Samsung Galaxy S6 & S6 Edge Event - March 1st.

Alright so you have evidence that no one wants this feature, I have evidence that people do. Let's agree that some people want this feature. Apparently the population in Japan as pointed out in this thread.

I don't know how you can agree with a company removing useful features from a phone.

I never said I agree with it. It's like if you were complaining if Samsung got rid of airview or whatever the fuck that stupid thing was that the S4 had. I'm sure some people use it, but not enough where it would really make someone say they want X phone over Y phone (in the USA at least). Fine if you live in Japan and it's important their, but the S6 is clearly not for that market or if it is, they'll make another one with that feature like someone pointed out LG did.

I haven't been following this too closely but do we know why they got rid of the waterproofing? I don't know much about what's involved with it but I'd imagine that if you got rid of replaceable batteries and sd card slots it should be easier to waterproof a device.

Fucking flaps. I can't stand those. Although with wireless charging, it's not a huge deal.

Also why are we not making a bigger deal out of the wireless charging capability? Qi and Powermat standard on it? That's huge.

Because they want to be dumb like apple. They want to be the same as Apple. They don't like their fans. And they'll make you wait for the active which will have every feature they took out. I don't have time to wait for all of that shit.

Prices for the S6 & Edge are on the T-mobile austria site. Don´t know if i´m late.

These Prices are with 29.99€, 24 months contracts.

S6: 32GB - 432€, 64GB - 576€, 128GB - 648€

Edge: 32GB - 600€, 64GB - 696€, 128GB - 768€

lol.

So for the people saying 'no one cares about SD cards', are you ok with paying 144 Euro / $160 for an extra 32GB when a 32GB SD card can be picked up for 15 euro / $17?

was it in the S5 or just S5 Active?

Everyone who doesn't like the sd option purchases their phones off contract for the full price. It won't matter to them anyway lol.

God no lol.

Prices for the extra storage are crazy. Also inconsistent. Extra? 32GB? 144€. Extra 64GB? 72€.

Ridiculous, if the difference would be like 30€, i´d be somewhat fine, but this is absurd.

I don't see your point then.

The regular S5 is waterproof as well.

You don't understand what I'm saying. I'm saying people who didn't buy the S5 in the first place when it was waterproof are complaining that the S6 doesn't have the feature. It's like if I went to an iPhone thread and said "LOL NOT WATERPROOF".

So about a $150 markup for a curved display. Jesus.

It really is unbelievable how some people in this thread are so unable to comprehend usage patterns different from their own.

No, some people just don't except that their usage patterns are not normal. It's stupid to get mad when Samsung builds a phone that appeals and works fine for 90% of people just because it's now missing features that the 10% wanted.

Might as well complain about the aux jack moving to the bottom because the phone cradle in your car doesn't have an opening on the bottom.

Learn to be more adaptive instead of whining about everything. Adjust your lifestyle or say "this isn't the phone for me" and move on. Really no need to 20 pages of "No SD card= no buy from me"

So because I haven't owned a waterproof phone I can't complain that this phone isn't waterproof now that I'm looking to upgrade? Your iPhone example is flawed because there isn't a precedent of waterproofing their phones at any point.

I bought an S5 in the first place, because it was waterproof.
I'm complaining that the S6 isn't waterproof.

Dude doesn't even make any sense, just let him be.

Apparently so. I give up on that.

I'm posting about the things that matter to me.
I never once claimed it was "normal" or "what other people did."

You can complain about it that's fine. You can say hey no waterproof. Oh well I'm not buying it, but you're making a huge deal out of it. You're not buying it. We get it. Move on.

No.... that's different.

Because Samsung released a flagship waterproof phone in the past.

Where as Apple haven't.

Look at consoles and backwards compatibility. It's the same thing there. Microsoft never had Backwards compatibility as far as I'm aware (I know it did a bit but lets pretend it didn't for this example) where as Nintendo always have. Imagine if Nintendo removed it in the Wii U when they launched it. Some people would be upset. Not all, but some. Where as if MS didn't have BC then no reason to complain because they never did have it. (Ignoring that they did haha)

It's a different example but same concept.

Which is fine, but also based on their past, they also make the Active Galaxy so it's not like there won't be a model in the future that may still have it. It's fucking Samsung, they release 100 phones a year. There will most likely be a waterproof version. Just stop complaining.

Removing the feature of added storage is a huge failure on Samsung's part. People want more, not less. They may very well offer handsets with high-capacity storage but, if you're like me and download a lot of music and films, you'll want the extra space. And the ability to keep all your movies and music seperate from the phones internal storage is nice, as it helps keep things tidy. Why Samsung removed that feature, as well as replaceable batteries, I will never know.

With that said, the screen on the Edge model is beautiful. If I do go for either of these, it'll definitely be the edge. Although for me to buy this, they really need external memory, replaceable batteries and vanilla Lollipop - none of which I can see happening. So my next phone will be a Nexus or LG.

Um, Nexus will not have expandable memory or removable battery and LG most certainly won't have stock android. hell I will go out on a limb and say no phone released this year in the high end market will have all 3.

What, lol?

Anyway, I'm interested in what the reaction would be if they did the same plastic housing again but retaining the SD card slot and removable battery. I'd think the same amount of people might complain, except that the people themselves may have shifted a bit. It's the hard deal of making comprises, and I still agree that the choice sucks. But the phone does look moderatly good and the specs are just amazing.

I'd still be complaining that it wasn't waterproof :þ

In the end, Samsung markets to the mass consumer and alot of them as far as I know barely ever buy SD cards more than like 16GB. Hell some don't even know you can expand it. I would like the SD slot, but at least I can get a 64GB one.

My only hope after seeing all of this stuff (no microSD, battery, waterproof, prices) is the G4. Please save me LG. I'm in desperate need of an upgrade and Samsung no long wants my monies based on their shit ideas.
