they have half their stock in today and are sending them out hopefully. My order is currently Processing and they've taken the money. Everyone i've talked to say they are excellent with release day delivery. If they pull through they'll be getting all my physical custom from now on.

OT: any PVP videos out in the wild yet?

Just received my dispatched email from them............ its all in the hand of the royal mail now !
Man cant wait for tomorrow :D

Got my ass handed to me by the blood starved beast 4 times =(
I need to farm up some vials and bullets in Central Yharnam then have another crack at it tomorrow.

Yeah, especially if you don't know all the enemies movesets yet and you're a bit impatient like I can be sometimes... it's good to kill things in a couple hits so you don't increase the odds of getting yourself killed lol. Rolled a new character for the axe and its a lot of fun.

Yep, the longer the enemies are left standing, the more chances they have to end you. Not the best way to engage a new experience that is also fundamentally different than the Souls series. Not to mention deadlier and more up close and personal.

Yea me and my friend loved Dark Souls and we have played this for 7 hours now and the Co-op makes this game so great. We took the first boss down like champions. Felt so good and the design in this world...man worth it all.

Amazon sent me an email saying my CE wouldn't be here till the 23rd. Cancelled the order and went digital. Fuck it. At least I got $10 out of complaining to them.

I dont play for long, 2 hour sessions here and there.....had the game since the 14th

Bloodborne is now #3 on Amazon. Actually beating out the $20 PSN card. I've never seen that happen before, unless its some absolutely insane deal amazon has for a short period and you get that quick huge burst of sales on something.

guys don't give the item she asks for to the little girl.
it's just sad, and you get nothing from it. RIP MUM ;_;7
use it instead.

anyway I have some questions,

- I really can't fucking roll while having the lock-on? If true I feel like it's going to be a problem, at least for me.

- am I the only one playing with 10 brightness? It seems too dark otherwise, I don't know.

- where do I find Eileen the Crow? I read that she's at at the Central Yharnam Sewer entrance but I didn't find her there. is she after the pig?

btw I have the gaf password set, I'll try to use the Bell for the third boss I think.

Ha yeah the no roll screws with me as well.

I'm going with a strength build. Axe to start, and then the KirkHammer. I wouldn't mind the cane being weak in the beginning if the
scythe
were on the horizon somewhere, but I don't want to have to wait all the way till
NG+
before I get a cool weapon.

Now all I need to do is find a way to look busy at work (while actually reading gaf) for the next 6-7 hours.

well shieeett... I'm locked in a place where i get smashed with
bags of dicks
and I can't ring any help or offer help. I am so fucked right now.

Consumable health vials are handled a lot better here than Demons Souls. Hoping there aren't twelve different types of vials. I know there's a special one you can get if you
revisit the first area and talk to an NPC
- anyone know if this is repeatable? As in, if you already used the vial maybe you can get another one in your inventory? I also noticed vials cost more now, 360 echoes, than when I started. I think it's because my level, does this price only go up if you increase vigor?

Anyway, the fair drop rates, fast healing animation, dedicated healing hot key and regen mechanics streamlines the healing systems from Demons Souls in a very acceptable way while doing its own thing.

The faster speed, better enemy animations and god damn blood splatter makes the combat feel better than any Souls game. Dark Souls character movement was slower than Demon's, but Demon's Souls would probably feel lIke molasses if you just came off Bloodborne. It's faster, but still retains the tenants of being cautious and not rushing into an area unless you know what you're doing. But now you have more options in the moment when you do get overwhelmed.

Immediately just wanted to talk about this game when I took a break from it. Incredibly happy with it and glad that I didn't spoil too much. I'm only 3 bosses in but the game has surpassed my expectations thus far. There's not much I can fault this game for at this point, but if I'm going to be picky and echo a lot of comments here: the worst thing about the game is the load times. On one hand, If that's the biggest complaint I have, that's pretty good. On the other, they are really long and I can see that being a substantial drawback for some. I hope the supposed patch for this comes out soon.

Isn't there supposed to be a hunter NPC on the bridge before the first boss? I saw him in the pre-release footage but can't find him. I even cleared the bridge myself and he was nowhere to be found. I beat the first boss so it's not that important that I find him, I just thought it was odd.

