Why not trade that pick for Boldin? Maybe they didn't want an overrated malcontent who is going to demand a 10 million dollar/year contract?

edit: I should clarify, he's overrated in that he is looked at as an elite receiver. I think he's solid to very good, but doesn't deserve nearly the amount of money he's demanding. He's not a bad player, and if it weren't for his ridiculous contract demands he would be worth a second round pick in trade. I wouldn't give up a first for him even if he were asking for less though.

Well you might have that opinion but to me Boldin is clearly a #1 WR in this league. He was so with the Cards even before Fitz was drafted.

Malcontent? He had that blowup in the NFC Champ game but other than that nothing. And by all accounts he is a locker room leader.

Even if he was a Plax or TO, which he obviously isnt, would you not trade for a guy who makes the offense dangerous over a rookie who might or might not be bust? I mean there is no given with the rookie. Boldin at the least is a pro bowl level WR who automatically makes the Eagles WR corps 10 times better. They dont need another burner to stretch the field. Boldin is strong, physical, and could work the middle.

This pick is a joke.

Ah, don't know if I'm happy with the RB choice. We definitely need run game work, but our line was terrible this past year two. I'm thinking they're thinking they can wait a round before getting some D in.

Not sure exactly, but they gave up a 2nd and a third and got back a third.

From the Urinal:
Packers send their lone second-round pick (41st) and both third-round picks (73 and 83) to New England for the 26th overall pick and a fifth-rounder (162).

High price tag, but I love getting Matthews.

I would rather get a DT but I'll trust Polian's judgment on the talent because I don't watch college football. Must think they can get one later. Manning will be fine with the receivers he has, the RB will hopefully help the terrible running game although it seemed more like an offensive line problem last season.

Yeah, I was wrong. It does seem like a high price tag, but you're right, Matthews is good.

Gotta go with Rey. He is the best player on the board.

Jesus, his stock has dropped. If Parcells and Belichick are passing on him, then I'm not sure about his talent (previously, I was clamoring for him).

Maybe Maualaga is comparable to Leonard Peters talent-wise?

Pierce is slow, and won't get any better.

and isn't the knock on rey that hes slow mentally? I mean one of these USC lbs has to turn into a bust and im going to guess its the one parcells and bellicheck passed on.
