Yea, I rarely post because it gets drowned out and if someone does have a reply it's a nightmare trying to find it, LOL.

Also, one frustrating part about these Amiibo's is retailers selling stock before filling their pre-orders. It's aggravating that people that pre-order are the last to receive the figures (by several weeks) with some even getting cancelled. People blame Nintendo for the Amiibo mess, but in my opinion the retailers are as much to blame. They know the items are limited and pre-orders should always take precedence.
 



Lol everyone loves AmiAmi. Koren loved AmiAmi so much they posted the link twice in a row.

But the general consensus is that AmiAmi is a great place to import Japanese things so if you're going for Japanese amiibos, go there. The reason is they tend to sell things cheaper there than other places. For example, if you notice, the list price for Lucina is 6800 yen and that's really the original list price from Good Smile (the original distributor) and here's their official store http://goodsmile-global.ecq.sc/maxf...://goodsmile-global.ecq.sc/maxfigwd00245.html

But AmiAmi is selling it for 5,200 yen instead.
 
Heh, thanks. This was Amazons screw up though, so I try not to tell people what they should or shouldn't do. I just know how high demand these are and how bad the stock is. And I've actually heard stories of Amazon.fr recently not shipping Rosalina out to orders. So if that was someone else's order I would feel bad.

Usually Amazon will tell you to keep things with their mistake though. And since this is an international order I don't know how tricky that is (or if its a hassle).

I wouldn't be able to keep it too, I'm a sucker for doing the right thing.
 
Ike is actually one of the easiest to get in the UK. Lucario isn't that hard either (it's still in stock at the nintendo uk store at any rate). Of course, WFT and Lil' Mac are rare, but still, 3 of those 4 boxes are full of commons.

I would still do it even if not every extra is rare. But you are right about the rarity. For some reason my brain read Amazon.fr and I thought Rosalina for some reason. My mind shifted to that. Don't know why.

Edit: to be clear, this is Amazons fault. It was their mistake. Since its international, the customer shouldn't have to pay a cent to fix their mistake.

But I would personally contact them just to see.
 
That's odd. Are you sure you didn't forget you ordered them? Have you checked your order history?

My Lucario tracking number in the email didn't work because the link was to the ups tracking site but they sent it via FedEx. Try copying the tracking number and pasting it into google. Google is pretty good about figuring out what carrier the number is valid for.
Yep, that did the trick for both of 'em. Looks like they're both en route to arrive on Tuesday. Nice!

If Amazon makes you send them back they will pay for all shipping. You shouldn't have to pay a cent for their mistake. Although if you have to spend money on gas to go ship it, then there is that.

It's not your fault though. It was their mistake. You don't even have to contact them. So you are good. :)

Yea, I'm also waiting on Toad. I was able to get all the other MP/Super Mario Series Amiibo's pre-ordered but Toad sold out extremely quick and was unavailable when I tried to pre-order :(

Hopefully he will be up somewhere else at some point. I'm worried with all the issues some retailers will stop taking pre-orders and just stock the shelves when they arrive. That would be a total nightmare for me and probably the end of my Amiibo collecting (by necessity since I don't have access to many brick and mortar stores).
 
Got one of those delay approval request emails from Amazon.com regarding my Mega Man Amiibo order. Obv. approved it. Kinda bummed though because in the past these delay approval things mean they don't have enough to fill my order. :(

If it was me, I wouldn't contact them. Who knows where those amiibos were supposed to go. I'd hate for them to request I send them somewhere or back to them on my own dime. If it was local Amazon I would do it, but not Amazon France. That's just me.

Edit: I would hold on to them for a while in case Amazon figures out the mistake. I wouldn't give them away or sell them just yet.
 
No, mine is cancelled too. I might be done with Amiibos. If I do decide to continue purchasing them I'm importing from Japan exclusively. I'm done with NOA's bullshit.


Did status changed into cancelled? I thought that they would transferring those Amiibo to your store?

There was a glitch where buying the season pass got you the full game for free or instead.

The website says closed means either the transaction was completed, or the item was canceled. Didn't get a phone call, so I assume it was canceled.
 
Amazon e-mailed me that my preorder of Ike amiibo from November 24 was still trying to be filled. If it can't be, they will cancel it on March 6.

