally, I'd take all 4. But I could live with Judgment being out. Even though Overrun was really fun, it couldn't keep Judgment afloat all by itself. The argument is tired but the majority knows Judgment just didn't cut it.

1-3 are all pretty amazing. I know 2 gets a ton of flak, and rightfully so, but I had a lot of fun with it and there are actually a lot of great maps that never came back. That's reason enough to have 2 in the collection. I could probably play a Gears Collection for literal years if my buddies played with me.

All I need is one good Wingman and I'm happy.

Just depends on release date. I suspect September as not to clash with Halo. Surely they can port them in UE4? If not, I'm sure UE3 will make the ports easy as.
 
I think MS is going to do 2 bundles next year. I think they are going to do a special console for Halo 5 and the other might be a white xbox for Tomb Raider.

I reckon June/July because around September they will have Tomb Raider and Quantum Break as well as Halo.
 
Once Microsoft decides to release anything gears related on the xboxone is when I finally buy one. Wether it be a gears collection or whenever gears 4 comes out. Gears is the only series that would get me off my ps4 and go back to being on Xbox. I put so many hours into gears 1 - 3 it's ridiculous. Just give me every map, dedicated servers for 1 and 2, and a gnasher that is consistent in all three and I'll never play anything else.

MCC wasn't even announced until E3 this year. So I'd say 5 months minimum before release.

The evidence has piled up enough, in addition to good old common sense, that pretty much everyone believes it's coming. The timing is what people are debating.

I think next fall is too crowded already for the Gears collection, but it's easy to imagine we'll see the Gears Collection MP beta in late 2015 (probably with Quantum Break, Tomb Raider, or Halo 5 required for access) with the official release in Q1 2016 and the new Gears in November 2016.

The "Delta Squad Collection" or just the "Delta Collection" would be a good name, much better than "Gears of War Remastered Collection". Would be cool if they could remake Gears 1 but they probably don't have the time or resources. At the very least, they just need to include every campaign, map, and game mode from the trilogy and Judgment remastered in 1080p at a steady 60FPS with DEDICATED SERVERS. As long as everything is in there and it runs well, it'll be a great purchase.

Why would they need to remake Gears 1? It's not like it looks all that much worse than Gears 2 or 3.
 
Thanks for saving me from clicking on that.

I just hope that they realize that there's been heavy demand for this ever since the MCC was announced and they really are working on this. I'd buy an Xbox One the day this releases with all maps with Gears 3's playstyle.

Microsoft have very specific PR cycles for game announcements, they dont make many outside of big events and especially not for their AAA titles and blockbuster franchises (lead up to E3 included in big events), a Gears collection would be a huge deal they wont just throw the announcement out there.

At best, there's an extremely low possibility (i'll take that 1% above) that we might get something at event on the 21st January, as Phil Spencer has said there will be stuff for Windows and Xbox One owners (new Xbox One UI will supposedly be shown, perhaps they will fill a short Xbox section) but really unless its due out before next holiday - which it wont be, I largely suspect we wont hear anything until E3.
 
some good fucking times with that Gears 1 multi when it first came out. Hope they release this with all maps and also the PC exclusive level from Gears 1.
