BLOODBORNE Spoiler Thread (read OP)

Oh neat. Hope he has dialogue this time. Also strange:
If you can kill him on the bridge, does that mean no boss fight later on?

That's what I was wondering, too. Maybe another enemy takes his place? I'd hope that the
boss fight doesn't just continue as normal, though.
That'd be a bit of a let down.

Is
NG+
not unlocked until Tuesday? I would think someone would have it by now.

Also:

When talking about builds does endurance and vitality not come into play? Would someone not opt for a Skill/Endurance build or do builds only refer to: Str, Arcane, Skill and Bloodtinge?

Endurance and vitality levelling are a given in these games. What will differ will be which of the "attack" stats people choose to level depending on what weapon they use.

The closer it gets the more excited i get from the prospect of chalice dungeons. It seems to have mostly different assets than the main game thus far.

Has anyone playing/watching the streams figured out concretely what the arcane stat is really good for yet? I've glanced around the wiki and some weapon spoilers but haven't seen anything that looks like it scales with arcane enough for that to be a stat worth investing in.

I get that it increases molotov damage but that doesn't seem good enough to be worth investing levels into. Basically I'm wondering if someone were to make arcane their highest stat... what would that build even be?

From what I've seen in the streams, it seems like there are fewer weapons overall but they can be upgraded over time. Is that correct? I really dig it if true. It'll allow me to customize my playstyle to my favored weapon more and makes grinding far less necessary.

I'm terribly sorry for what just happened Mendrox... I really am :( It all just happened so fast (with the whole PS+ thing) and I feel so shit about it now...

At the same time, I got so, SO fucking excited there for a minute. I thought I was just about to play some Bloodborne ;_; I was shaking god damn it

People have it, stats are on the wiki. How to get it:
Kill the last boss in NG, and you'll have it for the start of NG+, which is why people are saying it's a NG+ weapon when it really isn't.

As for builds, I think everyone would include Endurance & Vitality into consideration of their builds. They go by other stats as that determines what weapons you would use to classify as a *STAT* Build.

From interview with Miyazaki

http://blog.eu.playstation.com/2015/03/20/conversation-bloodborne-creator-hidetaka-miyazaki/

"There’s been a little consternation among Souls fans on the web at the suggestion that Bloodborne won’t feature quite so many weapons as in the Souls games. Can you clarify exactly how the weapon system works in Bloodborne?

Hidetaka Miyazaki: In terms of how many physical weapons there are, the amount is less than in a Souls game, but that’s to some extent a decision made due to the game design.

The weapons transform – so one weapon will have various uses and strategies that you can implement. You can also customise your weapon with Blood Gems. There are different types and you can slot in up to three at a time. One gem might have you use less stamina per swing, for example.

You can have many different combinations – so actually the amount of weapons in Souls is absorbed in Bloodborne by this customisation element and how someone can tailor a weapon to how they want to use it. In a way, the variety is still there, but it’s absorbed down on a customisation level, rather than in the quantity of actual weapons, much more than in Souls."

Do we know if it's multiple dungeons or just one that has randomly generated sections?

You get 3 chalices throughout your playthrough. You also receive items that can alter your chalice when you create the dungeon. Each dungeon has multiple levels, with a boss at the end of each level. I believe you can have 5 different generated dungeons at a time before overriding (3 your own, 2 from others - unless you can get more chalices in NG+).

This is my thinking right now, I just want to find a good firearm also. It does not look like anyone is using the repeating pistol and I want to know what it looks like

Any build is gonna have points in endurance and vitality, so you wouldn't normally focus on those stats in a build. You could do it, however, and just have stamina for days, but I'm not sure how good of a build it would be.

That's why I would never play games on a plasma. If I did, my FFXIV UI would almost surely be visible at all times.

If you calibrate your plasma correctly, you won't have any issues with game's UI staying on screen.

Otherwise, Dark Souls' UI would be burned in my screen from the hundreds of hours spent playing the game back on PS3.

So... Did anyone else run into a problem opening a saved game?

