He is extremely apathetic, and doesn't care about dying. It's part of his arc throughout the five movies that they will be releasing, and it's great.

Yup. Always interpreted as him being depressed in some way which is why he doesn't care. He actually has some major flaws and that makes him more interesting than the anime version of Yu, who has no flaws and solves everything.

Jesus there are 5 movies of this?

Also does he remain mostly silent throughout? Definitely comes across incredibly weirdly in movie form.

Well, all of P3 cast is depressed

Nah, koromaru is all about love loyalty and respect.

It's not weird. He only responds when talked to, and he uses the phrase "Understood" a lot, as he just follows the flow without making his own mind about things in the first movie. His silence feels natural, as he's just one who keeps to himself; a listener. He probably engages more in conversation past movie 1, as he grows as a character.

There are five movies for the following in-game seasons:

- Spring (Spring of Birth)
- Summer (Midsummer Knight's Dream)
- Fall (Falling Down)
- Winter
- The Answer

I guess it would help more if there's a sub so I can follow along the conversation more.

Also thanatos was always the coolest main character persona.

This is obviously not the way to experience the movies, especially as a non-Japanese speaker. They are skipping significant chunks of the movie (for example, the hospital scene was completely skipped here).

I don't know why, but I thought there were going to be only 3 movies, well I guess 5 movies will give them more time to the characters to develop and less chances to miss important details.

Thanks for the nostalgia playlist for my work day!

Yeah I might give the full ones a shot. At least the productions seems pretty decent.

We have a 10 minute break until the next segment, so...

which of your favourite songs didn't make the list?

Mine would definitely be Living With Determination -Iwatodai-:

A lot of great songs didn't get the same exposure so it's harder for them to make the list. The fighting games had some fantastic tracks, I feel that Break out of... is definitely one of the greats. Best Friends and Now I Know are also fantastic.
We are One and All is an incredible song but unless you saw the fantastic live rendition at the 2012 show it was just backgound music during a single scene in a P4A episode so it wont come to mind for most people.

On a completely unrelated note, Yukari is just.. damn...

I guess I'll go to sleep. For whatever reason I was under the assumption that #7 was going to be the big P5 reveal. Looks like it's going to be for the third film.

Obviously hard to tell without a) speaking Japanese or b) seeing the full movies, but man this seems way darker in tone than the actual game. Even the colour palette is dark.

Not really. It's on par with the tone of the game. They're skipping several lighthearted scenes (such as one where Makoto eats Takoyaki with Fuuka), there's some dialogue you can't understand (such as Makoto's taunt: "That's impressive. You attached your nose to your face so you won't lose it"), etc. Also, a lot of the comedy scenes happen in later movies (such as babe hunt in movie #2).

Persona 3 has 5 movies? WOW! How big is that game?

70-100 hours long. Add 20 hours for The Answer, so a total of 90-120 hours.

Everything was, so yes.

Just going to throw some P2 stuff in here:

P2IS Theme - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8w3azhr_Kds
P2IS Opening Movie (that part near the end...) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WI3zgFbtDEk

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iInOetWAg5s - Maya's theme remix in P3 (I didn't even know one existed!)

P3/4 stuff is just so much more catchy than the earlier Persona stuff.

PSP games did spice it up though.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eAarVmqJwNw - Unbreakable Tie

It actually took me 110 hours to beat the whole of FES. So close enough!

That doesn't sound much longer than P4. Didn't thought you can get 5 movies out of that.

How is the story content compared to P4? Does it have less serious parts like school trip and such? Might give it a try before jumping to P5.
