BLOODBORNE Spoiler Thread (read OP)

There is a lot of FUD flying around. From "being to easy" to "only 5 weapons" to "2 minutes load times every time you die". C-Warriors doing work.

Ahhh, i see. Just more nonsense. Looking foward to reviews tomorrow. Should hold. Me over till Tuesday.

From what I have watched the game looks like Dark Souls with more intensity and can be sinister as fuck. Nothing easy about it, although some bosses may offer you an easier time than others. Just like in the Souls series.

I imagine everybody knows which class he is going to choose. Which class should I pick if I want a strength build with some survivability?

So GAF what do you reckon are the chances of the load screens being changed. On a realistic level.

Load times should be looked at as a priority. What they look like is probably way down the list. Almost to the point of a developer not real caring. Make it short enough, it won't matter.

They should Skyrim it and show models and items from the game while you wait.

For the length of time that they are up it is kind of funny that they went with the name in bright white. Is this Miyazaki trolling again? Knowing his game's name would be burned into TVs worldwide?

I have an old LCD that will burn in bad with that. A blank screen would be better than what they have currently.

Not from what i've seen. It seems about the same as anything else.

And i watched mobius play almost the whole game with it.

Yea same, I didn't see the stun lock but looking at post from different website people are reporting that an upgraded 9+ or 10+ stunlocks. I didn't want about the last 10 hours of Mobius though since I was asleep or busy (I hope he figured out how to get the other 1/3 of that item. . )

So rumor is that the saw cleaver is OP and stun lock enemies?
I don't think so, it's not even a good weapon for late game/pvp since the scaling is bad. and it should be this way since it's a starting weapon.

the fact that mobius destroyed some bosses with it should tell you something about their difficulty. well at least we got the Chalice.

I'm interested in what you guys think about spoilers. As in do you think it affects your enjoyment of the game or not?

I'm personally conflicted because my favorite parts of souls game is creating a build that suits my style but at the same time I don't want to know how to defeat certain areas.

What would be a good scaling weapon (or stats that would make sense)

I feel the same. I try to watch in bits and pieces. I was so good until now, not watching or reading anything. I really want to play this game right now.. Patience is running thin.
Same here. Just want to keep myself sated until Tuesday by feeding myself little bits from streams.

It's the only thing that guy's upgraded and used. It is just the weapon he got used to.Other weapons can be upgraded and customized too you know, we just spent toooooooo much time watching a stubborn player reach his own zen.

You could get through the other games with the starting weapons with no problems. I destroyed Gwyn with a longsword, doesn't mean anything.

Take that big logo away ... instead they could use some artwork or some not so bright image instead if item descriptions arw too much work for them

I think in this game the weapons won't necessarily be loads better if they were found later in the game, it seems like due to the customization on the weapons just about any weapon can be pretty great.

As far as the logo goes, it's not too bothersome. That could change after seeing it 10+ times. Having artwork with flavor text would be really cool, though. They have a chance to put some interesting lore/facts for the player to read.

I haven't seen a single streamer using the axe as main. What's the deal with that? Not as good as other weapons? I was planning to pick it as my first weapon... :(

I'm absolutely picking it for my first playthrough. The cane is fine, but it seems a bit weak. And the sword doesn't have that cool spinning charge attack.

Starting with your fists was a viable way to beat the games in the past, so this really isn't much of an indication, some had a fine time with that . He specialized in his use of the saw cleaver, as will people with other weapons. Bosses being challenging comes down to the player -Would you judge Bosses by watching someone else beat them? Or will you judge on your own? The consensus on the bosses might be that they're easy , and you are right that Chalice Dungeon with an unknown amount of new enemies is going to be the challenge for the long-run as intended i think. It will be a challenge people won't have to go through NG+ for anyway.

I mean, it would probably be less fun if every boss was ornstein and smough levels of difficulty. Some bosses have to be easier to make players appreciate the greats.

Yeah, the game looks like it is going to stomp me into oblivion enough as it is. Even the one 'easier' boss I have seen is not really easy, lol.

As far as bosses go, i am at least happy we have some actual variety in design, unlike DS2.

But, i don't think they look particularly "easy." Mobius is a souls player, after all.

I think its because its the slowest weapon to start with...so its considered not a weapon a novice would use. The sawblade has good starting damage and speed. The cane has great speed but lower dps. And the axe is great damage, with slooow swings. Means you have to know when to attack at just the right moment to prevent too much damage to yourself.

Ah, I see. Thanks. Decisions, decisions. Which one to pick then???

The bosses are rarely the hardest part of a souls game.
Sure there are some like O & S, that are notorious for their difficulty, but it isn't like every boss is this giant roadblock.

I don't think it looks that slow though. It's probably what I'm going to choose so I guess I'll find out.

So far I have seen loads of agility based bosses. Not so many huge lumbering beasts like in Dark Souls.

I think the shift to combat offence and not defence like in the Souls games has made this game harder naturally but all of the enemies hit like trucks, so it does also seem to be made harder for the sake of being harder.