I played the very opening of the game only, then put my ps4 in wait mode to download the update faster (dunno why that works but it dramatically does.) After the update, I tried to load my file and it says it can't because the game isn't fully installed.

I tried deleting the game and installing again but yeah now I need the update again, so I'm waiting again.

Did anyone else run into something like this?

Sounds good. I like this a lot.

Debating on whether I want my first build to be Strength or Skill. Which is more attractive at the moment? Also, how's the Threaded Cane?

Question about 6 hours in:

Should I be telling all these people to go to Odeon Chapel? Or is there somewhere else I can tell them to go later in the game? What benefit do I get from sending them to Odeon?

They tried to setup shareplay for Yoshi but it didn't work
And I pretty much made Mendrox lose $15 (he bought PS+ on an alternative account).

Ah thanks for people clearing up stats. I wonder what would be the preferred point distribution, 1 vitality, 1 endurance, 2 str/skill/arcane/bloodtinge, 2/str/skill/arcane/bloodtinge

Does anyone know if you can throw the
rock/fast ass possibly ninja stars
that the
Crow Hunter
used against you in your fight against him. That shit was so fast. It wasn't the pebble you can throw in the game.

If this is an option for a firearm I will be in heaven.

Basically, I asked the host if he could share play Bloodborne with me. We invited each other (and paused the stream for 600 viewers) and then the host bough $15 worth of PS+ on his alternative account for me to share play.

Turns out, it didn't work anyway.

Because of what ? Servers not up ? What kind of error message did you get? Hard to believe Sony would not allow shareplay on 1st party games

Do you know why it didn't work? Why did Mendrox need to buy PS+ on an alternative account for you to shareplay?

edit:
Any tips for the first boss? Can you parry it or anything? Or am I just going to have to out endure him?

That's the Cleric Beast, right? If you do enough damage to its head, you'll stun it, allowing you to do a visceral attack. Alternatively, if you throw an oil casket then a molotov cocktail at it, it'll explode and do a huge amount of damage.

Basically it had to do with my region or something. The error message stated something about not being able to share play because of the restrictions of my country.

I'm sure it had to do with the fact that he's not playing BB on his main account right now (up until launch).

i hope strength doesn't suck, with the speed of this game and the even more importance on endurance without having shields i feel like slower/str weapons will suffer. i'm sure they balanced it somehow....i hope

My current strength build is using the hammer quite swimmingly. Oddly I find a strength build more defensive. You can hang back and time your attacks for massive damage rather than in your face assault that is only picking away at the enemy with other builds. In your face attacking is often countered and your then bombarded by the enemy. Strength builds seem to slow the game down.

what about this 'hit the enemy back quickly to regain some health' mechanic? i feel like that would strongly favor quick skill builds vs slow strikes for obv reason of having much more swings available to hit back in that allotted time? seems like it would allow quick builds a huge advantage where they wouldn't need to use health items as much

^I'd also like to know this, if anyone has info.

At the other end of the bridge, there should be an NPC that helps you fight the wolves off.
wait, is he hidden or something? I saw a lot of people not finding anyone there and fighting the wolves alone.

Well if your going to do it, then do it before it becomes night and they won't respond to your knocks. One streamer went back and brought in a woman who gives you blood for bringing her there. So I would go back and talk to the people in the houses before the Chapel just in case. The problem is someone said that the red guy also kills the NPC's you bring there, but we don't know if that's true or not.

I'm not so sure anymore... He was there in the alpha and I swear I've heard people say he's there in the full game, but since I don't have the game yet I can't check for myself. Maybe he's a summon in the retail game?

Ugh I'm missing so much.

So Father Gascgione is
around as an NPC before you fight him? Where was that?

Also,
where are the NPCs I'm supposed to send to Odeon? I just got to the Cathedral Districs and only found one old lady. Are there more ahead of me?

Yeah, adding Text/Pictures would have been a great way of making those loading screens better.

Sorry if this has been asked before, what was the Blood stat for?
