Nearly 50 per cent of Japanese adults 'not having sex'

I can't fully express why, but I think it's the language that causes this. Youths and adults have no way to directly flirt or be open in such as way that they would ever get to the point where asking for sex wouldn't sound too forward or embarrassing. At least without heavy amounts of slang.

Also their attitudes is that it is embarrassing and they never talk about their sexuality. Not all of them, but you know. Manko being taboo and all that.

It's purely cultural of course. Japanese that travel become far less embarrassed as the more they get approached the more they realise it isn't the end of the world to flirt.

They should probably just start piping in Barry White 24/7 on all available speakers in the country. If you can't stimulate the economy, you're guaranteed to stimulate something.

Given my complete lack of interest/apathy towards sex, I could be Japanese as well.

This is a reference to my posts in a thread about ''Waiting till marriage to have sex''

I read this post first and expected to see terrisus when I looked left at the screen name, haha.

Japanese and most Southeastern Asian nations seems like they have very depressing lifestyles when you read studies like these and their suicide rates. Too many unhappy, young, poor people.

why is talking about sex still embarrassing for younger generations?? im also confused because it seems like a lot of Japanese media is hypersexual, at least the stuff ive watched.

Just because they have different priorities doesn't mean they are idiots. Believe it or not some people don't like sex, or they don't have to have it every day/week/month to be able to survive.

That is a fair statement. At first it just seemed idiotic to me that someone would no longer be interested in sex after their wife gave birth - but that was from my assumption that the man was no longer physically attracted to the woman as a result of her giving birth (which I would still think is idiotic, personally). If the purpose of the couple engaging in sexual intercourse was for the sole purpose of reproduction however, I suppose I can understand the lack of interest, as their goal of having a child was achieved.

I especially love the sentiment that sometimes floats around that the problem is just that Japanese women don't know what "real" men are, and if you went (or whomever is thinking this), they would love you and realize how sexy manly men are. The problem isn't that Japanese women don't want to have sex, goes the thinking; the problem is that they just haven't seen you.

Maybe they shouldn't call a penis chin chin.

Nevermind the fact that they're a fairly xenophobic society.

Are you insinuating that if I, a blonde, blue eyed German would go to Japan I would NOT have at least 5 different girls with different colored hair and stereotypical personalities crave for sexual dealings with me?

I am SHOCKED, good sir. SHOCKED.

Anyone able to find any trending data regarding the birth rate in Japan over the last, oh, I dunno, 50 years or so? Would be interested to see if there is any correlation between the apparent decrease in sexual interest and actual birth rates.

what are typical work hours over there?

I work typical 8:30 to 5:00 or so and even then i'm pretty exhausted. Don't really socialize, or even play games or w/e during the week day. Just go to the gym, watch some tv, then sleep.

party have fun during the weekend though!

Well, I read the title and after just skimming through, like I always do first, I thought it was terrisus who posted the plane pic.

but then I remembered he is trying to get a kid, so... It is very, very weird that I know this stuff!

OT: I am not sure if I get the plane pics, the girls are also uninterested not just the guys.

I found a chart showing birth rate decline but the source is dubious, here is a population change chart from The Economist though:

I'm Mikey "F-Bomb" Fassbender, and I personally guarantee that this will work.

There is one cure for everything, and that's Barry White.

It's simply like I said before, they don't have time for any of that. Relationships are hard, kids are hard having more than one is hard. I suspect a large some of people in the world in general probably wouldn't care for working so hard on dates if it wasn't a chance of getting laid.

That being said, I don't think working hard is a bad thing just because they have different priorities than other people. I doubt they have to deal with constant teenage pregnancies.

The big problem is in Japan and most of the world people simply don't have the money to both have a decent life themselves and have a relationship. The birth rate decline is entirely a socio economic problem. People spend so long in work that when they get home they want to have their own time and space, without needing to worry about someone else.

I've never been in a relationship and I'm in the UK. I understand that being in a relationship must be cool, but from a personal standpoint I can't really see how many of the supposed advantages outweigh the problems it brings with it. It's hard enough to get a job as it is in our current climate due to how much of a broken state our political and capitalist system is and I know when I finally manage to get a job in the sector I want to be in I'm going to have to dedicate so much time if I want to find any kind of benefit and I'd imagine there's a lot of people in a similar situation. Especially in Japan where the cost of living is high and the work is insane.

Japan is on her way to go back to irrelevant country at the edge of major civilizations again. When climate change hit hard in 50 years it will be a lot worse.

Because parents never tell them about the birds and the bees. Normally in school you have to go through hoops to actually have sex, like bring a girl/boy over to your house where your family will see it, lock the door (which you would never do) and such. With the many housewives in Japan could you image how hard it is to get any alone time?

They grow up with no PDA from parents.

I can only say from experience that if you take them out of that repressive environment, where it is considered rude to kiss in public (because boo hoo single people) they will start to fuck.

Television there doesn't help either. They will mention sex on talk shows but it is always shown as a hush hush subject, and characters in drama take like half the series to fuck once haha.

Also hat you may consider as being sexy, like short skirts and legs and such, it isn't really in Japan. If it were I'm pretty sure a lot more people would be vocal at how horrific AKB48 look.

Also "sexy" is divorced from sex. It's weird but spend enough time there are you'll notice it.

I wouldn't say that, they are easily one of the leads in terms of technology for pleasure and entertainment and other features. It's simply that their isolated view is restricting them. They are great inventors, but they also are super Xenophobic.

Basically, I love the shit that they make, but I wouldn't want to live, a week visit at most.

Why lock the doors when the walls are just made of paper?

I know

Most hilarious stereotype that ended up being true is that they don't lock the bathroom door in the family home. Saw this many times.

But yeah I imagine youts that are having sex in their homes are saying they are going to "study" and fuck silently or with music or something. Making sure they say they have already eaten so they don't get called for dinner. But then they also wanna take a shower right after so they might leave straight away, but not take a train since other people can smell it right?

This is the attitude.

Also hah, where do they get the condom from? Seriously it is so fucking hard to find condoms in Tokyo at least. People live in these residential areas and the big stores that have them is always like a place they frequent, so they are embarrassed to buy them. No condom vending machines, and pharmacy's that hand them out don't do it like in the UK.

So they could you know... Go the love hotel route. But then these girls would probably just prefer older men because of all of these issues can be avoided that way. The guys don't act horny because they would stand out if they did.

I have literally seen guys act horny in a group, and only in a group.

They will be making their eccentric entertainment for senior citizen since any day now their retired population will exceed working population.
