From a pure technical perspective, they are remastering the wrong games.
Underwelming announcement. :/
This fucking gen man. Who needs new games?
Well, shinobi reedemed! Half of bit.
It's already happening.
Why do you think we're getting less games? We just lost half of the game industry last generation due to chasing the AAA white whale.
Look at the Wipeout team? Look at Evolution being downsized. It's already happening.
probably a shitty uprezzed port like most of the remasters we have been getting....
will rent for the easy ass platinum.
Don't like remasters? Don't buy them. This fucking gen man. Who needs new games?
I feel really sorry for all of those people that hate remasters being forced to buy remasters. It really does suck, and I'm so sorry.
I mean, I get it! I know how cheap it is to develop games on next generation hardware, so there's no need to try and recoup those investment costs by creating simple ports/remasters of previously successful IPs for a quick infusion of profit that can do nothing but help the production of next generation IPs both old and new.
But yeah, I also hate being forced to buy video games I don't want. I wish I could just save my money and only buy the games that interest me, and ignore the ones that don't, but that's just how it is, I guess. So obnoxious.
People crying about yet another remaster and calling it the remaster generation should try and list the games that have actually been remastered this generation until now, because there's not nearly as many as you seem to believe.
I like remasters but who hasn't played this at this point? Unless they're gonna port the entire series seems like a waste. I just don't see a market for this one. Maybe I'm just biased and burnt out do to replaying threw the entire series off and on since beginning of the year.
FF Type-0

Indeed, despite some issues that have since been resolved, Halo took the right approach.
These single remasters / definitive editions are getting far too numerous for my tastes, especially on PS4.
I really don't mind remasters but I wonder if they could have saved themselves some time by just figuring out backwards compatibility.
The Last of Us
Tomb Raider
Sleeping Dogs
Halo 1-4
FF Type-0
Saints Row 4
GTAV
Darksiders 2
DmC
DMC4
Tearaway
Now God of War 3
Surely I am forgetting some.

well there was like 80 million ps3s sold and 75 million 360s, and the game sold a few million, so it seems reasonable that
A. not everyone who had a 360 also had a ps3
B. Not everyone who had a ps3 bought god of war 3
and of course if you just played 6 god of war games in 3 months you're probably burnt out and biased
If Sony are in the mood for remastering one game out of a series then they should do Killzone 2. I'd be there day one, as I probably will be for this, GoW 3 is my favourite one.
what did Shinobi say?
http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=814792Not very exciting but GOW Ascension's coming to PS4.
Do we expect AF?

It already looked stunning, so I'm sure this will be amazing in terms of graphics. I just don't remember having any fun with it.
Didn't play God of War 2, I see.
Tearaway is a remake, not a remaster. There's no way you can straight port that game to the PS4 without changing the core mechanics of the game. Also, MM has already confirmed that Tearaway Unfolded will have 50% more content than Tearaway.
This better be $30 or less
what did Shinobi say?
Wait you cannot be serious, no ones forcing anything get a gripI feel really sorry for all of those people that hate remasters being forced to buy remasters. It really does suck, and I'm so sorry.

Part of me is a little tired of remasters.
The other part of me would buy a remastered Uncharted collection tomorrow.
Basically, but again, that's been resolved now.Heh, "some issues"
Right idea, not enough dev time.
This fucking gen man. Who needs new games?
I've said much the same elsewhere.
That's why I have a problem with remasters, really. Not because of what they are in themselves - I've no objection to them in themselves - but because they're touted as necessary to prop up the AAA arms race, which I think has reached a point where it's poisonous to the industry.
Seriously Killzone2, Demon Souls, Uncharted 1, MGS4 etc.. are all better candidates but instead they take a game with amazing performance and remaster it.
Metro Redux, Borderlands, Grim Fandango, and Resident Evil HD as well. The Last of Us

Last generation you would get a few games in a remaster. Now you get a single game, but will still pay full (or close) price for it. Progress.
