New direct feed (but 1280x720) Final Fantasy XV screens from the demo, also Type-0 HD

Ok, not FF.

More fantastic areas.

It does look fantastic though :P

But to be honest, FFXV is suppose to be 'fantasy based on reality'

The world in FFXV is meant to look like real world, not fantasy world. I am sure we will see some 'fantasy' looking areas as well, but I am sure there will be many areas that look like something you would see in real world, with some fantasy elements added to it.

I can't wait to explore this playground.

Seeing as how huge the Duscae area is, and how it's fully explorable, I have reignited hope that we can go everywhere in this city.

Edit: Fixed Image

I don't think public features are relevant when you have access to the devkit.
It may not be necessary, but if it is media checking out the demo, then they probably wouldn't be the ones taking the screens of demo, unless they had screenshot function ;)

Well, then, if we're assuming 4gamer took the screenshots rather than being supplied by Squeenix PR, I highly doubt a Japanese site is going to take pictures of a (or the) JRPG on XB1 over PS4

I'm not saying that an original piece of music would have saved FFXIII's ending, but it would have been better than just plucking out a random popular song in a futile attempt to attract a market that doesn't give a shit about Final Fantasy to their game.
I agree. The original Japanese pop ballad was lackluster, but it WAS written specifically FOR FFXIII. IMO, that makes it a more fitting fit(hehe) than simply licensing an already existing song and tacking into the game for the sake of trying to appeal to... well, whom ever would've found THAT kind of thing appealing.

Oddly enough, I feel similar to movies. Love me original music written specifically for a movie. Seems like everybody loves to license the hell out of already popular songs solely to piggyback off the popularity of those tunes. Urgh!

Also, is it odd to say my favorite vocal songs in the FF series are "Memoro de la S^Tono" and "Answers"? Love those two songs more than any of the other vocal songs in the series, even "Eyes on Me".

It's not the media checking the demo. They're official screens from Square. You can also see the circle button in the camp scene, so these are from the PS4 version.

Ah ok, thanks guys. I was just excited at the potential of PNG screens being used more prominently. Sorry, a bit distracted with some major dental chaos I'm currently... surviving -_-

To be fair, many fantasy locations(in movies and games like the FF series) tend to draw influence from our real world. That aside, the strange arc formations and the presence of the massive Astral Shard add some really fantastical elements to FFXV's world. The fact that a lot of fantasy creatures are roaming about doesn't hurt much either.

I'm going to need that XIV demo after how disappointed I was with XIII.

Luckily I was going to buy Type 0 anyway. Those screens look nuts.

Overall, I think some of the environments look great, but I can't stand how the characters look. Hopefully SE can go back to putting in people in their games that actually look like adventurers instead of some runway models and jpop stars.

Concerning Type-0, is this another situation where it's actually a fantastic game packed with the lastest FF demo, as was the case with Brave Fencer Musashi? I know nothing about T-0, is it an action RPG, turn-based?

It's action. It seems really hit or miss with people but it is a super mature story and really does not dance around death and really shows the horrors of wars. I am pretty hyped for it. I haven;'t played it yet but from everything I have heard it sounds really interesting.

These are press images given to Japanese outlets by Square Enix.
What's strange is the last batch we got a few weeks ago was 1080p: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=979403
Even Type-0 HD is 720p in these screenshots so I am sure that the website (4gamer) resized them. No idea why they did it.

Here are all the Type-0 HD screenshots including trophy/achievement notifications and the tease of secret movie for HD version.

Secret Movie (HD Exclusive)

I believe Final Fantasy XV will be my first foray into the world of Square Enix.

Believe it or not, I have never fully played any core Final Fantasy game in my life, aside from a few demos of Theatrhythm and (very fun when I tried it) Dissida.

I have heard and seen so many great things about this series and while I'm not looking to try another entry in the series right now, FF XV looks to be something seriously exciting and worth trying.

I like what I have seen of it and eagerly await to play it on a console soon.

Does the XBO run at a lower resolution or did 4gamer goof the scaling?

Good to hear! FF games don't have any ties in to each other so you know just as much as any of us going in!

this will probably be the first final fantasy I play through to the end. I've only played some of VI, X, XII, XIII. Action rpg's are more my thing and I've been dying to play Versus XIII since middle school so I'm hyped as heck for this.

that's new somnus

all i want to know is if old somnus is in the game

i don't like the redesign

Falk, are you teasing us or is there really a new version of Somnus?
I don't know whether to take you seriously or not.
Edit: Listening to the new version now. Vocals replaced with violin?

Speaking of Somnus, I only just recently realized that there were 2 different versions released during the Versus days. The Advent Children Complete arrangement is different from the one released on "drammatica."