I got a similar notice for mega man. I'm seriously pissed about this. I can't find figures in stores, I couldn't preorder a bunch of them and the few I did preorder are getting cancelled. They are making it very hard for me to give them money.
 
Amazon us just sent me an email saying they are still trying to find Ike and wanted me to update my order for them to keep trying. My shiek and sonic still have a release date of March and I ordered them day 1. Really tempted to give up on this line.

We talked about this yesterday. Apparently shipments are now leaving warehouses. You'd know if any arrived in your area by the store tracker, pre-order or not because it shows all stock a store has.

IIRC once it's delivered to you it's legally yours, so they can't make someone return erroneous shipments. And since it's their error, they really can't (or at least shouldn't) retroactively charge you. While there's the occasionally douchey company, the vast majority will just tell you to keep the erroneous order and leave it at that. A while back Best Buy accidentally sent people who ordered iPads online entire boxes of 5 iPads, and Best Buy just told them to do whatever the hell they want with the extras.

Also, the fact that it's a foreign branch of Amazon doesn't change any of that.
 
Just called. They didn't receive any Shulk amiibos yet. So yep, preorder canceled without notice from GameStop.

Go to the store that you selected in store pick up. Have your order printed out so they have the #. Have them check it in their system. If it is, then pay it off in store now.

Don't trust customer service and instead go to the store the order was set up for.

Nope. They have a poor system. Others had their status set to closed and went in store and their order was not cancelled. Closed on GS site just means the order is complete. In the case of in store pick ups, means the order is ready to pick up soon.

This has always been the case for years at GS. Go to the store you selected for In Store pick up. Other people in the exact same situation as you (the status switching to closed) went to the store in person and the order was still in their system and they just paid it off.
 
So nobody else had their Shulk pre-order cancelled at Gamestop? Mine was for in-store pickup. I didn't receive any sort of notification, but when I went to check the order status on the website, it said it was "Closed." When I contacted customer service, they said they cancelled my pre-order because they didn't receive enough stock from the manufacturer.

This. It appears this is just turning into another amiibo debacle, lol

All true. Also it's their mistake so you shouldn't have to spend your own money to rectify their mistake. Personally, I still would call them and let them know. If Amazon is willing to pay for all shipping (which they usually do), I wouldn't mind shipping it back.

But I don't judge others. It was Amazons fault. My experience is that Amazon usually tells you to keep the extra stuff anyways.
 
TO THOSE WORRYING ABOUT THEIR "CLOSED" SHIP-TO-STORE GAMESTOP ORDERS:

Don't be alarmed. It happened to literally everyone with a ship-to-store order. The store of your choice HAS your preorders in their system. If you are concerned, go to your store, give them the phone number or order number associated with the order and they will be able to pull it up on their side. Then just pay off your order to cement your preorder with them and you shouldn't have to worry.

Mine as well.

Get on chat or phone with Amazon customer support they should be able to change the auto cancellation of that order
 
Yeah, GameStop.com has an odd system when it comes to in-store pre-orders made from the website. If your in-store pre-order says closed and has a non-zero total, you're more than likely in the clear. If it says closed and has 0.00 as a total, you might have a problem. In either scenario, you better go down to your store with the order confirmation and make sure that order is still in the system and, if you can, pay it off right there and then.
 
I just got an e-mail from Amazon saying that they are unable to ship my toon link as there are none available.

It asked me if I wanted to wait until March 6th or if I would like to cancel. Obviously I chose to continue waiting.

I pre-ordered it a month ago!

Definitely will be stopping by after work. This preorder mess can get really crazy. Before amiibos, I never had any issue with things being preordered. I was confident in the system. But now, a little nervous that a preorder doesn't mean what it used to mean. I have a Monster Hunter 4 New 3DS preordered through GameStop. Really hope that one goes through flawlessly.

I just got the same. :( Argh, his is the one amiibo I want more than any other one from any wave. I'd start looking elsewhere, but it's not officially out yet... even though Sonic isn't supposed to be officially out until 2/20 either, and I'm getting him Friday... god, all this release date shit is such nonsense. Nintendo has really bungled this.
