Rollback netcode.
Day 1 PC version.
whoa.
Rollback netcode.
Day 1 PC version.
speaking of outdated, wonder if the official evo monitor will ever get updated. ASUS doesn't even manufacture the 236H anymore, do they?Anything rated 10ms or lower here is fine.
The VH236H is pretty outdated at this point. I wouldn't bother with it unless you can get it for super cheap.
Sounded more like he just wants to break new ground in netcode in general, not necessarily rollback/SFxTK.Doesn't SFxT use rollback in some form? Ono was referring to improving on SFxT netcode ideas going forward.

New CorkyJay advance tech/combo video for his team of Jill/Iron Man/Sentinel, showing off various things like the Iron Man VS Morrigan/Doom matchup, Very hard to block 25/25/25/25 Left/Right High/Low Crossup/Fake Crossup mixups, Instant overheads, Jill TOD combos, and more: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1rv6jRfsAsc

"We were able, with Street Fighter X Tekken, to develop new netcode that was a generational leap above what we'd done previously but were unable to work that code into Ultra [Street Fighter 4] since the underlying tech is so different," says Ono. "I'd certainly like to continue breaking new ground in this arena."
Input-lag-based netplay instead of rollback-based. Discussing the difference is outside the scope of this post, but the short version is: if you prefer smooth visuals, rollback-based netplay can be configured by the player to be the SAME as input-lag-based netplay, but if you prefer more responsive controls under laggy conditions then rollback-based netplay can ALSO do that whereas input-lag-based netplay CANNOT. Input-lag-based netplay is significantly easier to implement for developers, and under good network conditions (i.e. in Japan) it works okay enough. Elsewhere, that is not the case! Fighting games have reached the point where input-lag-based netplay simply should not be accepted by players, in the same way that not having hotkeys in MMOs would be unacceptable now. It is a lazy choice, pure and simple, and it provides a much worse online experience.
That tweet you're quoting came before the tweet Beckx posted. So...『Inaba Resident』;148548434 said:
Let me ask the real question here:UNIEL on PC? :O
As someone who plays based on reaction I FUCKING DESPISE ROLLBACK NETCODE
There's no one "Evo monitor" now -- I think they mainly roll either the Asus 236H or the 238H (which superseded the 236H), along with a couple of BenQ models and one from Alienware when they sponsored Evo back in 2010 or so.speaking of outdated, wonder if the official evo monitor will ever get updated. ASUS doesn't even manufacture the 236H anymore, do they?
Let me ask the real question here:
WHEN'S MELTY?????
So you can turn your input delay up and have fun in that lag while people who would rather deal with the rollbacks can. There is no reason to not have rollback support from a player's standpoint (maybe from a technical one!), as you can always fall back to a pure delay-based system if you want.
One upside: it also makes the delay consistent, so if you want to play with 99% smoothness and a consistent delay, you can.

iirc its in all the iron galaxy re-releases of the old capcom games, but those use ggpo and are made by americans
also why uniel
where's xrd on pc i want costume mods to put hats on sol badguy
I really want more fighting games on Steam, especially the marvel games.
Years of playing Makoto has taught me how to adjust to input delay on the fly. Where rollback when it rollbacks fucks me up BADWhat. I'm someone that plays on reaction and delayed based is awful.
KoF is popular in Europe?Tekken can't be the soccer of fighting games. KOF already took that title.
Wait, did Harada actually mentioned Data East? That is amazing.Harada please make it so.
Romance a bit salty on twitter about Persona getting in over KOF. I don't think he's played KOF in ages and I recall him not entering the game at Evo either, lol.

I mean shit I can FRC in AC+R's shitty netcode

Honestly as far as netcode goes, I even prefer MvC2 netcode over any of the delay based ASW thus far.
I think family issues happened last Evo or something? I can't remember.
FRC on +R means that you have FRCs down on muscle memory, not reaction though.
I thought he couldn't attend EVO due to personal obligations.
Plus, and someone correct me if I'm wrong, the Bally's event hall isn't as big as the LVH's hall last year? Last year's hall was freaking huge, and it was awesome.
I don't recall 2013's hall being that large.
I really want to see a DDR tournament at EVO.
What does he even play now? He still show up to some majors and you see him coaching/watching KoF matches, just not playing!Romance a bit salty on twitter about Persona getting in over KOF. I don't think he's played KOF in ages and I recall him not entering the game at Evo either, lol.

Reynald couldn't because of family obligations. Romance showed up as I recall.
These KOF players are hypocritical as they come. Mondo talked many times about how SuperDojo wanted to continue to run KOF, but the players never showed up. Alex Valle talked about the KOF players not showing up as well and extended it to them not showing up at majors.
The ole' SFIV isn't Street Fighter, TTT2 isn't Tekken, etc argument. Yadda, yadda, yadda.
I can't wait to see the "09'ers" shit talk SFV for not being like SFIV.
The never ending hate cycle haha.
KoF got more than twice as many entrants as KI at NEC and more than P4U2 and BBCP. SuperDojo isn't a metric for how active the game is. The community still show up for big events. These KOF players are hypocritical as they come. Mondo talked many times about how SuperDojo wanted to continue to run KOF, but the players never showed up. Can anyone blame the Evo staff for dropping KOF when the community won't even get off their ass to support it?

I can see why EVO would skip it this year though.
