As soon as I discovered this dub I downloaded all the episode immediately and showed it during a movie night. We laughed our asses off.
If people want a similar dub, I recommend The Special Duty Combat Unit Shinesman. I have a tradition to watch it every year with some friends.

My understanding is that they never got the actual script translated, so they were told to wing it with the dub with whatever they thought the anime was about, so it's basically its own abridged series. One of these days, I need to check the series out.
Funimation was told "ADD EVEN MORE SWEAR WORDS". I kid you not, there's over 350 times where the word or a variation of the word "fuck" is spoken.

Samurai Pizza Cats was by far one of my favorite shows as a kid and even more now as an adult. There are some great moments like in the Christmas episode:

There are a good amount of small one liners and contextual jokes that are missing even from the first couple of episodes i just watched. My bro who isn't really big on anime is hooked as well. Good way to make a otherwise boring and stale topic of fighting monsters in a high school funny and different from the normal anime tropes.
Actually, to add on to that Samurai Pizza Cats intro, I think the lyrics "As soon as someone finds the script, we might begin the show" is a flat-out in-joke of the fact they couldn't get a translated script of the original Japanese version.

Yeah, Discotek Media 'rescued' the ADV license and has Ghost Stories available for purchase again. (Along with Samurai Pizza Cats and a bunch of other older anime and... some... special series like School Days.)

This is basically how the Shin Chan dub got made and it's probably the most funniest shit close to old school Simpsons or Family Guy. The original was an innocent kids show and had too many references to Japanese social issues that we wouldn't get so Funimation was like fuck it let's turn it into an adult comedy, change character's personalities, and reference current topics in America:

I have that intro on my music player and they do say that line.
I love how they make separate releases for sub and dub. Samurai Pizza Cats came out in its original form, just like Monster Rancher (well the subbed set is TBA). I would rather enjoy the original works, but great for people that do want the dub.

ok, the anime in the OP is hilarious. I can tell the real deal was probably mediocre or bad, but it goes to a whole new level with that ridiculously funny dub.
