The Order 1886 | Impressions Thread of not shooting the messenger.

The strangest thing about this game is how many furnaces are lovingly built, with no reason for it gameplay wise at all.

I just laugh when I encounter one now.

The same could be asked of your post. What was the point of coming into a thread for impressions of a game and saying what you did.

Console warz.
I didn't say I did anything. I stated what I would do if it had happened.
The point of my post is that it's a shame this game launched amongst a lot of hype when it's been done before but with so much content.
Why would sony do that? Maybe it's because the other console hasn't yet launched their first party TPS yet so the comparison for this gen is weak.

Still making no point in relation to the thread.

Not everything revolves around console competition.

And why? Maybe that's all the dev can feasibly put out within the schedule that they have, and the resources they have. Or it could be your reason. Or it could be because Sony doesn't demand MP from its devs if it's a resource-hog? Or that they had to re-adjust their plans because reasons or whatever.

The other console doesn't have a big-budget 'Quantic Dream-like experience', yet Sony's funded 3 of them anyway.

Horrible downgrade.

Holy shit. I am in awe of what this engine can produce. Fuck, I hope this game does well enough for them to make a sequel and really go out with more gameplay and a kick ass MP where you fight Lycans and shit. Damn, so much promise in this universe.

I assume the pre-load will be today?

I believe so, at least for the US store. I was using the PS App on my phone a few minutes ago and was able to download the game to my PS4. The link now reads 'Sent To Download Queue.'

I'd have to get home to actually verify, but I'm pretty sure it's up for Pre-Load now.

Gotta say I'm proud of myself. Haven't watched any footage even though I want so so so bad.

*pat myself in the back*

Two more days.

Yeah, this thread has been (mostly) excellent for keeping spoilers and trolls at bay, and has finally got back to game impressions. I feel like I'm going into this game pretty fresh. Thank goodness for the other two threads; one for spoilers, one for trolls.

Many people don't like heavily cinematic games and if those are successful, more devs will follow the trend?
What is wrong if more devs follow the trend? Are cinematic games prohibited in gaming industry?

And not to mention that there will always be developers making games other than cinematic ones. I'm not sure what your worry is :p

If those people are so scared of cinematic games, are they scared of COD style campaigns and mutiplayer? Cause that genre hasn't suddenly take over the world and its been making mad money for years now. These folks needs to realize, it's ok if I don't like cinematic games and others do. The world isn't ending and neither is video games.

So what (they can just avoid the game) and no? I'm sure videogame variety will be fine if the Order is a success, if you've lived through the days of Pac-Man clones, I think you'll be fine.

I hope the Order is a success though, I want more from RAD.

If this game is successful, that's pretty much it for the industry as we know it. A single-player campaign will never top 1.5 hours of gameplay again.

Pre-ordering today.

I actually wouldn't be surprised if CoD Advanced Warfare had more QTEs than The Order. There were a lot more in that game than usual for CoD.

And everyone should be against using that argument unless they want to open Pandora's box and anyone can use that argument against games they dont like.
I've always said the same. I'm not a fan of platformers, especially 2D platformers, but I'd never try to deprive people of what they enjoy. It's a terrible way to think about not only games but life in general.

More people need to realize the freeing power of saying "meh, not for me" and being done with discussing said thing.

Yeah, it had loads - with tiny fucking icons so you always failed the first few times; that part hopping around on the motorway between buses like the Matrix 2 was hilariously shit. Still enjoyed the game though, even if it took away all the best toys for some levels and had no replay value (except it did because it was stupid fun). I only ever buy the COD games for single player, and usually pay full price - I guess I'm one of those people who wants gaming to fail.

To laugh at you for coming into a thread about the order and making such a ridiculous comment about xbox one and gears.

Anything else ?
No thanks, I'm finished but still left wondering why you didn't see the point I am trying to make.
I know it's an impressions thread but there's no OT.
I'll never understand why some finish a post with anything else but then arrogance and being an asshole sometimes go together like fish and chips.

How can you not get this. Your post was off topic. This is a thread for people who have played the game to give impressions. Playing the victim here is not going to fly.

Yep, same here. Played AW through 3 times back to back and if I'm bored and just want to shoot stuff I'll just load up a chapter and run through it. That's replay value to me. Only really played MP while talking with friends on party chat.

Oh it's not my worry. I absolutely love these kinds of games and know I'll enjoy TO despite all the negativity. I just don't see any other reason for the vitriol against these games.

The initial reception to Xenosaga ep 1 and Beyond Two Souls stand out to me. Both games were panned by many on GAF but I loved them :)
