I mean. If you're going to upgrade your iPhone to a wannabe iPhone then you might as well just get the iPhone 6.

If you're upgrading to an Android phone then there are far better options out there.

That's just it: There aren't "far" better options, only a series of options that might be better in one aspect but are sorely lacking in others.

It's too bad Samsung doesn't understand this.

Also, this. I bet someone is going to chime in and say "My LG/HTC Choca Moca Frappe Droid is great."

Samsung was the leader of Android and they threw it away by trying to emulate Apple.

Do you use those as primary storage or do you use those to get files from one place to another?

There are phones out there that are better in multiple aspects though.

For instance, my current phone, the Xperia Z2, has a much larger battery capacity, has expandable storage and is waterproof and that's a device that's almost a year old.

No thank you. iPhone 6 is an overpriced trash with a terrible spec.

April can't come soon enough!

Huh? Of course the latter but it's an expansion to additional memory like an external hard drive is.

That's the same as what Micro SD does on phones. Micro SD has never been the primary storage for phones, it's an expansion.

iPhone 6 spec is available everywhere. It's not really that hard to look that up and compare it to other flagship phones.

Spec doesn't really matter on iPhone tbh as it's only iPhones that run iOS. At the end of the day the hardware that Apple use for iPhone is good enough for iOS (and optimised well) so the iPhone performance can be as good as top end Android phones.

The edge looks amazing. I can't believe that after my S3, which has served me very well to this date, I'm going to get another Samsung galaxy. The edge will be mine!

If you actually did this you'd find the iPhone 6 to be comparable in performance to any of the phones released from September onward. I mean to read say anandtech's iPhone 6 review and proceed to call it a phone with "terrible" specs is factually incorrect.

Specs shouldn't define the experience of using a phone. The spec-race that Android manufacturers are forced into is a terrible thing. One good example is how everybody "needs" to have a Quad-HD screen now even though the benefits of them aren't proven in relation to battery life reduction.

Not to mention the iPhone 6 is a pretty high-end device. I'd say the only thing really holding it down is the 1GB of RAM, but a lot of elements into it (Camera and CPU) are top-notch.

This is generally true, but the lack of RAM on iOS devices is a major reason I stopped using them. I hated the refreshing on tabs constantly, and the lag in switching apps. Though, I use a Nokia Icon, so whatever.

Welp... I thought the lack of battery replacement would be the worst thing...
An easily breakable, slippery glass back... No Micro SD Card....

Samsung have lost the plot.

Meh. I consider my laptop my phone's "external hard drive". Just like my laptop's external hard drive has all the stuff I don't need right away.

Sure, it'd be nice to upgrade my phone's internal storage, but it doesn't seem to be in the cards. Adding an SD card is a sloppy way of doing it anyway, because most people are comfortable with a single, no-fuss, unified pool of storage. I'd rather just replace the entire storage. :/

Oh true, RAM can be an issue.

Even my 3GB RAM phone struggles to watch all those
porn
videos as well as apps and stuff I have open at the same time.

I honestly found myself saying the other day that my next phone will have 4GB RAM... even my laptop doesn't have 4GB RAM.

S6 32GB - €699
S6 64GB - €799
S6 128GB - €899

S6 Edge 32GB - €849
S6 Edge 64GB - €949
S6 Edge 128GB - €1049

Official euro pricing from Samsung

So using a direct conversion from euro to $ we have $780 for 32GB S6 and $950 for 32GB S6 Edge. Bear in mind direct conversion will obviously not be the real price in official USA store.
(Prices are off contract)

Holy fucking shit.

Samsung wow, youve gone loco

Guys, this is Samsung. They will probably have 5 other variants of the S6 out this year, including a waterproof one with removable battery and storage.

I still remember android/samsung fanboys touting the removable batteries and sd card for why android is better than iphone, and painting several scenarios to justify these 2 "features".

"What if your phone batteries malfunction now you have to send in your whole phone to repair it and you have to wait for days to get it back!!"

"Apple is greedy because they are forcing us to upgrade to an even much more expensive phone if we want more storage!! When we can easily switch to a bigger size cheap micro sd card on android!"

Good time.

I'd imagine the S6 will still be the better choice for it's increased software features, far superior screen (in both size, pixel density and image accuracy), superior cameras (front and back), superior video recording, better overall specs (ram, cpu etc) and build quality (I doubt this phone will bend). I also wouldn't be surprised if the speaker is louder/better, and if the battery life is better too.

