A new year and hopefully closer to a solid date for Gorogoa. The silence has only made my anticipation even worse!
Still not much info about this. Has there been any gameplay footage or previews?

Hmmm...looks Factorio-y. Which isn't a bad thing by any meansFresh off the oven! http://youtu.be/FXORvaw4xZk
Hi everyone, sorry for the silence in the past couple of weeks, but this is a bit of a special request.
A friend of mine, Jordan, is currently hospitalized and in critical condition. You might know of him as the artist who sprited Anya the lighthouse from To the Moon, the boy and the bird from A Bird Story, all of Neil and Evas co-workers from both minisodes, and more. His own work were also an inspiration for me to revamp my own projects almost 8 years ago into their direction today.
I dont want to say too much for privacys sake, but his next chemotherapy may start this week, and he could use a boost in morale. If you could, an email to Jordan@freebirdgames.com to send some positive vibes, and to let him know that his work and contributions were appreciated and meant something, would be very kind.
Thanks all.
Looking at Infinifactory, Grav, RE Remaster. Anything else significant coming out soon or released recently? Haven't been keeping up with releases lately
Any word on a Hotline Miami 2 release date yet?
Oh, and Sky Rogue is the current IGS deal. If you enjoyed the alpha, I recommend picking it up because the game isn't free anymore. Now $10 from the dev's site, so this IGS sale is pretty good

Made a thread, care to post some more impressions?Infinifactory is amazing. Clocked about 6-7 hours today. 3D make it less daunting the Spacechem.

Its basically SpaceChem 2 in everything but name and theme (notice the bonders/mergers in the gif above? Those concepts should all be very familiar to you). I thought it would be closer to Factorio based on the trailers (Fantastic game btw), but it really is SpaceChem. If you like SpaceChem, you'll like Infinifactory.
Now that this is out of the way, there are some differences and some concerns I initially had that I should talk about.
Content:
First of all, compared to the neverending content of SpaceChem, this game doesnt offer quite as much (yet). SpaceChem got a ton of added content down the line and from what Zachtronics is stating, the "Early Access" is mainly used to add some more mini-campaigns and content ideas. Apparently, the current EA version has the COMPLETE main campaign already in a finished state, so I would actually consider it a finished product now with some free DLC hitting whenever they get to it.
These games are slightly devious when it comes to putting an hour count on the content. SpaceChem only had 40-50-ish levels as well, but the last few might take you several days to solve, so I am not too concerned about not getting my money's worth even with "just" the main campaign.
Graphics & Sound:
Lets get the elephant out of the room: Working out solutions in 3D works rather painfree. There are some initial moments of bepuzzlement, but overall, the UI and control scheme is very well thought out to remove possible annoyances. One example: If you hold down the left mouse button, you can build elements in a row (without deviating to the side), on top of those elements being turned to fit the movement direction of your mouse. Small thing, but very user friendly. The ambient sound design is very satisfying, the graphics are pleasing to look at (I love the painted background) and the soundtrack is reminiscent of SpaceChem and very good.
Mechanics:
Now this is going to be fun to explain. Many mechanics/blocks work very similarly, but SpaceChem was different in a few key points, for example using chemistry as a theme (which Zachtronics confirmed as being a design mistake as it limited the appeal to general audiences) and most importantly: being a top down map. The change to 3D does not only bring some slight control confusion but also changes and adds mechanics. There was a certain beauty to using a single space in SpaceChem for multiple actions, which is a feeling of ingenuity I am missing so far in Infinifactory, however, Infinifactory has some new tricks up its sleeve. The addition of height, makes for some genuinely new problems that need to be solved. Instead of just being more SpaceChem, different heights and the considerations that come with that actually add a TON of depth (ha!) to the mechanics. Stacking elements, stacking constructs on a conveyorbelt to have it to things in multiple parts of the level without rebuilding it... there is a lot that I have yet to discover and on top of "Oh fuck yeah, more SpaceChem!" the possibilities that this is opening are very, very exciting to me.
Accessibility:
While still being very similar to SpaceChem, realizing this game concept in 3D will actually make it much, much more accessible to players. Structures and production lines are easier to make out, the 3D itself is a good selling point for a certain part of the gaming populace, and building something in 3D and seeing all the gears working might just turn out to be even a tiny bit more satisfying than it already was in SpaceChem.
I'll come back here for more impressions eventually, but for now: Easily worthy entry into the GOTY list of 2015 and if Zachtronics adds some more levels, mini campaigns and other shenanigans, Zachtronics will likely top my GOTY list once more.
I can't give you any reason not to buy it. It has enough content as it is, clever level puzzles, well thought out UI/controls, pleasing graphics, great soundtrack, is more accessible than SpaceChem without losing much of the complexity, adding a whole new range of puzzle ideas (height) and more content on the way.
I can't say much about this game right now but if you like Greek mythology it is awesome. It also plays much better than Capsized.Didn't see Apotheon in here? Although I'm sure most of you have seen the trailer...