I just need to know what the easiest starting class is to use when my copy from Gamefly arrives. This will be my first real shot at a Souls game, and I'll take any legit advantage I can get.

I had difficulty with the cane, but I switched to the saw cleaver and am having a much better time. I think the weapons are all good, but the cleaver was easier for me to use.

Holy shit people stop relying on blood vials. There's a system in place that almost forces you to learn enemy attacks and rewards you for doing well (and punishes you for fucking up).

I'm trying but coming from a turtle it's haaaard, lol.

Think I am getting it, though. Once I get off work today, it's all about practicing the timing.

I'm curious how you level up. Do I need to go back to Hunter's Dream?

You can level up your attributes in the Hunter's Dream by talking to the Doll. For every attribute point you increase, your character level increases by 1. The Doll is only available once
you acquire at least one point of insight. I received this after dying to the Cleric Beast (first boss) and went back to the Hunter's Dream.

Thanks for the opinions :P

Are load times really bad? Waiting to respawn after each death?

Also, does anyone know if they gave any word on when to expect the loading patch? I sort of want to either wait or play VERY slow depending on when it's coming

It's not the worst thing in the world. It's slightly annoying, and I'm a bit pissed that this wasn't fixed before launch (or wasn't because of a server issue), but the game is so fun that'll take a break and do something during the screen.

They've already said they are making a patch so hold off if it bothers you.

In the UK. Just cracked early and bought digitally from the US store. So excited. My slow internet isn't evening dampening the hype

I guess I'll need to use another button for the lock-on, if I need to un-lock I'm not too fast with the default one.
anyone? I want her weapon!
Regarding Eileen:
You know that part where you speak with the old woman and she asks about a safe place, etc? When you go down there there is some kind of sewer, etc right? Before you go down there are some barrels that you can destroy and drop through a window located behind these barrels, explore this area and you can find her.

What the hell. After killing the big pig in the sewers and finding out it was just another way to the 2nd boss, I ran back and found that a new item had appeared on the floor where the pig died called
Red Messenger Ribbon
What the hell is that and why was it there?

Whats a good way to get back blood vials? Used them all in first cleric beast fight (almost won too damnt) but now im like scrapin the bottom of the barrel.

Glad to hear you're enjoying the game, Sulli. Can't wait til I get off work to play.

Anyone else getting this message when trying to play online, "Starting game in online mode as game has not been fully installed" ??

I preloaded the game through the Sony Website if that makes a difference...

Sorry, I can't give you specific directions, but there is a hunter NPC around before the first boss; but that also kind of depends on whether or not you took the direct route or long route, since it's possible to skip the first boss. He's on an alcove overlooking a lower level. I actually haven't encountered him since the first time, so I don't know if he disappears, of if I've just not gone back to the same spot yet.

Just finished a play session of about 9hr, got to get ready for work now. I started as Waste of Skin, with the cleaver and shotgun. Later changed to the excellent
Saw Spear
and have stuck with it. Have beaten three bosses.

So far, it's worse than DS and DS2 but still a great game. Some issues:

- Loading loading loading. If you're not super pro, you're going to be dying a decent amount early on, and the loading takes forever! Not to mention, to warp between areas you first have to travel back to the hub, which means double loading times! The screen doesn't even have lore tidbits to read. :/
- Coop is obscurely locked out. Me and my friend had to look up how to get the second component required to play together (
you need 10 insight to open a shop up in the hub
).
- Lack of equipment. I've found only one set of equipment so far and only 3 or 4 have been available for purchase. Weapons are similarly sparse and the gem system does not make up for it.

Maybe the last one will be remedied as I progress. Still enjoying it very much! It's definitely a Souls game.

Yea I'm not too keen on being funneled down a particular playstyle. Just the sheer flexibility of play configurations in prior souls games feels completely lacking so far. All the elements built to prop up the aggressive nature are fundamentally fine, but I'm not as enamored by this game. Still early enough in that my opinion could change, but this is currently on the lower rung of my souls ranking.

The obnoxious loading isn't helping matters either.

The sewers. Big guys down there are a guaranteed two drop.

Just kill the mobs in Central Yharnam, they refill quickly.

What the hell I gotta go back there
