Amiibo Discussion Thread 2: I Got 99 Pre-orders But A Rosalina Ain't One

The EBGames where I got this only had 4 in stock, including the two I have. They also told me that going forward, they will only allow one amiibo per costumer.

Now which one should I open?

Sorry if this has already been addressed, but if wave 3 is out, does that mean Gamestop should be getting its Mega Man preorders in?
 
I am sweating Metaknight. I have a reserved Shulk and all non exclusives reserved. Got my Lucario today. Our Target seems to think they can meet demand on Sunday for Rosalina but the people at Best Buy seem to be as clueless as ever. The game department "specialist" didn't even realize it was an exclusive and was coming out soon.
 
So wait, any word on Lucarios shipping yet, or just in store for now? Also, has Shulk pick-up started in the US? Should I expect a call for when I can go get him from Gamestop?

Also, I wish Entertainment Earth would give an update on Little Mac since my "pre-order" with them is still my best bet for him...

All my up and down during this two last weeks will tell you, its also really bad. The distribuiton in my city of wave 3 has been a shitfest, and we are talking about a big city. There are amiibos form older waves missing in action, like Kirby, with plenty of them in america still.
 
Just got done with my local tru here in the bay area. They had only four available for non-preorders. So if anyone has an extra US blue Cario and willing to trade, please let me know.

They open the doors and we powerwalk to the Amiibo isle in the back. No Lucario. People are upset. Electronics desk lady sternly informs that there are only pre-orders left. I keep my cool and go to the manager I spoke to before. She thankfully kept the Lucario in the back stock. An employee gets it for me and I pay for it.

I thank her and get it while thanking the guy that stuck around. (If the Lucario was loose, I would have lost it anyways, but it was great to see someone do that.) I found out he was a fellow Gaffer earlier as well. If you're reading this dude, thanks again.

Now for the twist (which I told him before):

I don't even want Lucario. I was thiiis close to letting one of the other guys take it when we heard there was one left, but I worked for it so I stuck with it. Now that I have it, I'm expectantly indifferent. I would have been much happier if I found a Toon Link (but won't trade Lucario for Toon Link, obviously). I'll probably sell this Lucario very soon for non-scalper price. Welp, one way to spend a morning!

Geeze, I was hoping to wake up to some funny stories or something, but everything looks like it's been a NIGHTMARE. Grats to the lucky few getting a Lucario. Mine is an online order (with a coupon amount off it too) so I'm crossing my finger that it WILL come in, so I didn't bother to go out, keeping my energy for Sunday.

I'm still shocked stores are letting scalpers win WTF? I talked about it at my local GS and they said how during Black Friday someone wanted to buy ALL of their PS4 bundles and they were like "lol no". Apparently GS has a place on like 2 limits per person (since it could be credit card fraud etc). I told them about the Miibo situation and well, they haven't even been getting extras in really to even have scalpers try and nab them. At least they have their morals with these things, even if there was extras.

Screw scalpers. That story about those middle aged adults nearly in tears SUCKS. We're all big fan/collectors here, no matter the age. Just a crappy situation over all.

Going to head back to Target and see if I can talk to a different employee that knows something more than the last one. I'm going to explain the Miibo situation with scalping, saying how I just want to get one (unless my friend still wants one) and don't want to fight people buying them all up in line. I think I'll get there even earlier if that's the case, and non-morning person me will not be having fun about that :/
 
I really hope Toys R Us honors my preorder card when I arrive after work.

Has anyone that preordered Wave 3 from TRU in the U.S. had their figures ship yet?

You should be fine with pre-order card, as long as employees are competent in securing the correct amount, remember though you only have 7 days to pick it up.

Was really weird. It was obvious the first rep was tired of fielding Amiibo questions. Nonetheless her persistent insistence that I cancel the order bugged me. When I got the manager (Balery) I asked if it was normal procedure to tell a customer to cancel their order. She apologized profusely then put me on hold. When she came back she offered that hundy. Which was just a little less than twice the original orders total. I pre-ordered the entire wave (minus rosalina/meta Knight) when they had that deal going that got ya discounts on every other Amiibo. Do half of them were 8.40 instead of 13.99.

Was super weird. I wasn't mad, didn't expect these things till mid Feb anyway. They must be getting just punished by Amiibo crazies.
 
I believe EB Games limited Shulk to one per person because they didn't receive all their stock (only 50-75%). I'm completely fine with this because everyone should be able to get one.

Gonna open these up when my little brother gets home.

Definitely way worse. All figures are basically presold and only Bowser and Toon Link were available for walk ins (wave 2 was all preorders too, apart from Luigi and Zelda iirc). Had a friend go to our local mall this morning and apparently they only had 1 bowser received at our Walmart, and our EB seemed to have only preorders available and no walk ins (or maybe sold out, but my friend got there 15 min after open and no one was there apparently). It's literally impossible to get them unless you are there for the 3-10 minutes they become available online otherwise you pay $60-$100 importing om ebay due to our shitty dollar.

It's embarrassing.

At least you have a decent shot at MetaKnight though! Canada is out of luck if you didn't pre-order apparently...

I straddle the line between the countries thanks to my girlfriend but I feel like NA as a whole has it the worst. Every store I visit blames it on the strike.

I noticed four or five bowsers but my EB only recieved one Toon Link and we grabbed that guy up. I had to stand outside in the cold while my gf ran to Bestbuy and they received nothing at all. Toysrus lady told us that the next "series" wasn't due out until April.

yeah my backup orders are through them 1 order for lucario and a separate order with all of them... other than that I have them through gamestop except exclusives of course I got an in store order for gamestop shulk and and meta-knight in store with Best Buy. Now I just need news from BB on Meta-Knight and have to get a few Rosalina from Target.

From what I was told at BestBuy its the same here if you didn't preorder your out of luck.
 
I'm still surprised that Canada is getting almost the entire shipment in, while the domestic warehouses here have barely even gotten any in. No Ikes or anything like that here. I just don't get it...

What must we do to show Nintendo that we are angry?
