I am not a big fan of the graphics so far and I don't know if I can deal with those character designs. Funny how they get worse and worse (IMO) with each FF game.
protip: when caps and punctuation go out the window you probably can take what i say with a grain of salt
Doubt it. You can only warp to preset locations, I doubt the airship is part of that.

Not really. The images appear to have been natively rendered at much higher than 720p. After some quick and dirty pixel counting, I'd guess 1080p, with ~1000p as a minimum. Also a direct feed capture with 1280x720 res is a little worrying.
why are these guys using swords in a futuristic setting thats totally not cohesive and not final fantasy at all
Swords are not Final Fantasy?![]()

Huh. Could that mean they are indeed almost at 1080p? They confirmed that they didn't reach 1080p for the demo...
It was pretty unclear when they said it though. It might be mean they didnt reach 1080 and 30, i.e., it is currently below 30. Or that one version is below 1080. I would be surprised if they are rendering at the same res even at this stage.
Tabata said:For that, we are trying to work at the limits of the rating and that changed how we were proceeding with the game in a lot of ways. That is why we really started to get a feeling of in how many ways we can put these things in the game. We thought about a menu where you can choose freely how much blood you want to see or a DLC for a different rating. Obviously we want to work within the standards of our rating, but I am still planning some shocking moments in the story and in those moments, brutal scenes are really necessary..
JPGames: Can you tell us the file size of Final Fantasy XV: Episode Duscae?
Tabata: The overall size of the demo will be 5GB, but it uses the full processing memory of PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
JPGames: Now let me ask a personal question. When Final Fantasy Versus XIII was announced, I was 13 years old. I went through the whole puberty and I am still waiting for this game. How are you feeling about something so many people waited for so long?
Tabata: (laughs hard) You are waiting since you were 13?
JPGames: Yes!
Tabata: That was one of the main reasons why I wanted to release the demo. You know, to satisfy the fans. When we changed over from Final Fantasy Versus XIII to Final Fantasy XV, there was a big reshuffle and we had to re-evaluate everything and now it is an officially numbered Final Fantasy.
The importance and size of the project changed, a little bit like the context. But I am aware that there are still people waiting for Final Fantasy Versus XIII and not Final Fantasy XV. Do not be afraid, you are not alone. Even people in the team share those feelings, for example the lead artist who created the Behemoth. He first started on Final Fantasy Versus XIII when he was 26 years old and now he is 35 and still waiting for the fans to see his art. There is a really strong feeling that we have to bring it to the world and make a game that everyone can enjoy. We HAVE to stop delaying it!
JPGames: You worked on two gigantic projects and both are getting closer and closer to the finishing line. Do you have any plans, ideas or maybe wishes for future projects?
Tabata: Obviously, from now on, I have to focus on the biggest thing which is Final Fantasy XV. All my time will be spent on it, but my studio has a number of other big projects and obviously those are all projects that we can not reveal yet. But I am very excited. You can really look forward to those.
JPGames: And now, to conclude, just a yes-no question! Can you tell us something about Stella?
01see1674480_03Tabata: Sorry, I can’t (laughs). But after the release of Final Fantasy Type-0 HD and Final Fantasy XV: Episode Duscae you can expect some new and interesting information about the story.
Some other interesting quotes:
Yeah Stella is almost 100% confirmed at this point.
Yeah Stella is almost 100% confirmed at this point.
The most interesting thing here is that they might want to change the rating with DLC to add gore.
I wonder why Tabata is so secretive about Stella.
I mean, she's obviously still in, so what's the surprise there?
I don't think there's any secrecy, they probably just want to re-introduce her with a bang and highlight her as the heroine (?) of the story.
Yeah , she'll almost certainly join the party as a guest.
Yeah, I suppose. Gotta have something for E3 =PI don't think there's any secrecy, they probably just want to re-introduce her with a bang and highlight her as the heroine (?) of the story.
She can be both. It's even better if at one point she was a party guest. If Tabata really want to deliver on the tragic stuff he should allow us to fight Stella to the death!

