And with that, it actually moves past The Order in its respective lead up to launch. I wonder if the retail situation holds that true as well, because if so a 400K first month is possible for the US. A 800K debute world wide would be pretty fantastic^^

I'm sure there will be unbalanced/exploitable things if the game. Nothing a patch or two won't be able to fix, but I sort of feel like I missed out by not getting to fight the original super aggressive dinosaur butts or having multiple curses stacked on me with Dark Souls.

400K is way too much for this type of game. DS2 did around 350K for its first month and that was a multiplatform game. I'd be happy if it did around 250K.

The CE is #23 as well. Will be the best selling game this month...on Amazon at least.

There are a few reasons I think this game will sell a lot more than 400k.
1) Lots of marketing. I'm seeing plenty of ads. More than I did for DS2.
2) First great PS4 exclusive. People have been waiting for justification of owning a PS4; here is is.
3) What else is there to play on PS4 right now?
4) It's the biggest release until May.

Game is only 3 spots behind The Order on Amazon's best selling of 2015 list. Will likely blow that out of the water by launch.
I'm to the point to where im thinking over 1,000,000 is highly possible for Bloodborne.

you can wipe your game data (not saves) and give it a try. To play your saved games, you need to patch up though.
The original curse effects aren't an issue now that you're familiar with the game and avoiding curse in the first place. The real treat is the Crystal Ring Shield effects

I have no opinion on what how a game should or shouldn't perform. All I can do is look at how pre sale interest of Bloodborne compares with a game we already know the performance of. And Bloodborne is pacing higher than a game that saw "more than 200K less then 300K" in its opening week. That is all I was trying to convey, as the 400K is a "From would be quite pleased with themselves" personal ceiling of mine. But it is second best selling game (SKU) of the month and only one place behind FF Type 0. Do you really think Type 0 did south of 300K? The only 3D Final Fantasy to do that was Lightning Returns...

It shows up as "file not found," but I actually would really appreciate a retail update! Last one I got in NPD predictions was from February and pre orders were pretty light for Bloodborne and Type 0 then...
World wide? ...possible. By mid April almost certainly. But for the US I think that would be a little too tall of an order...
It wouldn't surprise me tbh. It's a port of a PSP game not a main entry.
As far as Bloodborne goes, it's a somewhat niche title but I expect it to do well in terms of sales.

It's a port of a game THAT WAS NEVER LOCALIZED.
So basically a brand new game for 99% of people out there who didn't import the game.
It sold well I'm sure. Won't be anything mind blowing.

Ok, then^^ I am working under the assumption of a higher debut for Type 0, making my Bloodborne expectation higher. For both our estimates I guess it comes down to how much the FF XV demo was able to generate interest or not...
Awesome! I really appreciate it^^ That would fit with Amazon's "prediction" then. I still think the 8 SKUs of Battlefield Hardline will be total best seller of the month, but boy does Amazon paint a mixed picture for that game's reception when compared to Battlefield 4...
Bloodborne and Type 0 will hopefully be enough to make there respective interest holders happy. I like March being a new home for bigger releases like last year.

This has Sony 1st Party marketing behind it. I've overheard people in my local game stores who have no idea what Souls is that are excited to buy it.
Victorian badass cutting up wolves and monsters with guns and swords is enough of a sale for some. Not to mention the sales from the many posters on GAF like "Never played a Souls game but GAF has got me hyped up to buy this."
The aftershock of the general public then having a hardcore game on their hands is another matter.

I actually got some gamer curtains in the linen closet. Pure black curtains. Put em up over the windows and * heavenly music plays * PITCH BLACK
its a giant signal to the entire house. when those curtains go up, daddy is not to be disturbed.

1. They are only one of many moving pieces so any number they give you will be too "small" to make anything of.
2. They are doing this for free for our own curiosity, so just be happy with what you get.
3. Never put someone in a position were they can either out themselves to their employers, or may cause professional friction for them.
How about ...
it will do better then Bayonetta 2 or Sunset Overdrive

I wanted him to to take a guess on NPD numbers, not anything official from whatever retailer he works for.
But you'll be missing out on the 1080p.
You also missed out on every single boss in the last half of the game being beatable by "standing in place and mashing R1". Not an exaggeration. Literally standing in place and pressing R1.
Iron Flesh, yo. People have nostalgia for zones being broken or harder, but tend to gloss over it being completely and utterly broken with regards to balance.

I hate all of you. You're all assholes and you're contributing to my delinquency. There have been like 6 threads about this damn game and I've been eyeing them a little bit having no intentions of buying this damn game.
I played Demon's Souls and enjoyed it but didn't beat it. I played Dark Souls on the 360, PS3, and PC but I didn't beat it (made it extremely far). I played Dark Souls 2 on PS3 but didn't beat it (didn't make it too far). So I figured I wouldn't beat this one because I suck at these damn games but all these threads and impressions just made me cave (also thanks tax return for burning a hole in my pocket).
I'm hoping this one is a beat easier for me so maybe I can actually finish one of these games for once but now I can't wait for midnight Tuesday. Monday night is going to be long and slow. I have Borderlands; The Handsome Collecion pre-ordered as well but all my hype is going to this game now.

I think preload is going up 24 hours before release.
The fantastic Type-0 is holding me down on PS4 at the moment. Of course ALL other games will be soon taking a backseat. Man it's so close ;_;
