Looks like we're going to get a overall decebtly reviewed title here.
Probably Akin to rev 1Hd. The budget seems to be the biggest gripe but the price point seems to be negating it at the same time. Can't wait to play it all. Everything I have heard just from the first episode sounds like what Rev1 should have been.
Well, its episodic, I think they basically mean they're updating it as the episodes release, because when it's all released you can buy the whole thing on disk. So they don't want to score it and update their review as it comes along due to the episodic nature of the game.
Also, the reviewers apparently have the whole game right now, so they can play all four episodes and such right on the spot, so they may be holding back full thoughts for when the embargo's lift, or maybe decide to play it one episode at a time for review to express it as gamers will experience it.

I know, and probably be mentioned in the whole packaging deal. I also don't want to call them out on this because Eurogamer's review was insightful, but I feel they teased their full thoughts in their review, basically saying, "Episode 1 is good, its a good spin-off, some shortcomings, however if you wait a month or so, Revelations 2 may end up being a great spin-off."
I feel they want to say more but can't in that case. XD;
They said in Spring, but no other word on it. It's being handled by Sony and will be released a bit later, but will likely be a good port due to being handled by Sony.
Scores are higher than I expected. Think I'll pull the trigger on the 40$ version later this week. Bummer that I'll miss out on the pre-order bonuses, though.
I don' believe anything. Revelations has a PC average score of 77 on Metacritic and I think it was atrocious, boring and the worst (mainline) Resident Evil. 10 were too much. Not making the mistake again with Part 2.
Reviewers pan The Order but give this good reviews?
Yeah, I think I'm officially done with reviews. If there's a game I wanna play I'm just gonna play it and forget this crap. I want to play both Revelations 2 and The Order, so it's all good.

Um the one hour I played last already had more diverse gameplay situations than all of the order. plus raid mode is more fully fleshed out mode than the order is a game. Also replay value is through the roof as the game has all sorts of medals and trials to do, something the order has none of.

Were there any comments by the devs about possibly adding online coop?
Just found this:
On March 20th, the full content of Raid Mode will be released, that's when Wesker and HUNK will become available, the new costumes, when the Raid Mode Throwback pack will become available, etc. That's also when it's believed online will be added to Raid Mode.
For the campaign? No word. For Raid Mode? Yes. They have said Online will be added for Raid Mode, it'll come a bit after the fourth episode is released. My prediction is that online will come March 20th, as that's the day that the bonus stuff becomes available (Two Bonus Episodes, Wesker, HUNK, Raid Mode Throwback Pack, Costumes), and when the retail edition of the game is released, so I think that's when the online for Raid Mode goes live.
Maybe if the game does well they'll patch online into the main game, like how with RE6 they patched out cutscene QTEs, added camera adjustment, and added co-op to Ada's campaign months after release.

Was expecting worse reviews, but I never know what to expect anymore when it comes to RE. I know my views on RE are odd as I didn't like the series until 4 and I would put 6>5>4 and I think I was one of the three people that loved RE6 when it came out, although it does suffer from bloat. Looking forward to trying this out. I'm also hope we get Jake for raid mode. Loved his campaign in 6.
I don't want to take things anymore off topic, but I feel I need to explain where I'm coming from so I'm not seen as a troll or something; Everything I have seen of this game has been super rough. Low production values, bad voice acting, average combat mechanics and blatantly ripping off elements of other games but doing these elements poorly. The Order suffers from those last few points but definitely not the earlier ones. I honestly don't see how a reviewer can put down The Order then turn around and rate this game higher when it suffers from much of the same problems but with a noticable less amount of effort put into it. I guess Raid mode is the key to victory.
Hopefully people understand where I'm coming from at least.
I'm still debating on rather to get this on PC or PS4. I'd get it on PC if I knew mine will run it as well as the PS4 version, which I assume it will. I mean I can run RE6 a-okay, so this should run fine too right?
I'm just putting this here because I have played RE like a lot of you have and I could care less about reviews.
Don't let someone talk you out of liking it or buying it because their review said it was mediocre. You don't have to look far to fine someone who has a problem with RE either.
Too bad they couldn't of given the press late copies and let the fans play it first. Kind of like someone taking a dump in your house before you live in it.

I think I do, but actually it sounds like the final game turned out better than expected. Most of the reviews are saying the voice acting, for example, is actually pretty good, and apparently the game does a lot of unique twists. Some of them are things I weren't even aware were in the game, like a bleeding mechanic that sounds it was from the left-out RE2 build, or the flashlight mechanic Moria has. Apparently also makes a lot of people anticipate the second episode, so there's that.

Something I want to throw out there, I think Revelations 2 purposely stuffs together a lot of scrapped series concepts together. Like, I'm noticing a lot of things in this game are things that were scrapped from older Resident Evil games.
A few examples. The bleeding mechanic is extremely similar to a similar mechanic that was planned for Resident Evil 2, but was scrapped. The flashlight mechanic Moria is happens to be very similar to a flashlight mechanic that was planned for the Hookman version of Resident Evil 4, but was scrapped. The enemy with sewn-together body parts is a scrapped enemy from the series, I believe it was a scrapped idea for an enemy in Resident Evil 4 but the exact entry I may be mistaken on. I also know that the enemy seen in the Drama Trailer,
the Tyrant with mechanical parts, looks very similar to a scrapped Tyrant design that was supposed to be in Resident Evil 5, and on top of this, that Tyrant and Uroboros combine together, which was something else that was scrapped.
The director of this game notably has been working on the Resident Evil series since the first game, he was a programmer for Resident Evil 1. I have a feeling he snuck in some scrapped things through the franchise into the game.