Having virtually abandoned all hope, in the search of light, preserving sanity becomes every day increasingly difficult, because at the moment, hanging over me insane and ephemeral darkness. The primal gods want to destroy us, they, as eternal monsters have waited eons until deciding, finally, to fill our world with terror. I confess that It is increasingly milder the breath of my sanity.
The only way to escape the terror, madness and death is to fight them. Fortunately, I have discovered that overcoming the trials that make us and getting the pearls that sponges loose retrieve a minimum of our mental health and cast us a slight light in this sea of dementia, allowing us to be sane enough to keep fighting and maybe, just maybe, there would be a possibility of getting hold our world as we have known until this moment

A dark, sad, funny, weird 1st person exploration game in which you play as a man obsessed with the meaning behind a painting. More of a story game in that it emphasizes mood and character over gameplay. Features 3D computer graphics in hundreds of colors (blue and pink to name a few). Contains explicit handling of suicide, so be warned. There is also a shrimp tank with pet shrimp.
Thanks guys, I really appreciate it.
On to better stuff, I totally missed that a teaser trailer for Orphan was released back in December. Been hyped for this since seeing the first Screenshot Saturday pics. Kickstarter next week

The Vaulters are now a free faction for everyone in Endless Space, and there are special events on all games celebrating the date.2014 has been a great year for Amplitude (and for you thanks to the games we delivered ), and we look at the future with both excitement and confidence (well not overconfidence obviously). It is also interesting for us to look at the past and the story so far, as we are going to celebrate our fourth anniversary on January 21st. It also happens to be Romains birthday (Amplitude's Creative Director), although his actual age is a close kept secret (even more than the origin of the Endless).
Endless Space was an amazing success for a fledgling company (we were planning on selling 60.000 units in our original business plan), but it was also more than a commercial success. We had tremendous critical acclaim and even more importantly we were joined by a huge and fantastic community (that is you I am talking about ).
This first success allowed us to create two new games, Endless Legend and Dungeon of the Endless, one of them in an alcoholic quasi-slumber. After the first awards won by Endless Space (Unity Golden Cube and Community Choice awards), we are humbled by the number of awards and commendations we received for these last two games.
Anyway, this anniversary has given us the idea to celebrate an Endless Day. Rumor has it that this event could occur on a yearly basis. Be prepared for in-game events, rewards, gifts and whatnot. Also for those in Paris on the 21st, we are hosting a Beer2Gether at our offices.
Thanks again for your support and enjoy our first Endless Day