I am still pissed off about the lack of micro-sd card. If the battery life is solid, the removable battery will be less of an issue, it certainly charges fast, and the wireless charging helps.

Apple fans also made fun of Android phones being too big. What's your point?

Lack of Ram on the 6 and 6 Plus is inexcusable.

Flunking lol

Still hanging on to my Galaxy Nexus, but it's gotten painfully slow in the past year. Factory reset doesn't even help, so I don't know of the flash memory degraded or what. Looks like I'll be getting the S6.

However, it does to me. 8MP camera is just simply not good enough for me anymore. Not to mention the ridiculous amount of ram and poor resolution screen. Last time I used my father's Note 4, I was blown away by how much I was missing out on. Was surprised by how much Samsung improved on screen quality and performance since my last Samsung Galaxy S3.

iPhone 6 isn't a high-end device overall. Only the CPU and the design of the device that tricks you to think that it is. The rest is very mediocre.

Factually it is correct besides the CPU.

Thought so too until I realized iPhone is fucking terrible at multi-tasking. Can't multi-task without a single app getting refreshed and losing all texts i've typed up before I switch to another app.

Flunking lol

I thought these prices were actually pretty good at least in weighing my next phone options.

S6 32GB - €699
iPhone 6+ 64GB - 868,90€(in Finland)

Now i compare it with 6+ 64GB model, because normal ip6 is smaller than gs6 and does not have OIS. 64GB is the cheapest sufficient iPhone model(16GB is not enough and i don't give bonus points for having more than 32GB storage as i don't think i'm going to need more).

Never thought i would consider Samsung phone again, but the reveal was promising.. I'll wait for the reviews to confirm whether the camera is top notch and if the software has improved enough.

Note 4 is the best phone out right now.

I agree with all of this, iPhone 6 is mad disappointing after trying out an Android phone with a 1080p+ screen and 2-3gb of ram.

Whats the best android phone currently on the market?

I'm currently using a Oneplus One and it's pretty great (especially given the price), but it's a tad too big at 5.5" and doesn't quite have a premium feel. Best is quite subjective, all of them have pros and cons. It really depends on what you're looking for in a phone.

No SD card slot is a pretty shitty removal if you ask me, I can deal with the non removable battery if it actually has good performance and does charge quickly, especially with wireless charging being built in I can be ok with it.

However I have a Sony Z1, the concept that I can just pop it into a new HTC/LG/Sony and I'm on my way is pretty nice.

It makes me feel like the new Samsung isn't just missing a feature, but it's become inconvenient.

I know I'm going to sound elitist as fuck, but as someone who was quite annoyed with the S5 when it was first revealed (I wanted a more premium designed phone dammit), and switched to several other phones for several days (14 day money back and replacement policy ftw) before ending up settling with the S5 (lol), this is one advantage that cannot be stated enough. Simply put, AMOLED is infinitely superior to all LCD panels on other phones. The black level and contrast performance is just unbelievable really, and to me makes a huge difference to overall media consumption and viewing, especially in dark viewing conditions, where blacks on other devices basically look dark grey. The AMOLED panels on these new devices also no longer have the issues they used to have in older devices, such as a lack of brightness, inaccurate whites, or poorer pixel matrix tech.

It's sort of like comparing my Panasonic VT65 or Pioneer Kuro plasma screens with that of my Macbook Pro Retina or older Sony LCD TV display, the latter just lack the contrast punch and depth, and as a result looks considerably worse. I am dumbfounded that so many sites continue to praise the shit out of the screens on some of these other devices (mobile phones, tablets and laptops alike), because honestly LCD tech, even IPS, still leaves a lot to be desired. And for those worried about saturated colours, or inaccurate levels, Samsung has you covered there as well, with one of the different screen modes that will inevitably be closer to the 6500k standard than even Apple's offerings, but as per usual, many outlets will probably ignore this and harp on with the "over saturated colours and poor white balance" narrative.

People are extremely critical of the removal of these things. I don't care about the battery too much, but an SD card slot is absolutely essential for me and is a true deal breaker.

The sides look way too much like an iPhone 6, laughably so.

My White Note 4 is beautiful in comparison.

Have to say though that the S6 Edge looks sexy.
