Nintendo Financial Results Meeting rescheduled for February 17th.

I wouldn't count on it.

"WHY AREN'T THERE BETTER OPTIONS ON THE FOOD TRAYS OUTSIDE?! EVERYONE TAKES THE GRAPES BEFORE I GET HERE, AND ALL THAT'S LEFT ARE THE REALLY SHITTY MUSHY ONES! I DEMAND RECOMPENSE!"

Hey now... Mushy grapes is worth complaining about. People have gone to war for less.

Nintendo to release special edition Amiibo in every region except NA...

On a timer? Why even bother with that shit...

Free demo with every amiibo! Eh, it does no harm, but maybe a kid who has a Link/Mario amiibo because they like them in smash might actually try out the game (not that they're not in the masterpieces section or anything....)

HEREEEE WE GOO! Another painful road to try to collect them all haha. Thanks for the info, StreetsAhead!

It's like Smash Bros's Masterpieces that you unlock by owning an amiibo. Basically a way of showing "here are some games this character is from!"

Hmm nothing really special in this report ;.;

Hopefully QA will be a bit more lively lol

Edit: Streets, is that the sellthough for Majora's Mask 3D?

I realize that shit like this is inevitable but....I really dislike it. I'm okay with Amiibos in concept but I'm just terribly afraid of what they could do with them going forward.

Maybe that means they'll shift more fucking stock here then.

Having playable demos tied to amiibos is a great way to expose people to the games these characters come from. It's totally harmless and should help push sales of the VC, maybe they'll support it more.

Only two noticeable things I can gather:

Miyamoto previously hinted that both Project Guard and Project Giant Robot would probably be integrated into Star Fox as like side-missions or extra game modes. But Iwata's presentation singles out Project Giant Robot while omitting Project Guard. So maybe Robot will be released as its own product (eshop?).

Amiibo Virtual Console thing is the other.

I don't mind it because it literally has zero negative impact if you chose to ignore it.

It's Virtual Console demos. Nothing more.

Card based amiibo is so bloody dumb. Just supply the real thing. Nintendo can be so annoying.

I agree with this. Seems like a way to just not make as many none mainline amiibos and not care about the people that get them as a toy/collectable. Will have to see how well the cards sell to see if it is actually a good business move though since I could be overestimating the amount of people that like them as figures first and what they do in games second.

Yokai Watch and Pokemon.

Shame that they stopped giving us those beautiful European charts for sales of all home consoles and handhelds. I guess WiiU bombing so bad and 3DS not having real competition (as Vita is dead) are the reasons.

Good luck finding a retailer willing to shelve all 50 Smash Amiibo, plus the ones for every other game.

Booster packs with random card/cards in it. Cash in on another collectable market while still making it hard for people to get the ingame content of certain characters. :3

During the peak of Pokemon TCG, booster packs were extremely hard to find. Basic/Jungle/Fossil packs...good luck

Aw man, those were the days! Loved hunting for those cards and was immensely jealous of my friend who managed to collect all of the starters for both Kanto and Johto. His dad got big into Pokemon card collecting too so that just made it all the more easier for him.

I may get some Amiibo cards.

Quick questions, are the any physical differences between an QR card and a regular trading card because imagine if they made the Pokemon TCG amiibo based. It'd be something. Play against other people online, not having to carry every card you have everywhere.

If Nintendo wanted to make some serious money, they'd have each Pokemon card give you a random egg from that Pokemon's lineage one time each day or week or whatever.

I know what it is, but this kind of thing just scares me. Digital content, on-timer, tied to Amiibo, it doesn't really mean anything significant for now since it's just demos but I just don't like increased focus on Amiibos in general, I want them to mostly be a side thing that you can ignore for the most part and I'm afraid that we'll get to a point where Amiibo integration is significant enough that you can't ignore them if you just want to play Nintendo games. This also stems from the fact that going forward most Nintendo games seem to have some kind of Amiibo functionality.
