HP Stream 7 £50 @ Microsoft Store

Hope they don't sell out quick, I can't get one till Friday.

The only downside is no HDMI out but it supports miracast so any relatively modern TV should be able to support it, even if it's not smart.

Tempting... but I own an OnePlus one phone which is pretty big, so 8" would be more appealing to me right now. Still, nice price.

Dos this come with a year of office 365 personal?

If so, buy it, then buy one month of full office 365 which upgrades your personal - and then cancel the subscription. You'll have 13 months of office 365 with 5 licenses, 60 minutes of Skype calls to phones per month, and unlimited one drive space - for less than the price of buying 12 months office.

Oh and you'll have a free windows tablet.

It does.

Behold...! The internal wlan Card is very very Bad.

I can vouch for this. It's unable to stream a full Blu-ray rip without hitching up over my network.

However, Steam home streaming seems to work smoothly. And while the wifi is not fast, it's weirdly reliable. I get a better connection with the Stream 7 than most of my other devices in the couple of usual dead spots in my house.

Oh ! That's very interesting ! The fact is I already own an Office 365 Family 1year Subscription. Any idea how I can benefit of This ? Thanks !

Hm, it's asking for a UK address when adding Paypal or credit card info. Do I dare try a fake address? It already asked for a shipping address so it probably won't get delivered to the fake address lol.

Just picked this up a few hours ago. I had one when they first came out via an employee discount scheme, and ended up selling it on for a small profit as I didn't need it. Bizarrely, I now have an actual usage case for one, so for £49.99 this is a steal.

Screen is definitely better than other 7" Windows tablets I've tried (the screen on the Encore 7 was terrible), battery life not so bad, and the MicroSD slot is nicely tucked away under the rear case. Ran smoothly, and I was surprised at how useable it was with only 1GB of RAM - I used it to run some emulators (played a lot of Advance Wars) and it managed well enough.

A real bargain to be had here.

My ASUS tab just died, so this is great. How are Windows tablets for stuff like Netflix?

For Netflix it's fine. The app exists and it has worked fine when I've used it. Casual web browsing the tablet version of IE is also very good.

If you're wanting much in the way of tablet apps 8.1 though only covers the basics.

Does it have a HDMI out? If it does you could sellotape it to the back of your TV as a steam home streaming client.

Doesn't state which countries though.

Edit - If you go through to the shipping page there's quite a big list, and Germany is one of them

Sadly not, otherwise it might have made a neat steam IHS client. Gamers should also beware that while quadcore Atom chips are surprisingly adept at simple games the HP's only got 1GB of RAM

Portugal is on the list for me when I go through checkout.

Bought one a month ago. Sending it back but have to admit I was impressed as hell that you essentially have the full Windows 8 desktop at your fingertips. This thing should be very popular among comic readers and movie watchers as you do really any special apps. Hopefully with the Windows 10 tablets we see some much better hardware at affordable prices like this.

How is it for gaming? Never had a decent PC for gaming so the most I'm looking at is stuff like Ben There, Dan That, Psychonauts, Breath of Death VII, Portal, Audiosurf, etc. Might be tempted to get more if it runs better too.

Ordered. Cheap. Probably the best thing you can get for fifty quid of any kind of a tablet. I'll take this on holidays with me instead of a 400-odd quid Xperia Z2 tablet.

It's already ~$80 on the US store, and it comes with a $25 gift card, case and screen protector in addition to the Office 365 subscription.

Ah, that's not bad at all. Just got a $200 gift card, so I'm looking at this for light gaming/steam streaming/class notes.