I love Amplitude - I think i'll actually buy whatever they make next on name alone.
Same, but I still need to buy DotE
Not sure where else to ask, but how do you go about doing an OT for an indie game? Is there some level of notability that's expected or what? I looked at the OT OT and it doesn't really talk about how to actually go about making one. Figured I'd ask in here in case any of you have done it specifically for an indie game, not really sure where else to ask
I've made quite a few. Not always labeled OT, but they tend to be the only or main threads about whatever game it is. If it's fun or looks cool and interesting, go ahead, make a thread. The worst that could happen is no one posts. Either way, people might learn about an interesting game that they hadn't known about beforeNot sure where else to ask, but how do you go about doing an OT for an indie game? That's helpful, thanks. Was considering it for some games like Earthtongue that I find that seem to have no GAF hype
Bird song looks awesome. I hope it is further expanded upon later as it seems a lot of the best Ludum Dare games are.
It's their best game - you should do it now!
Thanks! Unfortunately I probably won't end up expanding it, I feel it works well as a small package but wouldn't offer much more as a full game.
He also made Roguelight and Javel-ien if you're familiar with those. (And if you're not, go play them. They're excellent)Well shucks. Still knowing what your game is and what it isn't is important! If you don't think expanding the content would do it justice, then more power to you for sticking with your original vision.
EDIT: Just realized you created Sun & Moon as well.... Well this is awesome.

What can I say about SpaceChem that hasn't been said already? If you follow the indie scene even slightly, I'm sure you heard the ample praise and acclaim for Zachtronics' chemical puzzler. After a foray into card-game strategy with Ironclad Tactics, the developer has returned to the world of meticulous planning and systematic onstruction with Infinifactory. You might have heard it described it as "SpaceChem in 3D", and while that's an apt description, it doesn't exactly detail what makes Infinifactory an awesome evolution of the SpaceChem formula. Infinifactory takes everything you loved about that game, on a grander scale and with new depth, wrapped up in an alien industrial aesthetic.
Forget about bonding elements and creating molecules. Infinifactory leaves the microscopic world of SpaceChem behind for the world of alien engineering. The enigmatic story puts you in the shoes of a person captured and forced to build extraterrestrial constructs. Audio logs and notes allow you to gradually piece together the overarching tale, but let's be honest: you're here for the puzzles.

"SpaceChem in 3D". Introducing the third dimension adds so many tweaks and new complexities. Having to remember that items take time to fall when you're trying to sync up blocks across multiple levels. Working out how to maneuver pieces across multiple axises so that they all eventually meet. Having to build objects with height and width and depth. Getting the mess of energy conduits and welders and pushers to work and timed correctly...all without Spacechem's sync command to fall back on. On top of all that, Infinifactory has the most seamless, intuitive, user-friendly control scheme and interface I've seen in a block building game. You can effortlessly rotate and place blocks, easily create long conveyor belts or delete unwanted sections in seconds.

It's the meticulous construction and pursuit of perfection and optimization you love. The hypnotic rhythm of seeing your complex sprawling mess of moving pieces and parts actually work properly after countless failures and tweaking. The challenge of learning how everything works and functions, and using that knowledge in new ways that makes you feel like a damn genius when it all comes together in the end. It's all that, in a 3D world of sky docks and armories and spaceships and missiles. Six hours in, and for me, Infinifactory had already eclipsed SpaceChem, due to the presentation and polish and the spatial depth that offers new challenges in ways that SpaceChem never could. The price may seem steep, but for the amount of polished content already here, and the content to come, it's well worth the asking price. While Infinifactory may be in Early Access, the current version is literally the 1.0 release version, with a feature-complete finished main campaign. Mini-campaigns and new blocks and mechanics will be adding in future updates
If you enjoyed SpaceChem even in the slightest, you won't be disappointed by Infinifactory. It's everything that made that game great, on a grander scale and literally with new depth.

So far its Chromyrinth (though a bit rough around the edges, but lovely concept) for me, and many others really liked Drift Stage.
Have just tried Chromyrinth after you mentioned it. It hurts my eyes so much lol.Yes, the concept is good but platforming is too painful.
I also have just played most of free games in the OP but still not impressed.
Anyway, how is 50 indies of 2014 thread going ? I can't wait to see it.
