Normally, this GIF brings me happiness -- I usually like that Nintendo marches off-beat in an industry where the beat is absolute shit.

Of late, however, Nintendo of America needs to pull its god-damned pants up, take the lampshade off its head, gets its cock out of its hands and pull this fucking shit together. Collecting should be a pleasure, not a headache.

I'm very glad I never intended to collect every amiibo, but you know something is terribly wrong when the folks who just want one or two beloved characters out of each wave have no chance of snagging those without making it into a part-time job.

Yeah, I think there are a few of us in the Houston area, too. The next closest TRU to me is either Waco or Austin. I'm basically smack dab in the middle of the 2. Maybe I'll give them a call tomorrow morning and see what's what.
 
I've had a pretty fuckin' shitty day today. Was happy this morning but man, today just got SHIT! So much stress and I was hoping that Wave 3 would be a good launch but stuffs just not going right.

I'm staying up doing work and going to hang out with AmeriiboGAF for once.
 
Aaaand, B&H falls through, as expected. There goes my shot at a Little Mac, and potentially a Mega Man, if he ends up being rare (which I feel is likely).

EDIT: So if anyone happens to have a Little Mac, I've got a sealed Club Nintendo Majora's Mask soundtrack and will have a sealed Club Nintendo Super Smash Bros. for Wii U/3DS, soundtrack for trade, as soon as it arrives this spring. I don't care if Mac is opened or if the card is damaged, I'm going to open him and put him on my desk (and use him for games) with the rest of my small amiibo collection anyway. I'm gathering up a bunch of stuff to trade with you amiibros and amiibettes this weekend, but if either soundtrack sounds tempting and you have a spare Mac (or Shulk pre-order) that you'd like to go to a good home, please do shoot me a PM.

There's been plenty of sales like that if stores had them in stock. Problem is there's not enough stock of them yet. But I'm sure there'll be reprints or something. We're only two months into Amiibos being out, it's too early to call if Amiibos that are rare now will continue to be rare.

Fair enough, but with many more Amiibos to come out for Smash, other game lines of Amiibos upcoming, and reports of certain characters being discontinued the situation does suggest otherwise.

Doubtful for obscure characters. You underestimate productions costs and overestimate retailer shelf space.
 
Dammit I was at TRU at 10am sharp ,they had tons of new stock being shelved BUT I SAW NO NEW AMIIBO!!!

Granted I did not ask if they had more... because usually when I do they always answer the exact. same. way: "everything we have is on the shelf."

Sigh. I bet they had some boxes they were about to stock of them. I am going to go check tomorrow but I fully expect everything to be sold already.

Even if the B&H site says it's On Order, you might still get an e-mail about it. That's how I found out my order was canceled.

& I just rechecked on B&H & now it says Canceled when I track the order....

There's not going to be reprints of everyone. They're already moving onto the Super Mario line when Smash Bros isn't finished yet. There's only a limited amount of shelf space.
 
RIP my dreams of a complete collection. Getting Villager and WFT never. *crying

Only other way is to play the scalper game and lose ~$80.
 
Just got into this Amiibo craze last week, so forgive my greenness on this. I was under the impression that we wouldn't see any Wave 3 until February 1st, so imagine my surprise when I stopped by my local Toys R Us to look for a Yoshi and saw Bowser, Toon Link and Sheik on the shelves.

I'm in the Philly area by the way. I have no idea if these has any bearing on the rarity, but TrU had about 7 shelves dedicated to Bowser, 3 to Toon Link and 1 (sold out) to Sheik.

Got my Bowser and Toon Link a week early! No sign of Lucario or the (non-exclusive) rest though.
 
Boo, got the e-mail tonight that B&H could not fulfill my order for Marth, Villager, and WFT :( I figured it was too good to be true, but I was hoping for some sort of miracle!

Grats to all the people who got lucky at their local TRU today! It seems a no-go for me, but eh... my closest TRU has always been awful. The location, layout, customer service. All terrible. I'm almost glad they don't have Wave 3 out because that means I will give my business to someone else. ^_^

It isn't over yet for Marth thankfully. The other two is a pipe dream. :(

Really hoping that Club Nintendo surprises us and gives out Amiibos for ~1000 coins or something in February. At least I would be able to get one of them.
 
Bought Ike today in my local German store.

I really wonder if Amiibo is selling here at all. I had my pick among five Ikes, Rosalinas, Sheiks, etc. They also had Villagers, WFT, everything multiple times.

I would really like to see the ability to order specific amiibos off their website in the future. Even if it was at a higher cost, like 20 bucks. I'd probably spring for it simply to not have to deal with the hassle of preordering or fighting limited quantities

Tl;dr saw little mac. I have a sealed one, but its broken... you would have to glue it back together. I was trying to get gamestop or nintendo to replace it, but Im probably going to return it and get my money back since neither have been very helpful.
