Nintendo Financial Results Meeting rescheduled for February 17th.

Which companies do that?

Many companies in the interactive entertainment industry provide webcasts of their financial briefings. Activision Blizzard, EA, Sony and Ubisoft, to name a few, do it.

I hope the Amiibo/N3DS supply issue in N.America is asked about in the Q&A

No kidding. I'm sure they aren't happy missing out on potential sales and only making the scalpers richer.

QoL was discussed at great length at the October meeting. Personally, I'd like them to focus a bit more on non-QoL topics than they did in October.

I personally don't think so. What are the profit margins, what is the expected earnings, is it a Japan product-only, what kind of partnership have they established with Resmed, etc.

There are many unanswered questions, but still hope they concentrate the Q3 meeting on what was established last year: IP licensing & digital offerings.

They already confirmed this a long time ago.

It'd be nice if we got more info about their plans for a unified architecture across handhelds and home consoles, but I'm not holding my breath.
OK, maybe a little

These events are the where we've heard all the details we know so far about the unified platform. It's extremely likely that they'll talk about it.

Not really, that was just the first product of their QoL line. Truthfully, it looks like their Vitality Sensor / Wii Relax prototype shifted into that first product they unveiled. There will be several others covering edutainment, fitness, etc.

I'm hoping to hear some more on the QOL plans, confirmation that they are working on a new home console, and a bomb (Metroid or F-Zero) for 2016.

+ QoL
+ Console / Portable
+ Non-Gaming IP Licensing
+ Amiibo / NFC Cards

That seems like their big focus for 2015-2017 as far as where Nintendo hopes to maintain and expand revenue. I think they are bailing out of the EAD "public space initiative" which they were hoping was going to be big in Japan a few years ago. (Shigureden Museum, DS Guide, DS Classroom, etc.)

I'm hoping we hear something about the Netflix Zelda myself. As I said in the other thread, a while slate of DC films were revealed at a WB investor meeting, it's certainly possible we'll hear something here.

Yea me too and at least someone ask them about it in a Q&A

Also the new program replacing Club Nintendo

and maybe a few solid release dates to drive WiiU sales since investors will like to know that

Like has been said last year Mario Kart month and Amiibos announced which both ended up being huge

I'll be surprised if at least one game date isn't revealed for the next couple of months since other than Kirby on friday it's quite empty.

April is currently the only month in the near future that doesn't have a Wii U game scheduled. Mario Party 10 is scheduled for March, and Splatoon is May.

Late 80s/Early 90s Nintendo making a return? I'll take that.

Splatoon is May? I thought that was just rumored, but it's possible I may have missed it.

It was announced in the January direct. It's probably got Mario Kart 8's slot at the end of the month, too.

Cool, glad for the people excited for it. Maybe "Devils Third" will be April then. Though having both of their competitive 3PS month after month (no matter how different they look) might not be the best bet.

NO!

It's the bit where you purposefully exaggerate your dislike while acknowledging the general excitement by others with a dismissive tone. Word choice.
That first piece of art is fucking fantastic. I really like super-angular design.

I suspect that will likely be a September title, just so they can give Splatoon more room and (hopefully) get it away from the comparative heavy hitters for shooters, albeit with the realistic expectation that MGS5 will hit the same month.

To be fair I don't think the audiences for MGS5 and either of those games have a huge overlap.

But maybe you are right. I was thinking maybe summer would be better, with Aug/Sept being Xenoblade X here in NA.

I was going to make a thread about this a while ago about this topic, but didn't think it was worth it, that being that I personally LOVE mystery site teases, what do I mean?

Pandora's Tower. Remember when that was announced, we didn't know the genre or developer? All we had was the teaser site, with the platform being Wii, a name, a piece of art, and a BEAUTIFUL piece of piano music and our imaginations ran wild.

I want that again! Give us a mystery new IP, preferably what would be a JRPG, and just make our imaginations go wild trying to think of what it could be.

I bet no-one would've guessed that the developer was Ganbarion, who are the One Piece Unlimited series devs.

Yeah, that would be cool. Or another Wario Land game instead!

From Gibson anyway. Hopefully someone else will provide live tweets. Shame Nintendo doesn't offer a webcast, that would be much easier (for everyone).

why doesn't he do live tweets anymore?

Change to his company's policy, from the sounds of it.

There's also inherently a certain propensity for error when you're not only attempting to live-blog in 140-character increments, but live-translate to English. Last year, for instance, Gibson inaccurately tweeted that Nintendo was no longer taking a per-unit loss on Wii U hardware; what Iwata had actually said was that Nintendo's losses on Wii U hardware for the current fiscal year would be minimal... but only because most of the units they were projecting to ship had already been manufactured in the FY that ended last March, and the loss had thus already been absorbed.

Hashtag hashtag?
#TooSeriousForMii

I hopewe get a couple new announcements. We usually do. Maybe CN replacement, tho I seriously am doubting that they actually will have a replacement for some reason heh.

When CN was discontinued, Nintendo stated that the program would have a successor.

Just finished my cs test early so hopefully the conference takes place during my little break. Especially curious to see something more concrete about the QOL stuff.

Can't wait for all your ... Post briefing moans ;d

Anyway qol4life

Yeah, I expect a lot of Nintendo so sometimes I get a bit hasty with criticism and level out. Like I hated the n3ds xl majoras mask at first but now I think it looks great.

Anyway yeah QOL seems a given and at least addressing the Netflix question at hand.

I wouldn't necessarily expect to see any tidbits until after the meeting at the earliest--no live tweeting from GibboGame this time.

Yeah, I wouldn't expect much until the slides go up after the meeting, unless someone tracks down another Twitter account posting tidbits.

Yeah, sucks about that other guy. Wonder why his company would care unless they were pressured by nintendo

All information at the stockholder meeting is public(-ish) information. Presumably it's just a matter of his new company not finding it sufficiently professional to live-tweet stockholder meetings, but that's just conjecture on my part. I doubt it's of any real import to Nintendo, it's not like he's badmouthing them in these tweets and only the most eager Nintendo fans are following those tweets during the meeting before Nintendo has disseminated the information through their preferred channels.
