Rock Band 4 announced for PS4 and Xbox One

You know, I think I'll be okay without all my DLC.
I had too many songs, wouldn't be able to play them all anyway. Back when I was really into the game I tried to get all the songs, but it got costly and I stopped. I attempted to keep up with the expiring songs but I couldn't...

Still, I'm sure RB4 on PS4 will still be a lot of fun.
 
Holy shit!! I have 1000+ DLC for Rock Band 3 and all their previous titles. Can't wait to transfer everything over and see what the next gen of Rock Band is gonna be like. I have been waiting for this annoucement for years! So glad it's finally happening.

Just that it's being released this year is simply amazing!

This is both awesome and terrible, as it complicates my plans to eventually buy a PS4 some time down the road. I haven't jumped in on current gen yet due to lack of time and funds (and game interest, honestly), but I've been quietly assuming a decent ps4 library due to PS+. But then this happens ... And I look at my 360, for which I've spent $300+ on DLC and still have my perfectly functioning fender bass, RB2 wireless drums and RB1 strat (such a rarity!).

This will likely force my hand to go Xbone instead. Hmm.

Still, the best kind of problems to face! Rock Band is easily my game of the generation, and it will rise again. So fucking pumped!!!!

Expanded the game? Sure , in " incredible ways " ehh, I think you're reaching there . that's like saying Madden 15 expanded from Madden 14 in incredible ways.

Sorry , I just don't see a reason why this exists.

No way.

If Rock Band 3 were Madden, going from Rock Band 2 to Rock Band 3 would have been like adding a 90%-there actual football playing mode.

rock band 3 added pro drums, pro guitar, keyboard support it was a huge update to the franchise

Me too, Harmonix released plenty of games too (when you include spin-offs) but at least they innovated with the main games in their series, released a tonne of extra songs and made everything as backwards compatible as possible.

Rock Band 3 is the most complete game in the genre.

Very smart movie by Harmonix regarding using old instruments and dlc. And they will probably never do a 360>PS4 license transfer guys. They would have to remove the DLC license from your Xbox Live account to move it to PSN, that would be a license and cross system nightmare. There is no benefit for any parties in this respect.

But now only PS4.

I don't like the RB guitars, only like my GH Metallica guitar.

All my friends are on PS4 only now.


No clue what to do.
 
FUCK......please allow cross platform dlc transfer lol. All my songs are on the damn xbox!!!!! If not, welp I know what system I'm choosing.
 
Rock Band was the best multi player experience last generation. It's a shame the market collapsed. I hope this is successful.
 
Awesome awesome news. Very excited that it exists and even more excited that our old DLC works. This was half of the reason why I bought an Xbox One just in case this was announced as I played on a 360 previously.

Let's be real, they put out PSP's best game.
 
There were a lot of Rock Band games, but they definitely didn't milk it as much as Guitar Hero did. The main releases made solid, worthy improvements to the formula. I just don't see where it goes from here.
 
Maybe Harmonix will add a subscription deal, giving us full access to the whole Library by paying a monthly or yearly fee. It would fix the problem for all the people stuck with Xbox DLC and only have a PS4 or vice versa.

I almost bought a eletric drums to replace my RB 2 set. I'm glad I didn't since now I can wait and see if the new entry will work with more options of drums.
 
I had hundreds of songs on 360 but sadly I now am a proud ps4 owner. Fortunately for Harmonix RB is my favorite game ever so I will gladly rebuy all my favorite songs.
 
Surprised I'm one of the few who won't be returning. Got so burned out last gen I think I need another 10 years at least before I even consider a RB type title again.
 
Wow....just looked at some of the DLC for the old Rockband games that I didn't even know existed. A shit ton of Pantera and Black Keys! Hopefully we can purchase all the old DLC through the new game. I really don't want to hook my 360 up to purchase songs that I will be playing on my XB1.
 
So there's no way to export RB2 songs anymore? The HMX site said the offer is expired. Didn't know if I could pick up a cheap copy and use the code.

I have both PS4 and Xbox one but I'm still really bummed there is no cross platform transfer. All my friends I played RB with online with on 360 all moved to PS4.
 
Guess I'm buying an Xbox One then. Not going to rebuy all those songs again, though I may get the new peripherals since my current ones are all in storage at my mom's house.
