Bloodborne launch trailer

bbhuntbegin5.gif

This is ridiculously awesome.

Out of all the souls games, I've only played Dark Souls II, and despite putting dozens of hours into it, never beat it (finals week came along, and then summer, and I just got caught up with other games and life activities).

Blood borne looks fucking awesome, but I'm worried I'm going to be in way over my head having only DS2 experience (since everyone keeps saying how this is a spiritual successor to Demon's Souls).

Do you guys think I'll be alright? I really am hoping the answer is yes

Amazon finally credited me for trading in my old 3DS. I have now officially pre-ordered the game. I'm so glad the game is releasing 12 ET. Will be up all night getting wrecked.

Edit:

You'll be fine.

Just dive in, pace yourself and get help online as you need it. Maybe even buy that killer looking guide.

I could never get into demon or dark souls. I'll admit that the hardcore nature of the gameplay frustrated me, I hated dying that much. I also didnt like how it seemed like the systems weren't explained properly. However, with all of that being said I am excited for bloodborne. I feel like if I buy it on day one, and stick with the community I might come to appreciate this kind of game

Saw trailer. Bought on PSN. Souls virgin; don't know what I'm getting myself into. But I'm hyped.

Guys, you will be fine. It will take some getting used to the controls as they are differnt than the souls series, but as long as you are preapared to take an initial spanking, learn the controls, learn some strategies, there will be no need to "give up" or think that this style of game isnt for you.....come on who doestn like kicking the ass of a boss/creature/ that onece kicked yours, but now you are the master!?

Dont hesitate to come back the community for information or even a summon buddy or two.

My main advice for new Souls player is to simply not underestimate the game. Bloodborne, like previous games, will require patience, observation, adaptation, and resourcefulness. Take it seriously and you'll eventually achieve victory. It isn't overly difficult - you just have to try.

The Souls games are not frustating hard. They are just designed to kill you with traps and ambushes all the time, but once you die you learn something new, so next time you alredy know that in that place thers a trap or in that corner an ambush, so you get prepared and dont die again... untill u get to the next trap/ambush :D

Is the bosses that will give a good fight, if you go alone you will die as many times it takes for you to know the boss moves, but with other player in co-op any boss is easy to beat. But the sense of acomplishment is much greater when you manage to kill one boss solo.

Learning bosses seems like it'll be tougher without a shield, usually I put up the shield and back up and strafe so I can get a look at what the boss can do.

It looks like there is a lot of evasion and overall better movement options in this game compared to its predecessors. Thinking back, I only used a shield for stat boosts, projectile protection, or to block random enemies hiding behind doors.

They were terrible against bosses.
Like Capra demon who would waste your stamina with one attack if you block him, and then get stunned by dogs

I've been on a media blackout for a long while about Bloodborne.

I'm wondering one thing though: does this have as much RPG elements as Dark Souls? I've read stuff like there are very few weapons, etc. Does this still have a level up and character build system? No spells right?

There's stats to upgrade, loot to find, and many weapons and armor sets to use.

Awesome. All that stuff was so well done in DS, I'm glad they're bringing it back.

I love where this is going, the setting, visuals, etc. are really promising for a very special experience.

My only worry is that I used to cower away behind a shield and huge armor in past DS games. Now I'll have to face up to all the nightmares the game'll throw at us O_O.

I didn't even die that often in DS2, despite my poor action game skills. I guess that'll change here =p

From the little I've seen that's what I was thinking too, I can't wait to see how it all comes together.

Some quick spoiler free impressions from the spoiler thread. I can't…

Some guy got the game early and here is what he thinks.

Impressions so far:
I got the game tonight.
It's something else so far. The shimmering from the IGN clips is pretty much absent. The graphics are phenomenal, and I'm a primarily PC gamer, too.
So far the game is incredible.
Dark Souls is my favorite game of all time, and so far this tops it in every way.
Just wanted to let you know :-)

^ These impressions!! They are all that i want to hear but at the same time they are only making the wait harder..

Thanks for posting them here Viveks.

Personally i'm staying the fuck away from the spoiler thread so it's much appreciated to have non spoiler stuff like this posted here.

Have not been this hyped for a game in a long time.

Got a 6-day easter break coming up pretty much a few days after launch so I am going to be living and breathing Bloodborne

Fucking glorious, bring the pain.

If the Souls community overwhelmingly come to consider this the best Souls game, it will sell so many PS4s. I imagine there are many fans out there hoping it won't be the best, so they can save their money and return to DS2 with Scholar of the First Sin.

Sony knew what they were doing with this game.

I've only played Demon's Souls and Dark Souls, but isn't Dark Souls II a fairly weak entry? That's seems to be the consensus among core fans - at least from where I'm sitting.

Yes, but it's still what most Souls fans are playing now I think. And Scholar of the First Sin will make many players return.

Weakest entry of the three games. But as others have said, it's not really a weak game if you compare it to everything else. Think of it this way:

Demon's Souls A+
Dark Souls A (or A+)
Dark Souls 2 B (when in a Souls vacuum. Otherwise: A-).

Yes, but it's still what most Souls fans are playing now I think. And Scholar of the First Sin will make many players return.

It won't have much of an effect on PC players. Hell, it won't have much of an effect on those who purchased Bloodborne either. At least not right away.

just started seeing the commercial for this on tv. i can't wait. i opted out of the order so i've been itching for a new ps4 game. and i've always watched them played but never had the chance to play any of the dark souls games myself. might as well start with this one.

So i broke down and pre-ordered the us one on the PSN with my dummy account. it's cheaper and comes out three day earlier than the UK.

I've only ever played Dark Souls 2. Bought it a month after release, enjoyed it, but hit a wall with difficulty. The lack of any recent releases, and my hype for Bloodborne made me go back. Restarted with a new character, beat the game and am going through it in NG+ and enjoying it quite a bit.

I understand that DS2 is considered the weakest out of the 3 souls games, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. I am so hyped for this right now, I cannot wait and next week is a crazy work week for me too, ugh.
