People were smirking about Gruber yesterday, saying how out of step he was and that he just didn't understand the Watch industry. Yep, it's $10k.

Gruber understands the watch industry, most tech people don't. That's what was bizarre about people saying he was off his rocker. Luxury products don't make sense like regular tech commodities.

$10k for a watch is one thing, but $10k for a watch that will inevitably have a second generation edition is another.

The WATCH Edition is not targeting the average person who strolls into an Apple Store. It will be exclusive and sold at high end retailers. Those who can afford it won't even think about the price.

Why are people being deterred by the price of the highest-end model? Shouldn't the low-end price be the determining factor for affordability?

let this sink in

Everyone saying OMG 10,000 DOLLARS have never looked at watch prices from some of the best manufacturers.

I'm not saying that $10k is out of price range for expensive watches. It isn't. It's absurd for a first gen electronic product that will likely be updated and expanded upon in future iterations leaving your device eventually abandoned and in the dust. For $10k.

For the price of a damn near full spec mac pro you too can own a gold watch.

That's like....nothing in the watch world. ROFL

Really?

For all of the fanboys cooking at the moment, remember that your favorite Android OEM has wet dreams about being able to sell a watch for 10K. Bruh, that steel iwatch is calling my name but that's rent money. Plus, it's a gen 1 Apple product so it's time to save for Gen 2.
