Eh, I liked the ending.
The ending/final boss is that bad? Are we talking Mass Effect 3-tier bad? (If possible, could the reasons why it is bad be communicated without discussing plot details?)
EDIT: I understand from previous discussion that the gameends on a cliffhanger, but the way some people are reacting it sounds like there's more to it than just that which makes it bad.
whats with devs lately having, have they forgot how to make a game or get lazy and say "ah fuck it"the final boss battles as qte

It's...the writing seems a bit off, especially from one character. Dialogue, that makes sense, comes off as a cliche to those types of situations in entertainment.
Can't really call the fight much of a boss fight. Which isn't an issue for me, but I know some people keep hoping for the return of traditional boss battles.
Definitely not Halo 4 or ME3 bad though. I'd say it's...unremarkable. Not great, not bad. Presentation is good, but the writing at that bit isn't so much, so unremarkable. Doesn't help that it's anticlimactic.
I see, sounds reasonable enough. It's somewhat disappointing to learn that the writing will go a bit off towards the end, but I guess it's always good to keep my expectations in check and be prepared for these kinds of issues.
Just woke up. Checking The Order threads.

So who the fuck is a liar here? Some people say it has way more gameplay than most tps with cutscenes and it's 12 hours long, some people say it's 80% cutscenes and 5 hours long.
What in the flying fuck? What's so hard about being honest?
I'm now back from day one to waiting after reviews. Too bad we can't even rely on gaffers anymore.
Chapter 5 is the blimp level? That one is at least some amount of gameplay.Based on the total from the youtube videos so far in the walkthrough, it's 4.5 hours long with little to no exploration or interaction with objects around the scenes/characters, not sure which difficulty mode and that's the ending battle + Chapter 1 to 13 and the title of 14
Depends how many chapters there are and the remaining length.
I'm now 4.2 hours in. The game has been 80%ish cutscene so far.

For what it's worth, the final bossis the exact same type of QTE battle as the other elder lycans.
Seriously wtf?
This game is starting to sound like the AAA industry hitting rock bottom fucking hell.......
This sounds like far worse then max paynes 3 campaign cutscene/gameplay ratio without the best ever gunplay and a MP.
Welcome to current gen! A pile of disappointment. My money's on bloodbourne then it's game over until crackdown. Just give me starfox and zelda asap please. Hopefully platinum might be allowed to go for it with scalebound. Uncharted just has to be good but this has to be the worsed start to a generation ever? Surely.
How many girls you know are named Zelda?
Whats the ration between gameplay and cinematics? WHats it like compared to max payne 3s campaign?
2 chapters still need to be accounted for but the current playtime for the Prologue + chapters 1-13 is 05:01:37
That's without inspecting the notes/papers/pictures or picking up any of the audio logs
If you remove the chapters that are almost exclusively cutscenes the playtime is 04:03:01
Unless those next 2 chapter are OD long, his claim of 5 hours and some change seems to be accurate.
You're missing 4 chapters, not 2. There are 18 chapters including the epilogue and prologue. And if you're playing the game without doing any of the other stuff, that's akin to a speed run. I don't get why anyone would play it like that unless they basically intentionally wanted to rush through it.
As I mentioned before, you can complete Gears of War in an hour and a half, doesn't mean that's how much gameplay there is. Likewise with Uncharted at 1 hour, or Resident Evil 4 at 1 hour and a half too.

Probably about 50/50. Also, Max Payne 3 is one of the games that it most resembles. This almost certainly has more cutscenes, but it also seems to have better pacing.
Talk about overreaction...
To be fair, it's a lot less stupid than Metal Gear Solid 4. I haven't seen a character breakdance with giant robots tied to his feet.Hmm, so like MGS4 ?
As far as I can tell he wasn't speerunning the game. Those Uncharted and Gears times are with glitches, skips, or completely running pass enemies to the next checkpoint to de-load them. None of that happens here.
I know this is a spoiler thread, but I'm not here looking for spoilers, just some info from people who have seen a lot (or the entire thing) or have beaten the game.
What's the gameplay pacing like? Are there lengthy stretches where the game leaves you alone to explore and shoot with the pace swaying back and forth seamlessly, or is the entire game as we've seen it in the demos so far with cutscene and contextual interruptions after every major event, and "down time" being very clearly sectioned off from the action? Basically, would I be walking into another Max Payne 3 where ~40% of a normal playthrough is some kind of cutscene, or does it come across like a game that actually lets you play and get comfortable moving your protagonist through environments naturally? I've been seeing chatter of multiple chapters containing only a 5 minute cutscene- how true is this and does that happen frequently?
Remember, I don't want any real spoilers, just some indication of what kind of game we're dealing with here.

how else do you propose Raiden should've gotten rid of the gekko?
Zandatsu obvs.

his arms and legs were restrained.
This is from the Youtube video that is making the rounds, so grain of salt and all that, but the pacing is like a more cutscene-heavy version of a Naughty Dog game insofar as the rhythm is cutscene-gunfight-light puzzle-cutscene-gunfight-light platforming section-cutscene-gunfight-cutscene, etc. The puzzle/platforming/exploration stuff seems less robust than in a Naughty Dog game though. It is similar to Max Payne 3 in that there seem to be more constraints than in any recent ND game as far as level and encounter design and the cutscenes are a little more intrusive. Think Naughty Dog-lite mixed with MP3 and you're on the right track. Also, yeah, there are a number of 5 minute cutscenes, although none are Kojima length.
