It's the new standard USB type port going forward. It'll be on everything (not just apple stuff). A little annoying now as we transition over but it will be nice once everything uses the same fast reversible cord.
It'll eventually replace the Air line, most likely. Just like the rMBP slowly replaced the old ones.

Same and it's a beast. Not planning on replacing it any time soon, though I wish I could throw that new trackpad in it!
Where are the rest of the ports? Of course Apple had to do something but c'mon. That resolution seems off for some odd reason because 1440 by 2560 is what I'm used to. However, this macbook eliminates the ripoff that was the standard MBA.
The smaller logic board hopefully means that future retina MacBooks are upgradeable.
This device has to cost at least $1400 maybe $1600, in my opinion.

Also, with all of this "no ports" vision they should have several adaptors into one.
I agree that a portable doesn't need a bunch of ports but having to have 3 or 4 adaptors is not my idea of fun.
Again, hopefully Apple knows this when it comes to the Pro model.

They're doing that on purpose to get people to look at their watches, only to realize they don't already own a watch and thus are primed to have a new watch marketed to them.
