I dunno, I think there's a lot of room for reasonable complaints between that and 'dying of dysentry in a hovel'.
It's one of the arguments we have. She grew up in a poorer country, so she likes to inform me that I have no idea what true poverty looks like, that people in her country are so much worse off, etc etc. Which, I get that in a really roundabout way, she's trying to get me to realize that it's not so bad, but it's really unhelpful and just makes me feel worse.

If you live in a place with asian markets, look for a syrup for coughs and sore throats. They taste amazing and works really well.

You're probably coming down with a cold. Stay warm and drink lots of fluids. When I get a sore throat, it usually follows with a cold due to already weakened immune system. I actually recommend something like a warm water bottle. I find it better than turning up the heater because snuggling with one applies the heat directly to your body.

I keep my sheets around my neck while I sleep and my feet slightly elevated to avoid a sore throat.
