Kids liked Warrior just like kids like Cena and Reigns now. I'm sure the "hardcore/smart fans" back in the 80s didn't like Warrior either. A lot of them didn't even like Hogan.
It was a LOT harder to be smart back then.

Everyone loved Hogan.. it's why he was as big as he was.

I'd take it. I'm not saying WWE shouldn't change things up, and maybe hold off on Reigns, I'm saying forcing Bryan into it because fans are booing (again) isn't the answer.

See. THIS is the new Smark.

With information so readily available, most fans are pretty aware of what goes on behind the scenes. Wrestler popularity has to be more organic then ever these days; much less manufactured. It's pretty easy to understand why the crowd is turning on Reigns. The going all out, doing everything in the book in trying to put him over feels insulting to the fan's intelligence.

You guys still don't get it. Not once in the last thirteen years has it been about what the fans want. It's been about making one person happy, period. He won the war. Two wars. Until he dies that'll be his spoils. On the other hand, it's hard to fault a big corporation to want to present a product that it's most comfortable with. That's sort of the nature of the beast, so I can have it both ways.

But in the meantime, isn't it fun to watch the fans believe that they matter?

The crowd didn't turn on Reigns. Smarks did. We all know what smark refers to, except the smarks who are mad that it's become a derogatory term like mark was years ago.

It's what the WWE has been doing for a better part of their existence. If it is this infuriating you are only insulting yourself by continuing to support and watch them.

I'M FINISHED!

Um exCUSE me Sakurai but CLEARLY the best choice for Smash Bros would be my fav niche character HOWEVER you are clearly INCOMPETENT and

You wouldn't have known that from the crowd reactions Hogan and Warrior got. Cena gets booed in a way that is unmatched for a top babyface and Reigns could potentially be following suit.

I was fully prepared for Roman winning, but man it still sucked considering Bryan did most of the work To make that a respectable main event.

and yet, despite being booed over the years, Cena remained the top earner, top draw, top merch guy over the last 10 or so years...so why would Reigns getting boo'ed deter the WWE from pushing him? Is it not just the nature of wrestling in 2015 that the top face gets divisive reactions?

So a company shouldnt give it fans what they want?

Sometimes, the fans don't know any better. if you asked your average WWF fan what they wanted in 1986, they would've said the faces winning weekly and the heels always losing.

And in reality, they would've hated that.

I think he will come and go, but it won't be from a lack of trying. Vince will try to make him the top guy, but I don't think it'll take.
I agree as a fan since the hogan days you can see which guys have it hogan , Shawn , austin , cena for the most part . Once Vince figures it out reigns will be another transitional champ .

It takes a special kind of stupid to pay for and comment about a wrestling event on a message board and then call someone else a smark in a derogatory way

If it wasnt was for merch cena would have been the top guy for ten years, and regins doesnt really have a good merch thing.

I think this is the only form of entertainment in which portions of the fanbase hate each other. What the fuck guys. Why is everyone so antagonistic? And I'm not just referring to the Bryan/Reigns thing. Just this idea that we have to deride each other because of the guy we cheer for. Fans of Reigns try to rundown and single out those who cheered for Bryan and those who get rundown do the same thing back. I would say can't we all just get along, but that's a lost cause at this point.

Some people are mad that other people are mad that some others are mad that some others could be salty. Will wrestling fans ever come together and spread some love brehs.

Because BEFORE Cena was getting mixed reactions, he was a top guy who sold a shit ton of merch for years. When they pan the crowd at a WWE event, how much Reigns merch do you see?

The good things about Reigns winning the title at Mania: his title win being booed to all hell and then Seth cashing in the next night on Raw to take the title.

Psst...google this thing. It's called Gamergate.

Fans want to boo Cena and Reigns. Fans want to feel like Bryan is an underdog and constantly getting the shaft. The WWE is giving you what you want, you just don't realize it.

This is exactly what the uppers at WWE thing and is exactly why the product is so weak right now.

Everyone of those people who went to the Royal Rumble and boo'd their lungs out knew Reigns was gonna win and still bought a ticket. What else should the uppers at WWE think?

Just finished the show. Wow, barf at the main event.

Bryan carried Roman to an ok match, because he's Daniel Bryan. Roman looked clunky, and crappy as usual. It's kind of stunning that he's actually in the Wrestlemania main event.

Awful stuff from WWE, as most of it usually is.
I love the hyperbole. Really entertaining stuff post PPVs.

So that was an interesting PPV. Watched it with my nephew and he was totally marking for the Undertaker intro even though I knew it was Bray. Was surprised that Cena lost and lost cleanly for the most part too. I'm kind of dreaming the Reigns Lesnar WM match though. I predict trainwreck coming.

Overall I thought it was a very meh ppv.

"The yes chant is over, not Daniel Bryan."

Can't believe people still actually believe this bullshit
They believe it because that's the Kool-Aid Vince's people have been pushing for 3 years now.
It is a fact that Bryan isn't as over as he was last year but that's in large part due to being sabotaged by booking. (Reigns has been sabotaged by booking as well.)
The booking has, frankly, never been worse than it is right now.

I'll stop disliking Daniel Bryan fans when they stop acting like Daniel Bryan fans.
People often say the same thing about Sony fans.

Actually there wasn't hyperbole. Roman isn't a good wrestler, Daniel Bryan is a great wrestler. WWE is incompetent in a number of ways, and often puts out a crappy product.