In JRPGs, swords > guns. I don't doubt it has roots in the whole "idolizing samurai" thing. That being said, if anybody is new to JRPGs, they sooner, rather than later, get it through their heads that swords will ALWAYS rule. If they don't like it, these games aren't for them.Though I think with the recent footage I can understand at least a bit if someone who's new to FF(XV) is confused when they only saw four fashionistas run around fighting monsters, not seeing the car or knowing that the game also has modern elements^^ It IS a very unusual mix of settings (and I love it!).
Very bold, and true, question.
I was 12 goddamit.
But i never stopped believing.

I was 15, and a month after the announcement I interviewed Yoko Shimomura at Play! A Video Game Symphony(worked for kh2.co.uk at the time). I remember asking her if she was planning to do all live recorded music now that she would have the absolutely enormous capacity of BluRays(they felt much bigger back then).
She basically said that she would love to, but things were so early that she didn't know how things would pan out. Also at the time only Somnus had been composed. It was funny cause she spoke to me as if I had heard Somnus, but back in 2006 Square was still highly secretive with trailers and hadn't made it public at all.
PS: Yes I had my interview questions loaded onto a PSP.

You know what's the best part about Type-0 release? People get to play FFXV Duscae.
You know what's the second best part about Type-0 release? Maybe the FFXV marketing will finally move on past Duscae.
HYPE
oh also being able to play Type-0 comes in at 3rd place
The best thing will be when people stop pestering poor Wan Hazmer about things he has no involvement in![]()
I can't believe in less than a month I'll actually be playing Final Fantasy XV.
Is this a dream? Will Hashimoto suddenly pop up on the screen and laugh at me when I start the game?

Honestly, people who are being skeptics are only doing so because they've been hurt over 9 years.
Hahahaha man, it really has been a long time, hasn't it.
Kinda crazy how everyone's moved about yet we're all still around.
Shimomura's still composing for the game and has indeed moved on to recording so much stuff live.
I've gone from music as a hobby and listening to Somnus over and over to working on Shimomura's music (KH2.5, FFXV trailers, etc) with Video Game Orchestra
Jason Michael Paul (PLAY!) is now running the Zelda Symphony tour, at which VGO is performing for the Boston show in like a few days.
Shimomura is visiting Boston again in April for Anime Boston
Because she's a woman, and so is Noctis. Why is Shimomura sitting like Noctis?
Wow, I'm so glad they asked that first question. That's exactly how I feel and it's good for Tabata and the developers to know that there's so many fans who have been waiting that long. The bolded part in particular just filled me with more hope and optimism for FFXV than anything else they've shown since it was announced as that.JPGames: Now let me ask a personal question. In regards to Stella, assuming she's still in, what's the point of the secrecy? She's not a new character, she's been in trailers, written about in Famitsu and and discussed by Nomura, even post XV re-reveal. If she's in the game, it wouldn't be some big surprise.
If she was in the game, it would do them more good to officially comment on it to calm the "XV is not Versus anymore" worries. I think they're just saving face by not saying anything on the matter because they know they'll get backlash by saying she was scrapped in favor of Luna.
Reworking the battle system was a technical issue necessary to see the game to completion and they were able to spin this as a positive claiming that such advanced game mechanics couldn't handle it,etc. They don't have that luxury by admitting to dropping an already established character/story element from Nomura's original vision, so it's probably better they remain silent on the matter.
Don't get me wrong, I think the character models and effects/lighting in this game look amazing, but the landscapes so far seem very lacking in grass and detail when you compare them to The Witcher 3 and Xenoblade Chronicles X:
Did I miss something? How much longer does FFXV have in development?
So taking a character off that had little more than a design (which already changed) would cause a bigger backlash than removing the battle system of the game?[...]

I think The Order has ruined contemporary game graphics for me. I look at these screens where before they would've blown my mind now all I can think is "Meh." Yes I realize they are entirely different scopes but to me FF games have always pushed the boundaries graphically and now that a new benchmark has been set these just come up short. All I can see now are the awful ground textures and weird plastic sheen on everything. Hype severely deflated. Here's to hoping we see a big jump between now and release.
